Big data is a term that refers to a set of data that,due to its largeness or complexity,cannot be stored or processed with one of the usual tools or applications for data management,and it has become a prominent word in recent years for the massive development of *** immediately thereafter,the term“big data mining”emerged,i.e.,mining from big data even as an emerging and interconnected field of *** is an important stage in data mining since it helps people make better decisions in a variety of situations,including scientific endeavors,biomedical research,and industrial *** probabilistic neural network(PNN)is a commonly used and successful method for handling classification and pattern recognition *** this study,the authors proposed to combine the probabilistic neural network(PPN),which is one of the data mining techniques,with the vibrating particles system(VPS),which is one of the metaheuristic algorithms named“VPS-PNN”,to solve classi-fication problems more *** data set is eleven common benchmark medical datasets from the machine-learning library,the suggested method was *** suggested VPS-PNN mechanism outperforms the PNN,biogeography-based optimization,enhanced-water cycle algorithm(E-WCA)and the firefly algorithm(FA)in terms of convergence speed and classification accuracy.

We consider distributionally robust optimal control of stochastic linear systems under signal temporal logic (STL) chance constraints when the disturbance distribution is unknown. By assuming that the underlying predicate functions are Lipschitz continuous and the noise realizations are drawn from a distribution having a concentration of measure property, we first formulate the underlying chance-constrained control problem as stochastic programming with constraints on expectations and propose a solution using a distributionally robust approach based on the Wasserstein metric. We show that by choosing a proper Wasserstein radius, the original chance-constrained optimization can be satisfied with a user-defined confidence level. A numerical example illustrates the efficacy of the method. © 2024 IEEE.

Biometric technologies have been widely adopted in various commercial products, ranging from security systems to personal devices, due to their exceptional reliability and user-friendliness. Among these, palmprint biometrics has gained increasing attention for its advantages, such as ease of use, a larger surface area, and the ability to capture more features compared to other biometric methods. A typical palmprint biometric system involves five key stages: (a) Image Acquisition, (b) Hand Segmentation, (c) Pattern Generation, (d) Feature Extraction, and (e) Verification/Identification. The overall success of the system depends on the effectiveness of each stage, with hand segmentation being crucial for identifying the most relevant features for accurate verification. This study aims to achieve high-accuracy biometric recognition by segmenting hands from images captured in uncontrolled environments with complex backgrounds. Accuracy (ACC), Intersection over Union (IoU), F1-Score, and Dice Coefficient are the four critical metrics used to assess the performance of segmentation techniques. The findings demonstrate that the U-Net + ViT and MA-Net + ResNet34 techniques outperform traditional auto-encoder methods in both quantitative performance metrics and visual analysis, leading to significantly improved hand segmentation for biometric systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Predicting water quality is essential to preserving human health and environmental sustain ability. Traditional water quality assessment methods often face scalability and real-time monitoring limitations. With accuracies of 62%, 72 %, 83 %, 69%, 63 %, 66%, 71 %, 63 %, and 64%, respectively, the current techniques utilized were Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest Regressor, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Naive Bayes, K-nearest neighbors, Support Vector Machine, AdaBoost, and Bagging [9]. This study addresses these challenges by leveraging Adaptive Synthetic Sampling (ADASYN) to balance the dataset and evaluating model performance on datasets of 5,000 and 10,000 entries per class. A robust dataset obtained from Kaggle was used, with five models - Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN), Categorical Boosting (CatBoost), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and Random Forest - evaluated and compared. The proposed methods demonstrate significant improvements in accuracy, with XGBoost achieving the highest accuracy of 95.53%, followed by Random Forest at 93.98%. This work underscores the importance of advanced machine learning techniques in addressing the limitations of traditional methods, enhancing accuracy, scalability, and adaptability in water quality prediction. These findings contribute to advancing environmental monitoring and management practices with reliable, data-driven insights.

Renewable power from sunlight can power the future smart grid with massive amounts of electricity. systems struggle with solar energy's unpredictability and intermittent nature. Unpredictability of solar electricity hinders smart grid optimization and planning. Photovoltaic (PV) power generation must be accurately estimated to reduce power interruptions. PV power must be accurately predicted to avoid grid disturbances from PV facilities. Thus, we describe a transfer learning and AlexNet-based CNN architecture for short-term power forecasting. Past power, solar radiation, wind speed, and temperature readings determine the input. AlexNet's hyper-parameters are optimized using the artificial rabbit method. By adding selective opposition to ARO, local solution tracking efficiency is improved. CNN input features are created from all input parameters as 2D feature maps. After analyzing real PV data from Limberg, Belgium, the math shows that PV systems work. © 2024 IEEE.

In this modern era, traffic congestion has become a major source of negative economic and environmental impact for urban areas worldwide. One of the most efficient ways to mitigate this issue is through traffic prediction. This research field has evolved greatly ever since its inception in the late 70s. Recently, deep neural network models have gained popularity thanks to its predictive power, but despite this, literature surveys of such methods are rare;making it difficult to ascertain the progress of this research field. In this work, we address this issue by presenting an up-to-date survey of deep neural network for traffic prediction. We provide detailed explanations of popular deep neural network architectures used in the traffic flow prediction literatures, categorize and describe the literatures themselves, present an overview of the commonalities and differences among different works, and finally provide a discussion regarding the challenges and future directions for this field. © 2023 IEEE.

