Nowadays building works, especially of historic buildings with facades out of natural stone, require continuous maintenance, repair and retrofit works. In order to fulfill the needs for a completely digitized natural stone retrofit process, works are to be projected, planned, conducted and cleared with instrumentation of Building Information Modeling (BIM). Due to this need, a novel knowledge-based stone damage identification system focused on natural stone damage on the basis of BIM is developed, which will present implicitly existing knowledge and information from the building survey explicitly and objectively by using semantic data structures. BIM-SIS is an adaptive damage identification system for natural stone, which allows to virtually merge different natural stone damages, recorded by different information systems and with different procedures, into a holistic damage model. This model is used to assess the damages integrative and in detail, supported by knowledge-based methods, and to develop a uniform and cost-stable remediation strategy. Therefore, the BIM-SIS methodology consists of BIMification for information processes, Ontologies for knowledge representation and Multimodels for data interoperability. The so formed continuous interoperable digital construction representation consists of separate but interlinked domain models. This model structure is then extended for remediation execution management and allows to simply incorporate subsequently detected defects during execution. The complete damage profile is the basis for all further retrofit-creation and calculation processes in BIM-SIS which will automatically lead to user customized retrofit variants presented in VR and AR. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This work presents two methods to find the induced excess voltage in a synchronous generator operating winding during a sudden three-phase shortening of the fixed coil winding. The accidental occurrence of this working state leads to high value flask currents which, due to heat density and dynamic loading, affect the fixed coil windings. These currents induce excess voltages that negatively influence the measuring equipment. We establish in this work equations to determine this excess voltage when the synchronous generator's parameters are known. The equations were validated by shortening tests on the synchronous generator. © 2019 Politechnica University of Bucharest. All rights reserved.

Distributed Generation (DG) studies are generally conducted considering a single type of DG units integrated with the Distribution System (DS). However, these studies may not evaluate optimum benefits offered by the DG integration. This paper presents a novel framework for individual and simultaneous allocation of different types of DG units in DS while considering varying load demand and probabilistic generation of DG units. A Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based new hybrid method that utilizes a single controlling parameter is proposed for simultaneous allocation of DG units, aiming to minimize a multi-objective index. The strength of the proposed SSA-PSO hybrid approach is validated on seventeen benchmark functions and the performance of the novel framework for optimal allocation of DG units is validated through implementation on the IEEE 69-bus system. The results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid approach performs better as compared to other meta-heuristics techniques. Moreover, simultaneous allocation significantly reduces the multi-objective index as compared to individual DG units’ integration. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

It is recognized that the kernels of human knowledge and theories of abstract sciences have been archived in mathematical forms with indispensable generality and abstractedness [1]–[8]. Intelligent Mathematics (IM) [8]–[14] is contemporary mathematics for manipulating complex mathematical entities in the brain and intelligence systems known as hyperstructures ( $\mathbb{H}$ ) for formalizing rigorous expressions, inferences, and computational intelligence generation. $\mathbb{H}$ [8] are nonnumerical abstract entities beyond those of real numbers ( $\mathbb{R}$ ) and bits ( $\mathbb{B}$ ). Therefore, IM becomes highly demanded across modern Abstract Sciences [15]–[17] as counterparts of classic entity-oriented Concrete Sciences.

The Digital Twin as a Core Component for Industry 4.0 Smart Production Planning

Production systems that adhere the Industry 4.0 vision require new ways of control and integration of individual components, such as robots, transportation system shuttles or mobile platforms. This paper proposes a new production system control concept based on closing a feedback loop between a production planning system and a digital twin of the physical production system. The digital twin keeps up-to-date information about the current state of the physical production system and it is combined with the production planner utilizing artificial intelligence methods. Production recipes and concrete process instantiations are planned for each production order on-the-fly, based on the production system state retrieved form the digital twin. This approach provides a high flexibility in terms of ability to add and to remove products as well as production resources. It also enables error recovery by re-planning the production if some failure happens. The proposed approach is tested and evaluated on an internally hosted Industry 4.0 testbed, which confirms its efficiency and flexibility

