With the growing demand for wireless networks, network traffic has surged, particularly involving large-scale data transmission. This results in an increased number of network security threats and the emergence of various cyber-attacks. To overcome these threats, the development of an efficient intrusion detection system (IDS) has become crucial. By leveraging the recent advancements in Artificial intelligence (AI), this project introduces an optimized deep learning mechanism utilizing a prevalent deep learning model, the Deep Neural Network (DNN) algorithm. This proposed method uses feature engineering techniques like feature selection and feature reduction. Given the high dimensionality of the selected datasets, these techniques are employed to prevent over-fitting. Recursive feature elimination performs feature selection followed by Principal Component Analysis for the feature reduction process, thus enhancing the model's efficiency. The system is assessed using two benchmark datasets: KDD and UNSW-NB15. The experimental results indicate that the presented DNN model on the KDD dataset has achieved 92.45% accuracy and 91.35% accuracy on the UNSW-NB15 dataset for intrusion classification.

Today's computer networks are threatened by Trojan horse assaults and other cybersecurity dangers. We propose and evaluate deep learning methods using the Kaggle-hosted Trojan Detection dataset to detect Trojan horse assaults. This project uses these approaches. Our malware detection technology uses CNN classification for accuracy. We clean and enhance the dataset to make the model more versatile. Due to extensive testing and optimization, Trojan horse detection rates reach 98.47%. We found that the deep learning architecture accurately identifies malware. We also discuss CNN model features that illuminate Trojan horse attacks. The technique offers complete cyber security and expands our knowledge of harmful software. Deep learning may boost cybersecurity defenses against emerging attacks like Trojan horses, according to our study. © 2024 IEEE.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are a leading health concern, projected to affect 23.6 million people by 2030. Despite extensive research, challenges remain in conventional diagnostic accuracy and limited healthcare access in low-income communities. Current computing methods for detecting CVD rely on costly medical tests. Subsequently, prior studies have documented many inconsistent insights on the development of CVD due to variations in study design and demographics. This research addresses these gaps by studying the potential of incorporating demographics and behavioral risk factors for CVD detection and experimenting with various modeling and sampling techniques to address imbalanced target distributions and improve detection accuracy. The resampled BRFSS dataset was subjected to regression analysis to capture demographic trends in CVD development, with two cross-referenced datasets for comparison. Association rule mining identified key risk factors linked to CVD. Classifiers, including XGBoost, Random Forest, SVM, Multilayer Perceptron, and Logistic Regression, were used to establish baseline performance, and these classifiers were integrated into CatBoost as a meta-classifier using a stacking ensemble approach. Our findings indicate that demographic factors significantly influence CVD development, but effects vary by region, culture, and lifestyle. Key risk factors such as diabetes, smoking, and stroke were identified as significant contributors to CVD. Our experiment results show that leveraging full features set with fine-tuned ensemble stacking techniques increases model performance and achieves an accuracy of 96%. Our research contributes valuable insights into the consistency of demographic effects and identifies key risk factors for CVD. The proposed ensemble model demonstrates exceptional performance, highlighting its potential as a cost-effective tool for early cardiac detection and improved healthcare accessibility. © 2024 IEEE.

This study examines the academic field of Artificial Intelligence in Education (AI-ED) by examining the publications and indexed documents in Scopus from 2010 to 2023. Consequently, we examined the publishing trends, exemplary articles, and the most engaged participants and funding institutions in the domain of AI-ED research. A bibliometric analysis was performed to examine the network of co-authorships, keywords, and citations in the domain of AIED research. The Scopus search resulted in the discovery of 10,474 published documents on AI-ED. Additionally, trends analysis indicated a significant increase of over 3,000% in publications between 2010 and 2023. Conference papers are the most often utilized document type, including 6757 publications or 64.5% of the overall amount. The ACM International Conference Proceeding Series is the primary source for published materials, accounting for 675 publications or 6.44% of the total publications on the topic. The most prolific researchers in the field of AI-ED are Breazeal, C and Chai C.S, each having published 18 documents. Additionally, the two institutions that have produced the highest number of published documents are Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and the University of NC State University (NCSU). The output of the affiliations active in the topic is primarily attributed to the funders, specifically the National science Foundation, which is the leading funding institution based in the United States and has contributed to 354 publications. An analysis of keyword co-occurrence revealed 6 main study areas that cover the essential tools, theories, methodologies, and socioeconomic and financial aspects of artificial intelligence in education (AIED). Future research in the field of artificial intelligence in education will focus on employing sophisticated deep learning, machine learning, and neural network algorithms to precisely predict students' learning patterns. © 2024 IEEE.

