Non-orthogonal multiple access is one of the best methods for addressing the needs of 5G wireless services (NOMA). The proliferation of mobile devices in recent years has increased the importance of cooperative spectrum sharing and utilization in wireless communication due to increases in the bit error rate (BER) brought on by collisions and interference. In this study, MIMO and Massive MIMO (M-MIMO) in the downlink (DL) NOMA power domain (PD) in conjunction with the Cooperative Cognitive Radio Network are proposed as two new ways for improving and evaluating BER in the 5G network (CCRN). Customers of NOMA compete for available channels on the CCRN in this first strategy. The second approach creates a dedicated channel for NOMA users. Three scenarios with varying distances, power location coefficients, and transmission power are used to evaluate the proposed methods in the MATLAB software program. It is assumed that four users will share a 90 MHz BW using QPSK modulation in all three scenarios. When evaluating the performance of the suggested system under the presumption of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading, concurrent interference cancellation (SIC) and unstable channel conditions are also considered. © 2023 IEEE.

Business intelligence (BI) encompasses the tools and uses to gather, combine, examine, and display data about a specific firm. Using historical and current efficiency comparisons, these structures assist in formulating plans and choices to achieve better outcomes in the future. Additionally, it helps firms determine which business issues and industry trends require attention. It has several benefits, such as increasing responsibility and efficiency, but it carries some disadvantages, such as being expensive, complicated, and time-consuming to adopt. Using big data-driven approaches to optimize talent recruitment is essential for improved decisions in the cutthroat world of BI. The efficacy of many machine learning algorithms to increase recruiting performance and accuracy is compared in this investigation. For optimizing, cross-validating, and hyperparameter modification were employed. The Random Forest (RF) algorithm has the greatest accuracy (92.9%), trailed by the Gradient Boosting Classifying system (92.6%) and the neural network (NNs) models (92.7%). These findings imply that sophisticated ML algorithms, in particular RF and NN, can greatly improve BI platforms' hiring procedures. Recruiters can benefit from this research's insightful recommendations for incorporating advanced ML methods into talent recruitment plans. © 2025 IEEE.

Deep learning is a powerful technology that enables intelligent data processing in the smart healthcare domain. Inspired by the tremendous processing power of cloud computing, the training process and the model repository of deep learning are moved to the cloud. Cloud-assisted deep learning applications enable smart mobile users to experience quick predictive results. Health professionals use smart mobile devices to convey recordings of the patient and to receive the best inference results. The mobility of these devices causes severe performance degradation as it increases the distance between its current location and the edge cloud where the virtual machines are provisioned. Therefore, mobility-based resource provisioning to identify a suitable server based on deadline constraints, available resources, and cost metrics is crucial. This paper proposes a proximity-based resource provisioning technique that guarantees minimal delay in obtaining inference results with a local mobile cloud system. The proposed technique comprises two algorithms (a) deadline-based initial resource provisioning and (b) resource migration and provisioning at suitable cloudlet during location change. The proposed technique is implemented in a mobile cloud platform running the inference method of a smart mobile healthcare application. The performance results show that the proposed technique outperforms the state-of-the-art techniques in terms of the response time, deadline meeting percentage, and system utilization. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Network programming is the act of writing computer codes for communications between programs or processes in different computers across networks. It is crucial for applications and services using networks, including e-commerce, gaming, and social media. However, university courses of educating it are very limited. As a result, it has become important to develop and offer IT tools to support self-studies of network programming by novices. In this paper, we present a study of two types of introductory exercise problems, namely, Grammar-concept Understanding Problem (GUP) and Comment Insertion Problem (CIP), for self-studies of five basic network protocols of TCP/IP, ARP, SMTP, POP3, and SSH with Python. A GUP instance requests to answer the keyword such as a library function in the given source code that corresponds to the grammar concept described in the question. A CIP instance requests to insert the comment at each blank of the code. String matching is adopted to mark any answer at the browser-based answer interface. Through solving them, it is expected to understand the meaning of important words and the code structure for network programming. As preliminary evaluations, we generated six GUP and CIP instances respectively, and assigned them to 10 students in Okayama University, Japan. The results confirmed that the proposal is proper for novices to learn network programming with Python. © 2023 ACM.

Recently Smart Home concept has been a popular choice as a solution for emerging security related problems. The primary objective of this research was to create a cyber-threat free fully functioning smart home monitoring and anti-theft alarming system with enhanced physical security mechanisms. The focus of this research was to create a holistic and secure smart home system, combining cutting-edge physical security measures. The study introduced novel Intruder Access Prevention methods rooted in human behavior and voice pattern recognition, while also incorporating blockchain and network traffic analysis to safeguard the homeowner's data. Furthermore, a pioneering voice-controlled monitoring mechanism, utilizing protective energy-saving plug technology, was devised to enhance safety within contemporary households. The human behavior recognition and voice recognition-based intruder access prevention system demonstrated over 80% accuracy in intruder prevention, while user data protection mechanism prevents the communication channel from cyber hackings. Further, the smart plug demonstrates reliable and accurate physical environment monitoring with minimum latency. These results underscore the system's significant contribution to home security, marking a noteworthy advancement in the Smart Home concept.