Image enhancement and segmentation is widely used for fingerprint identification and authorization in biometrics devices, criminal scene is most challenges due to low quality of fingerprint, the most significant efforts is to develop algorithm for latent fingerprint enhancement which become challenging problem due to the complex and existing problem for instance, developing algorithms of latent fingerprint is able to extract features of image blocks and removing overlapping and isolate the poor and noisy background. however, it's still challenging and interested problem specifically latent fingerprint enhancement and segmentation. The aim study of this paper is to propose latent fingerprint enhancement and segmentation based on hybrid model and Chan-Vese method for segmentation, in order to reduce low image quality and increase the accuracy of fingerprint. The desired characteristics of intended technique are adaptive, effective and accurate, hybrid model of edge adaptive direction achieves accurate latent fingerprint enhancement and segmentation, the target needs to improve feature detection and performance, this research has proposed system architecture of research method in fingerprint enhancement and segmentation where is the method content two stages, the first is normalization and second is reconstruction, using EDTV model is required for adaptive noise, in addition Chan-vase technique contributed for identification of fingerprint image features, the result and testing using RMSE with three categories of fingerprint images good, bad and ugly show better performance for all three categories, as well RMSE shows the average of good latent fingerprint before and after enhancement. Biometrics such as face, fingerprint, iris, voice and palm prints are the most widely used, and as well the fingerprints are one of the most frequently used biometrics to identify individuals and authenticate their identity. commonly categorized into three different categories which are rolled, plain and latent fingerprints. The reliability of image segmentation for latent fingerprint which is used in criminal issues still challenges, The difficulty of latent fingerprint image segmentation mainly lies in the poor quality of fingerprint patterns and the presence of the noise in the background, This research has investigated the fingerprint segmentation and matching based on EDTV and presented Chan-vese active contour segmentation technique, in addition, presented NIST SD27 for grayscale dataset of latent fingerprint which is standard by National institute of Standard and Technology, where is dataset have varieties of fingerprint image samples, a total about 258 of latent fingerprint, those samples collected from crime scenes and matching fingerprint and shown the performance of matching accuracy ROC and CMC curves, To evaluate the performance of the matching ROC and CMC curves has been deployed, The area under curve (AUC) of the ROC of the good images performance is 72% with CMC rank1-idnetification of 42% and rank-20 identification of 79%. the result shows that the latent fingerprint method performance is better for good latent fingerprint images compare to bad and ugly images, while there is no much difference for bad and ugly image. © 2021 IEEE.

Domain-specific synonyms occur in many specialized search tasks, such as when searching medical documents, legal documents, and software engineering artifacts. We replicate prior work on ranking domain-specific synonyms in the consumer health domain by applying the approach to a new language and domain: identifying Swedish language synonyms in the building construction domain. We chose this setting because identifying synonyms in this domain is helpful for downstream systems, where different users may query for documents (e.g., engineering requirements) using different terminology. We consider two new features inspired by the change in language and methodological advances since the prior work’s publication. An evaluation using data from the building construction domain supports the finding from the prior work that synonym discovery is best approached as a learning to rank task in which a human editor views ranked synonym candidates in order to construct a domain-specific thesaurus. We additionally find that FastText embeddings alone provide a strong baseline, though they do not perform as well as the strongest learning to rank method. Finally, we analyze the performance of individual features and the differences in the domains. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

A Toolchain for the Development of Agent-Based Smart Grid Control Solutions

The energy transition necessitates a variety of control solutions to integrate renewables-based energy generation and unlock demand-side flexibility. To contribute to solving this challenge, the authors built a toolchain for developing smart grid control solutions. This toolchain consists of methodological, conceptual and technological components. In this contribution, we detail the way in which the toolchain facilitates the continuous utilization of control software artifacts across simulations, testbeds and deployment. This capability has the potential to significantly reduce engineering effort and build trust in agent-based control solutions for smart grids.