The immune system plays a crucial role in defending the body against diseases, making it vital to develop models that can accurately predict immune system strength. This study presents an Enhanced Deep Learning Strategy (EDLS) designed to predict immune system strength based on immune-related biomarkers such as White Blood Cell (WBC) count and Immunoglobulins. A dataset consisting of 23,654 records with 12 features was collected from clinical sources. The data underwent comprehensive preprocessing, including noise reduction using a Median Filter, feature selection with Random Forest, and data fusion using Kalman Filters. The EDLS model integrates AutoEncoder for dimensionality reduction and Cascaded Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) for capturing temporal dependencies. The proposed model outperforms nine traditional and advanced machine learning models, including Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), with an accuracy of 94.72%. Evaluation metrics such as Precision (92.01%), Recall (93.77%), and F1-Score (92.88%) highlight the model's effectiveness in predicting immune system strength. Feature importance analysis reveals that WBC count and Immunoglobulins are the most influential predictors. This study demonstrates the potential of EDLS for enhancing immune strength prediction, which can have significant implications for personalized healthcare and disease prevention. © 2024 IEEE.

Traffic sign recognition systems are crucial for the navigation and situation awareness of autonomous vehicles. They leverage deep learning technologies to swiftly and accurately identify traffic signs, even in the most challenging traffic environments. However, security researchers have uncovered a critical vulnerability in these systems: learning-based TSRs are particularly susceptible to physical-world perturbation attacks. Through subtle modifications (i.e., attaching well-designed patches on traffic signs), attackers can deceive the recognition system into making erroneous judgments, which can further lead to serious traffic accidents. Although several defense mechanisms have been proposed to enhance the security of sign recognition systems, these solutions generally target only specific types of malicious perturbations and thus lack robustness. To address this issue, we present a robust defense mechanism named Shield-U, which restores traffic sign images contaminated by physical patch perturbations, providing credible data for the recognition model. In the process of implementing Shield-U, we first design a feature difference-aware perturbation generator that outputs potential sign contamination patterns. Incorporating generated perturbations during the training phase enables our restoration model to gain sufficient understanding of diverse perturbation types, thus enhancing its ability to repair various perturbed signs. Following this, we build an attention-driven restoration network to repair sign images. Finally, we evaluate the effectiveness of Shield-U using widely used sign recognition models and public datasets. The results demonstrate that our defense mechanism excels in resisting potential perturbations, increasing the average sign recognition accuracy by 50.4%. © 2024 IEEE.

Over the past decade, the significance of data analytics in health informatics has surged due to the overwhelming influx of multi-modality data. Artificial neural networks have emerged as one of the most important and powerful influences in machine learning, rooted in deep learning. The exact prognostic of cancer remains a challenging problem for healthcare practitioners, even though cancer research has been a steady emphasis throughout the last decades. To increase a patient's chances of survival, early diagnosis is crucial, effectively differentiating between benign and malignant tumors is a considerable challenge. Deep learning has become widely accepted tool among medical researchers as an effective method in this area. A deep autoencoder architecture which was primarily designed for feature extraction is improved by using the Harris Hawk algorithm. Surprisingly, this approach comprises a pre-training step rather than requiring labelled data for training. During this pre-training stage, the proposed Harris Hawk algorithm makes use of exploration, exploitation, and attacking techniques, increasing feature extraction accuracy significantly to an outstanding 93%. This in turn greatly improves the performance of deep auto encoder applications, including those for cell grouping, 3D- brain reconstruction, cancer detection, and the prediction of demographic data. The deep autoencoder optimized using the Harris Hawk method stood out as the obvious choice in terms of accuracy when compared to other autoencoder models including sparse autoencoders (SAE), denoising autoencoders (DAE), contractive autoencoders (CAE)and convolutional autoencoders (CNAE). © 2023 IEEE.

Signature verification,which is a method to distinguish the authenticity of signature images,is a biometric verification technique that can effectively reduce the risk of forged signatures in financial,legal,and other business ***,compared with ordinary images,signature images have the following characteristics:First,the strokes are slim,i.e.,there is less effective ***,the signature changes slightly with the time,place,and mood of the signer,i.e.,it has high intraclass *** challenges lead to the low accuracy of the existing methods based on convolutional neural net-works(CNN).This study proposes an end-to-end multi-path attention inverse dis-crimination network that focuses on the signature stroke parts to extract features by reversing the foreground and background of signature images,which effectively solves the problem of little effective *** solve the problem of high intraclass variability of signature images,we add multi-path attention modules between discriminative streams and inverse streams to enhance the discriminative features of signature ***,a multi-path discrimination loss function is proposed,which does not require the feature representation of the samples with the same class label to be infinitely close,as long as the gap between inter-class distance and the intra-class distance is bigger than the set classification threshold,which radically resolves the problem of high intra-class difference of signature *** addition,this loss can also spur the network to explore the detailed infor-mation on the stroke parts,such as the crossing,thickness,and connection of *** respectively tested on CEDAR,BHSig-Bengali,BHSig-Hindi,and GPDS Synthetic datasets with accuracies of 100%,96.24%,93.86%,and 83.72%,which are more accurate than existing signature verification *** is more helpful to the task of signature authentication in justice and finance.
