The number of illegal intruders is growing at the same rate as the number of computer networks and the amount of data on those networks. They try to steal important and private information from the network about its users. An intrusion detection system (IDS) blocks all malicious or unauthorized activity from a computer network. However, it is important to detect illegal activity as early as possible;otherwise, attackers might access all the resources of the system. So, an effective and efficient IDS can be very useful for that. In this paper, we propose an ensemble learning method based on a voting classifier technique for detecting intrusion into a system. We have used the NSL-KDD dataset for our study. First, we preprocess the dataset. Then we implemented different machine learning algorithms. Based on the results, the Extra Trees Classifier, Decision Tree, and Random Forest algorithms achieved the highest accuracy scores of 98.68%, 98.58%, and 98.70% respectively. In the next step, we applied voting classifier techniques using these top three models, and we achieved an accuracy of 98.73% which indicates that this method can effectively increase the performance of the models. Finally, we have evaluated our models using different performance evaluation metrics. © 2023 IEEE.

Increasing availability of cost effective IoT (Internet of Things) devices have led to the development of IoT- based farm management systems. Smart Agriculture is a demanding approach that employs the use of technology-enabled information and communication to monitor farms. In India, somewhere around 60% of the organization’s operations mostly dependent on agriculture directly or indirectly. A nation’s advancement is typically influenced by concerns with agriculture. The most effective approach to addressing agriculture’s challenges is always to improve traditional agricultural practices as well as modernize them into smart agriculture. The smart agriculture technique offers beneficial data collection, highly precise control as well as automated monitoring strategies. This research proposed a IoT assisted fog-based model that promises to provide the cost-effective smart agriculture system. Fog platform brings computation and storing nearer at the network’s the border, allowing for the efficient processing of data produced by IoT devices across smart agricultural systems. The bibliometric evaluation of the Web of science database for the adoption of the IoT-Fog base infrastructure in the creation of smart agriculture systems is also highlighted in this paper. The proposed solution when implemented as well as when contrasted with existing IoT-based agriculture system exhibit better efficiency. The result revealed that proposed system brings down response time, error rate and standard deviation to significant level and improves the accuracy of current system exponentially. © The Author(s) 2025.

