In this paper, we introduce a systematic design of an end-to-end cyber-secure monitoring and safe operation framework for solar photovoltaic (PV)-rich microgrids, by focusing on the use of on-line attack detector for defending against potential cyber-physical attacks and sensor measurement data processing for operational safety. The proposed approach is based on: 1) identifying component models using their input and output measurements;2) dynamic watermarking (DW) methodology for on-line cyber-attack detection and its timing;and 3) an adaptive event-driven safe shutdown procedure after attack detection. It is shown how these three components interactive steps jointly to ensure safe operation under both normal operational scenarios and compromised operational scenarios with some malicious sensors caused by cyber-attacks on solar PV microgrids. Through this on-line integration, the proposed framework dynamically adapts to varying solar irradiance, load demands, operating conditions, and potential cyber-physical attacks. This forms a cyber-physical system which can pro-actively detect and mitigate potential cyber-physical attacks on solar PV microgrids. We describe its proof-of-concept implementation using real-world industrial solar farm data provided by the CenterPoint Energy. This study contributes to enhancing the cyber-security and safe operation of solar PVrich power systems, offering a scalable solution to other types of emerging renewable-rich energy distribution systems. © 2024 IEEE.

A cataract is one of the most significant eye problems worldwide that does not immediately impair vision and progressively worsens over *** cataract prediction based on various imaging technologies has been addressed recently,such as smartphone apps used for remote health monitoring and eye *** recent years,advances in diagnosis,prediction,and clinical decision support using Artificial Intelligence(AI)in medicine and ophthalmology have been *** to privacy concerns,a lack of data makes applying artificial intelligence models in the medical field *** address this issue,a federated learning framework named CDFL based on a VGG16 deep neural network model is proposed in this *** study collects data from the Ocular Disease Intelligent Recognition(ODIR)database containing 5,000 patient *** significant features are extracted and normalized using the min-max normalization *** the federated learning-based technique,the VGG16 model is trained on the dataset individually after receiving model updates from two *** transferring the attributes to the global model,the suggested method trains the local *** global model subsequently improves the technique after integrating the new *** client analyses the results in three rounds to decrease the over-fitting *** experimental result shows the effectiveness of the federated learning-based technique on a Deep Neural Network(DNN),reaching a 95.28%accuracy while also providing privacy to the patient’s *** experiment demonstrated that the suggested federated learning model outperforms other traditional methods,achieving client 1 accuracy of 95.0%and client 2 accuracy of 96.0%.

Opacity is a security and privacy property that guarantees predefined secret behavior of a cyber-physical system will not be inferred with certainty by a malicious entity. If a system is opacity-violating, extended insertion functions that insert fake symbols can be implemented to enforce opacity. By constricting the ways in which the fake symbols are inserted, this paper addresses opacity enforcement under the framework of finite state automata using extended insertion functions under event insertion constraints and limited insertion events constraints, i.e., only a limited number of symbols in a specified set can be inserted before and after an actual system output. The notion of (kb,ka)-EIC-enforceability is proposed to describe how to enforce opacity via extended insertion functions in the presence of both event insertion constraints and limited insertion events constraints. A necessary and sufficient condition to check (kb,ka)-EIC-enforceability is derived by constructing an appropriate verifier. © 2023 IEEE.

Tropical cyclones, characterized by strong winds and heavy rainfall, threaten human life in coastal regions crucial to the economy, including fisheries, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure. Their frequent occurrence impacts communities reliant on these industries for livelihoods. Accurate estimation of tropical cyclone intensity is vital for disaster preparedness, risk assessment, and timely evacuations. Recent advancements in machine learning and deep learning have been applied to predict cyclone intensity from satellite images, providing insights into cyclone dynamics and enhancing disaster response. This paper analyzes recent research on intensity estimation using various machine learning algorithms and discusses future prospects for improving accuracy and reliability.

The rapid advancement of technology and the internet has resulted in an increase in the number of learners seeking e-learning. Though E-Learning is widely used most e-learning systems provide the same set of learning resources and learning paths to each student, regardless of their personal preferences. In recent years there has been increasing attention towards the characteristics of learners such as the learning styles and the knowledge level of the learner. This research paper proposes a personalized adaptive E-learning system called 'Adaptivo' that provides a personalized learning experience to the learners based on their learning style and knowledge level. To make the learning process more efficient and engaging, Adaptivo takes into account the specific differences between learners in terms of time, online interactions and learning duration. It then builds a personalized learning path depending on each learner's learning style and knowledge level. The main aim of this study is to investigate the impact of the proposed adaptive learning approach on learners. The results show that the students appreciate the approach, are highly satisfied, and performed better when content is personalized according to their learning style and prior knowledge. © 2022 IEEE.

