Object detection plays a vital role in remote-sensing datasets which trains the image or things and helps in classifying the images into their classes. Instance segmentation is the avant-garde technique used for object detection in Deep Learning. There are many instance segmentation models which can produce significant results. Object detection, segmentation, and RGB analysis in images taken from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are difficult with the desired level of performance. Instance segmentation is a powerful method that extracts each object and its location with the predicted label for pixels in the input image. In this paper, a study has been carried out on the implementation of Mask R-CNN for instance segmentation with different optimization algorithms to obtain a more accurate result for UAV images. The training has been carried out with Mask R-CNN for object detection using ResNet50 and ResNet101 as the backbone. After extensive experiments, it has been observed that the optimization algorithm plays a vital role in the overall computational process and can improve the accuracy level with a reduction in the training/validation loss. The experiment has been conducted on publicly available UAV datasets. Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Fingerprinting-based Indoor Positioning systems (IPS) offer several key advantages over other indoor positioning technologies, including cost-effectiveness with high accuracy and passive tracking of entities’ location without Global Positioning System (GPS) dependence. However, achieving a satisfactory accuracy performance of the WLAN fingerprinting-based IPS is still challenging, as it is affected by several factors, such as obstacles (e.g., walls and furniture) that can block or weaken wireless signals. Additionally, the IPS’s accuracy can be affected by environmental changes, such as the height, addition, or removal of a WLAN Access Point (AP) or changes in radio frequency interference. This paper presents a novel algorithm incorporating a probabilistic analytical model employing only high signal relations that mitigate the effect of low signal relation on the WLAN fingerprinting-based IPS, thus improving the accuracy performance. Furthermore, it analyses the impact of AP heights on the accuracy performance of the WLAN IPS. Upon extensive experiments, the proposed algorithm improves the accuracy of the IPS by an average of 32.74% in terms of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). These results imply that incorporating APs’ height and high signal relations can significantly improve the accuracy performance of the WLAN fingerprinting-based IPS. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

In the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) process, 3D components with complex geometries are fabricated in a layer-by-layer fashion by using a controlled laser beam to selectively melt particular regions of the metal powder bed. However, due to the stochastic nature of the L-PBF process, the top surface roughness of each solidified layer tends to be different even when the optimal processing conditions for the different positions on the build plate are employed. As a result, the mechanical properties of the built components frequently vary from one component to the next. Accordingly, this study proposes an Intelligent Additive Manufacturing Architecture (IAMA) for controlling the surface roughness of each build layer through an appropriate adjustment of the laser re-melting parameters. The IAMA architecture comprises five modules, namely In-Situ Metrology (ISM), Ex-Situ Metrology (ESM), Automatic Virtual Metrology (AVM), Additive Manufacturing Simulation (AMS) and Intelligent Compensator (IC). The feasibility of the proposed architecture is demonstrated by comparing the top surface roughness of cubic and mechanical strengths of tensile test samples built using the proposed method with those built using a traditional L-PBF approach without surface roughness control. It is found that the samples fabricated using the IAMA approach have an average top surface roughness of 1.6μm and a standard deviation is 0.7μm. By contrast, the samples produced using the traditional L-PBF approach have an average surface roughness of 13.45μm and a standard deviation of 2.5μm. In addition, the specimens produced with the assistance of IAMA architecture have an average tensile strength of 1013 MPa with a standard deviation of 69.5 MPa, while those printed without surface roughness control have an average tensile strength of 903 MPa with a standard deviation of 101.4 MPa Note to Practitioners - As L-PBF produce part in a layer-by-layer manner, therefore, the roughness on the top surface of p

Mobile wireless sensor networks (MWSNs) allow the sensor nodes to move freely and transmit to each other without needing a fixed infrastructure. Usually, the routing process is very complex, and it becomes even more complicated as the sensor nodes are low-power, cost-effective mobile devices with minimum resources. MWSNs raises deployed in security-critical applications due to their resource-constrained features;they are prone to several security attacks that critically affect data transmission. The most significant innovation of trust is that it evades untrustable nodes by activating several detection routes to detect and obtain node trust, enhancing security quickly. Mobility and Behavior based Trustable Routing (MBTR) is proposed to solve these issues. This approach measures sensor node mobility based on the Received Signal Strength (RSS) between the two sensor nodes. The trust manager computes the node trust ability by the node behavior. Here, the node behavior is checked through the node energy, supportive account, and received packet account. The trust manager selects the security algorithm based on distance during data transmission. The simulation examination demonstrates lesser delay and lesser packet loss in the network. Furthermore, it improves the network throughput in the MWSN. © 2023 IEEE.

Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly developing technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical items or effects embedded with computer software, detectors, and network connectivity. The Internet of Things also addresses the issue of centralizing physical bias management online. We are leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT) idea to construct a system that will automatically monitor all artificial processes and issue warnings or expert comments when necessary. nowadays, gas leakage is a serious concern in the house and as well as vigilance. If the gas sense is indeed low, it's because we've been too careless, intolerant, or both to look for it. If the gas position is raised, however, calamity may ensue. In this research, the crucial concept is introduced to prevent this catastrophe from occurring. In this study, we propose an alternate approach to this impending calamity and design a system with integrated sensors, controllers, and some IoT-assisted software. The suggested method, known as the Internet of Things based Industrial Safety System (IoTISS), is compared against the more established Industrial Safety System (ISS) to see how well it performs. In this system, we are monitoring the detection of gas leakages with various warning characteristics as well as other devices are used for monitoring various aspects like humidity and temperature using DHT22 sensor, MQ2 gas monitoring sensor, fire sensor and NodeMCU ESP8266 WiFi module. NodeMCU ESP8266, which doubles as a WiFi module, will receive data from all of these types of sensors. © 2024 IEEE.

The security of computer networks is increasingly difficult to maintain due to the rising complexity and frequency of cyber-attacks. Important tools for finding and neutralizing these dangers are intrusion detection systems. This study sets out to do a thorough examination and comparison of the efficacy of several machine learning algorithms for use in intrusion detection. This research study evaluates the efficacy of several machine learning algorithms in correctly categorizing instances of network traffic as normal or invasive via extensive experiments performed on representative datasets. Algorithms like random forests, decision trees, SVMs, DL models and NNs are all being tested and rated. Effectiveness is measured and compared using a variety of performance indicators including accuracy, recall, precision, false positive rate, and F1-score. The results of this study emphasize the potential of deep learning models and Random Forests for use in intrusion detection and add to the body of knowledge around machine learning methods for this task. Professionals in the field of network security might use the results to their advantage when building intrusion detection systems. Future research areas are also mentioned, which will hopefully lead to even greater improvements in the field and safer, more reliable intrusion detection systems. © 2023 IEEE.