Mobile terminals' limited processing power and memory make it challenging to meet the needs of increasingly complex applications like autonomous vehicles and augmented reality. That's why there's been a rise in the demand for edge cloud computing power from endpoint gadgets. Due to its adaptability and proximity to the user, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may be used to support mobile edge computing (MEC) via job offloading, potentially relieving strain on edge clouds. Due to limitations in processing power and battery life, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) devices face a huge issue with the rise of Applications and services for mobile devices that can't afford to be delayed and that need a lot of processing power. Task offloading is one way that mobile cloud computing may help you get around these restrictions. The biggest difficulties with this paradigm, however, are the significant latency and security concerns. The edge-cloud computing model was then proposed and has since seen widespread adoption as a means of dealing with these complications. However, the present task offloading models allow UAVs to perform their heavy jobs at the linked edge server, leading to unnecessary loads owing to the huge amount of UAVs and, in turn, increasing the latency. For this reason, this study has presented a delay-optimal task offloading strategy for multi-tier edge-cloud computing with many users. In this research, a system model has been proposed to assist an intelligent and perceptive agent in determining the best computational offloading strategy, minimizing both the time it takes to complete a job and the amount of power it needs to do so. The efficacy of an agent was shown, and simulation results revealed that its adoption may greatly cut delay and energy usage. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose the Class Attention in Video Transformer (CavT), an end-to-end method designed to process both long and short variant-length videos for student engagement prediction. CavT introduces a single vector for class embedding and incorporates the Binary-Order Representatives Sampling (BorS) technique to augment the dataset by adding multiple video sequences. Our method outperforms the state-of-the-art with MSE values of 0.0495 on the EmotiW-EP and 0.0377 on the DAiSEE datasets, providing a robust and scalable solution for engagement prediction. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The HVAC system, energy storage building, distributed power supply, and other equipment are integrated into the scheduling algorithm, which is aimed at reducing household electricity consumption. It is also assumed that users can provide energy to the grid according to their own conditions. Taking electricity cost and comfort level as optimization targets, a home energy optimization control model for the coordinated management of hybrid energy sources is built. A smart scheduling mechanism based on the improved adaptive particle swarm optimization approach is proposed in order to derive the best time intervals for electric appliances, necessary power for the control of the room temperature for every time frame, and power for charging and discharging of the storage battery at various moments. Simulation results show that through the incorporation of distributed photovoltaic power generation, backup storage by battery, and home energy optimization control, the system efficiently balances between user comfort and electricity consumption. This offers great technical support to the development of home energy management systems. By using time-of-use electricity price for energy acquisition and supply, the optimization control goal is minimizing both power use and cost as well as preserving comfort levels. The hybrid energy management's proposed home energy optimization control model uses an adaptive particle swarm optimization algorithm to find the optimal operation schedules of the electrical appliances, the required power for temperature control in a room, and the charge/discharge power level of the storage battery at each time interval. As per the optimization principle, the proposed dynamic programming algorithm converts the multi-stage problem into a sequence of single-stage problems and solves them separately. Recently, AI and NLP have been used to improve customer care. Customer support relies on event extraction and relevant data. In customer support applications, AI-based algorithms extract events. Event extraction identifies and extracts specific events or activities from textual data like customer service chats, emails, and social media interactions. Customer support teams may discover issues, trends, and improve the customer experience by automatically extracting events. Customer support event extraction can be done using AI-based models. Event extraction relies on named entity recognition (NER), sentiment analysis, and text classification. NER classifies customer names, product names, and problem keywords. Text classification classifies client issues into preset categories like billing, technical support, or product feedback, while sentiment analysis assesses the customer's emotional tone. Event extraction AI models use machine learning algorithms. Support vector machines (SVM) and random forests can be trained on annotated customer support data to reliably classify events. Recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and transformers can capture complicated patterns in textual data, making them promising event extraction methods. Customer support applications benefit from AI-based event extraction algorithms. It frees up support teams to focus on client issues by automating evaluation and categorization. It also helps firms identify emerging trends and enhance their products and services to answer client complaints. AI-based customer support event extraction models face hurdles. Labeled training data is costly and time-consuming to obtain. Ensuring model generalizability across multiple domains or languages is ongoing research. In conclusion, AI-based event extraction in customer support systems can improve customer experiences and support team efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

With the growing prevalence of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, IoT cloud platforms have become increasingly vital in the ecosystem that allows heterogeneous IoT devices to be accessed and managed by a wide range of IoT applications. IoT applications are typically hosted on dedicated application servers within the cloud platforms and offer intelligent automation, control, and management features for all connected IoT devices. However, we found that IoT devices can be attacked if the development environment is compromised. In this paper, we conduct the first systematic study on the security risks of IoT cloud platforms that are introduced by compromised development environments. We discover three novel attacks that can invoke commands on the IoT devices, initiate malicious IoT firmware update, and get access to the IoT devices through secure tunneling. We confirm the feasibility of these attacks on mainstream commercial IoT cloud platforms, including Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, Samsung SmartThings, IBM Watson IoT, and Google IoT, demonstrating their potential to impact a large number of devices. Our work leads to the creation of CVE-2023-38372 by IBM.

The current research provides a literature evaluation of works from sources such as IEEE and science Direct that explore testing and analysis methodologies and approaches for smart contracts. Smart contracts built on the blockchain have attracted a lot of attention from academics because of their unique properties. These include the immutability of transaction records, the automatic execution of contract instructions, and the decentralized building of trust. No one can deny blockchain's revolutionary potential across a number of sectors, but there are still technological hurdles to overcome before smart contracts gain widespread use. Solutions to these problems, as well as investigations into potential new uses for smart contracts outside of their present financial and logistics-related contexts, should guide future research efforts. In general, smart contracts built on blockchain technology have the power to revolutionize a number of sectors and open the door to a future that is more decentralized. © 2023 IEEE.