In an era of heightened digital interconnectedness, businesses increasingly rely on third-party vendors to enhance their operational capabilities. However, this growing dependency introduces significant security risks, making it crucial to develop a robust framework to mitigate potential vulnerabilities. This paper proposes a comprehensive secure framework for managing third-party vendor risk, integrating blockchain technology to ensure transparency, traceability, and immutability in vendor assessments and interactions. By leveraging blockchain, the framework enhances the integrity of vendor security audits, ensuring that vendor assessments remain up-to-date and tamperproof. This proposed framework leverages smart contracts to reduce human error while ensuring real-time monitoring of compliance and security controls. By evaluating critical security controls - such as data encryption, access control mechanisms, multi-factor authentication, and zero-trust architecture - this approach strengthens an organization's defense against emerging cyber threats. Additionally, continuous monitoring enabled by blockchain ensures the immutability and transparency of vendor compliance processes. In this paper, a case study on iHealth's transition to AWS Cloud demonstrates the practical implementation of the framework, showing a significant reduction in vulnerabilities and marked improvement in incident response times. Through the adoption of this blockchain-enabled approach, organizations can mitigate vendor risks, streamline compliance, and enhance their overall security posture. Our findings highlight the importance of employing blockchain to enforce security controls and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. In this paper, we present a comprehensive set of security controls and demonstrate how blockchain technology enhances their effectiveness, ensuring greater transparency, accountability, and automation in vendor assessments. In realistic distributed optimization scenarios, individual nodes possess only partial information and communicate over bandwidth constrained channels. For this reason, the development of efficient distributed algorithms is essential. In our paper we addresses the challenge of unconstrained distributed optimization. In our scenario each node's local function exhibits strong convexity with Lipschitz continuous gradients. The exchange of information between nodes occurs through 3-bit bandwidth-limited channels (i.e., nodes exchange messages represented by a only 3 -bits). Our proposed algorithm respects the network's bandwidth constraints by leveraging zoom-in and zoom-out operations to adjust quantizer parameters dynamically. We show that during our algorithm's operation nodes are able to converge to the exact optimal solution. Furthermore, we show that our algorithm achieves a linear convergence rate to the optimal solution. We conclude the paper with simulations that highlight our algorithm's unique characteristics. © 2024 IEEE.

Industrial Internet of Things can improve critical infrastructure in energy, transportation, and manufacturing. However, IIoT device and system integration opened security weaknesses that bad actors may exploit, causing huge disruptions and financial losses. IoT network security and privacy must be prioritized to protect key infrastructure. IIoT security issues and solutions are examined in this research. First, we take a look at the state of security and the unique risks that industrial IoT devices are up against, including hacking, illegal access, and cyber-physical assaults. Then, to lessen the impact of these dangers, we investigate cutting-edge security solutions, such as authentication, encryption, and access control systems. Building a robust security architecture specifically for IIoT applications is one of the main goals of the project. To improve safety and anonymity, this system uses cutting-edge innovation like blockchain, AI, and edge computing. We also talk about how privacy-preserving methods like differential privacy and anonymization are important for keeping sensitive information safe while allowing data sharing for analysis and operations. We assess the efficacy of the suggested security protocols and procedures using a battery of case studies and simulations. Reducing the attack surface and improving the resilience of IIoT systems can be achieved by a multi-layered security approach that includes effective privacy protections. We conclude by outlining our research's larger implications, which include the importance of standardization, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder collaboration in ensuring the safe and privacy-protecting deployment of IIoT technologies in vital infrastructure. Protecting vital infrastructure from cyber threats is our ultimate goal, and our work helps build IIoT systems that are more secure and dependable. © 2024 IEEE.

In transiting from one civilization to another, technology has played a vital and positive role. In the 21st century, one of the digital developments that is paving ways for human life improvement is machine-assisted technology using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Artificial Intelligence has successfully enhanced man's capacity in solving complex problems and processes. However, as developed nations continue to reap from the adoption of AI in various fields of human endeavors, the continent of Africa has remained behind, especially in AI-based skills and research. Various governments in developing nations have encouraged the adoption of AI, especially in institutions of learning. However, theoretical adoption without practical experience has remained an ineffective way of bridging the digital divide. In this paper we present the outcome of a practical approach to bridging the AI divide among students and researchers in Africa through funding support from the Google TensorFlow College Outreach Award. A 3-day hybrid bootcamp was organized (11th to 13th December, 2023) using the Google funding in order to equip postgraduate students and researchers with AI and collaborative research skills. A pre-survey method was employed to ascertain the knowledge level of the bootcamp participants. From the pre-surveyed feedback, training sessions on various AI domains were presented, and participant equipped with practical AI skills using a deployed AI-based cloud programming platform running on the private Federated Genomic Cloud (FEDGEN) infrastructure at Covenant University. A post-survey feedback was used to ascertain the effectiveness of this approach. A comparative analysis of the pre-survey and post-survey reveals a 70% improvement of AI skills among participants. This shows that having continuous training session for students and researchers is an effective method in closing the AI skills gap between developed and developing nations. © 2024 IEEE.