The complexity of the entire process of supply chain management (SCM) is quite cumbersome and traditional way of handling it is devoid of proper authentication and security and very often suffers from human errors in dealing with flaws in quality control process of SCM. While it may have started with shipment tracking, the outcome of using IoT on supply chains has spread to every link in the chain. For instance, manufacturers are employing Internet-enabled sensors in production to find product faults, resulting in higher-quality production runs. Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) is a defense countermeasure that exploits the exclusive, unrepeatable features of hardware components to generate distinct cryptographic keys or identifiers, typically for a semiconductor device like an Internet of Things (IoT) device. The distinctive proof of identity of IoT devices in the supply chain is employed by means of PUFs as inviolable IDs. Blockchain, the distributed, immutable ledger, on the other hand is the disruptive technology that provides higher security as compared to traditional centralized systems. The integration of PUF and blockchain proves to be quite interesting while handling the above issues of authentication. A smart contract on the blockchain is a software code that executes spontaneously as and when the conditions of the contract or agreement are satisfied. Hence after authentication process the results are fed to blockchain smart contract for the final validation. This paper presents a novel permissioned blockchain smart contract-based lightweight authentication scheme for SCM using PUF of IoT known as SPUFChain. Informal and formal security analysis (using AVISPA and BAN logic) of the proposed framework show its efficiency to resist several threat scenarios like man-in-the middle, non-repudiation, impersonation, replay attacks and many other security features as compared to other related schemes. PCOS are the serious condition which affects female ovaries during their reproductive age of 15 to 45. This disease affects 5 to 10% of reproductive-age females. Although it is difficult to fully resolve this issue,the PCOS affected women can be mitigated through proper exercise, by taking proper nutritious diet and maintaining the healthy BMI. Until they take a pregnancy test, the majority of women are unaware of the disease. The clinical dataset has the 541 instances and 45 attributes of unbalanced classes of 0 and 1 (no and yes) which has 364 instances of 0 (no) class and 177 instances of 1 (yes) class. Preprocessing is done for the unbalanced dataset by filling the null values and changing the datatype of all attributes to numeric datatypes. The unbalanced dataset is balanced by the balancing techniques of SMOTE and Random Over Sampling. Comparing the both balanced techniques through the accuracy the random oversampling gives the *** supervised learning algorithms are Decision tree, KNN,Random Forest,AdaBoost, Logistic regression,Gradient boosting, cat boosting, XGBoosting, Linear SVM, Radial SVM, Linear discriminant analysis and Quadratic discriminant analysis are *** supervised learning algorithms are trained and tested by splitting the dataset to 70% for training and 30% for testing. The ensemble stacking techniques are used by implementing the all models at the cross validation of *** xgboost gives the accuracy of 96% for the balanced dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Twitter is one of the best places to learn how people feel about current affairs related to the forecast of cryptocurrencies. There have been unavailability of any robust models for determining the user-preference of the major cryptocurrencies in the market on the basis of the tweets made by the major investors. Morever, the statistical dependency and the feature importance of the various contributing features in determining the prices of these cryptocurrencies has been a major concern too. This study proposes a novel two-phase robust hybrid approach for determining both user preference and feature importance of various contributing features on pricing of top cryptocurrencies in the market. It determines the user-preference on the basis of the subjectivity and polarity score obtained from the sentiment polarity classification of the tweets. It also determines both statistical dependency and feature importance of the various contributing features involved in pricing of the top cryptocurrencies in the market with the help of SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) score. We have used two types of datasets for our detailed study. Additionally, knowledge graphs have been used to describe the capacity to recognise semantic data. With accuracy, precision, recall, F-1 score, and AUC-ROC values of 92%, 88%, 85%, 95%, and 94%, respectively our proposed approach outperformed conventional machine learning techniques. © 2023 IEEE.

Cloud services are experiencing a remarkable increase in the number of users and the resource required over the past few years. Thus, it has become a great challenge for the internet vendors to make a robust framework to serve the customers with low cost and delay. Congestion control is one of the essential topics of routing algorithms in cloud data center networks. In this paper, we propose a weighted optimal scheduling scheme WSPR for congestion control in cloud data center networks which prevents the congestion in advance with the global view so that it can make good use of vacant network resources. We choose BCube as our network model and modify the network topology to fit software-defined networks so as to have a full view of the topology. First, we design the SP graph which contains all shortest paths between a source server and a destination server. Second, we propose WSPR to allocate the most appropriate path to each flow for congestion control. We implement a system to simulate a data center, and evaluate our proposed scheme WSPR by comparing WSPR with other classical methods. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed scheme WSPR has the best performance in terms of the maximum delay, average delay, and throughput among all compared methods. © 2008-2012 IEEE.