Autonomous Vehicle (AV) usage has become predominant in the rapidly evolving landscape of urban transportation. Integrating AVs and non-AVs in the existing traffic infrastructure has significantly increased the complexity of traffic patterns. This research work primes the enhanced Traffic Management System (e-TMS), a solution implemented to expedite Emergency Vehicle (EV) travel in the context of Connected AVs (CAVs) and ensured secured communication employing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) among the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) framework. When an EV is detected, the IoV system verifies the EV's signal using PKI, ensuring its authenticity and integrity by encrypting the communication between the EV and Road Side Units (RSUs). Further, the e-TMS activates the platooning process where CAVs in the EV's lane shift to the adjacent lanes and dynamically form platoons to create a dedicated lane for the EV. To further optimize the platooning process, an Adaptive Smart Leader Selection (ASLS) algorithm is employed to select a leader vehicle spontaneously among the AVs based on the proximity to the EV, communication reliability, and lane position. Radio Detection and Ranging devices aid this platooning process by providing distance and target velocity, which are needed to maintain the required distance between the AVs and ensure safe platoon formation. The e-TMS enhances EV response times and overall traffic flow efficiency and resulted in 27.8% increase in mean speed compared to the traditional methods. © 2014 IEEE.

Recommendation systems are pivotal in industries like entertainment, where competitiveness is intense. This study enhances movie recommendations by utilizing rich datasets from IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, incorporating movie ratings, user profiles, audience scores, and critics' reviews. These elements were subjected to sentiment analysis to refine the data quality. We explored three filtering techniques: content-based, which analyzes movie features;collaborative, which processes user behavior patterns;and hybrid, combining both to leverage their strengths. The effectiveness of these methods was assessed using Mean Average Precision at k (MAP-k) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), with our results showing notable improvements in recommendation accuracy. For instance, the hybrid method achieved a MAP ©k of 0.271 and an RMSE of 0.634, indicating enhanced precision and reliability of the recommendations. These findings suggest significant potential for improving user satisfaction and retention in digital platforms, demonstrating the benefit of integrating diverse data sources and analytical techniques in recommendation systems.

In our country, skin diseases are more common than other diseases because of the climate. Skin diseases are occurring almost on all groups of ages among people. It is one of the most common types of diseases where some can be painful, and some can cause fatal to human life. The delay of the disease detection, difficulties of identify the infected area, Ignorance of the spread of the disease and treatments may threat to the patient's life. Most of the time this process is performed manually which can lead to human errors and takes days for providing the results. This paper reports a smart solution that assists the patients by detecting the disease, identify the current infected area of the disease, recommend best doctors, provide community-based prevention guidelines, and predict the future risk. Also due to this economic crisis, we suggest that it's much easier if the patient can do these skin check-ups systematically to continuously monitor and detect skin disease to get proper medical attention. As treatment procedures can be different from each doctor and impact will be different, we are working on community-based platform where we can get patients' reviews about doctors and preventive guidelines. Depending on the performance evaluations, the results obtained from the proposed method for disease identifications are in the range of 90% - 95% of accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

Properly created and securely communicated,non-disclosure agreement(NDA)can resolve most of the common disputes related to outsourcing of offshore software maintenance(OSMO).Occasionally,these NDAs are in the form of *** the work is done offshore,these agreements or images must be shared through the Internet or stored over the *** breach of privacy,on the other hand,is a potential threat for the image owners as both the Internet and cloud servers are not void of *** article proposes a novel algorithm for securing the NDAs in the form of *** an agreement is signed between the two parties,it will be encrypted before sending to the cloud server or travelling through the public network,the *** the image is input to the algorithm,its pixels would be scrambled through the set of randomly generated rectangles for an arbitrary amount of *** confusion effects have been realized through an XOR operation between the confused image,and chaotic ***,5D multi-wing hyperchaotic system has been employed to spawn the chaotic vectors due to good properties of chaoticity it *** machine experimentation and the security analysis through a comprehensive set of validation metric vividly demonstrate the robustness,defiance to the multifarious threats and the prospects for some real-world application of the proposed encryption algorithm for the NDA images.
