Context: Decentralized autonomous organizations as a new form of online governance are collections of smart contracts deployed on a blockchain platform that intercede groups of people. A growing number of Decentralized Autonomous Organization Platforms, such as Aragon and Colony, have been introduced in the market to facilitate the development process of such organizations. Selecting the best fitting platform is challenging for the organizations, as a significant number of decision criteria, such as popularity, developer availability, governance issues, and consistent documentation of such platforms, should be considered. Additionally, decision-makers at the organizations are not experts in every domain, so they must continuously acquire volatile knowledge regarding such platforms and keep themselves updated. Accordingly, a decision model is required to analyze the decision criteria using systematic identification and evaluation of potential alternative solutions for a development project. Method: We have developed a theoretical framework to assist software engineers with a set of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making problems in software production. This study presents a decision model as a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making problem for the decentralized autonomous organization platform selection problem to capture knowledge regarding such platforms and concepts systematically. Results: We conducted three industry case studies in the context of three decentralized autonomous organizations to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the decision model in assisting decision-makers. The case study participants declared that the decision model provides significantly more insight into their selection process and reduces the cost of the decision-making process. Conclusion: We find that with empirical evidence from the case studies, that decision-makers can make more rational, efficient, and effective decisions with the decision model when they meet their requirements and priori

Features in a software system usually must satisfy different quality expectations, arising e.g., from their usage context or the long-term strategy of the manufacturer. As an example, the maintainability of the source code will likely be more important if the associated feature is frequently used by customers or if it has strategic value for the software manufacturer. Accordingly, features that process user-generated near real-time data will likely impose higher requirements towards performance efficiency than other features of the same application for maintaining the user profile. In order to practically approach these qualitative subtleties particularly in a DevOps context, we need an operational means to specify and automatically evaluate the fulfillment of these feature-dependent non-functional requirements, e.g., through quantitative constraints. However, the multitude of systems involved in DevOps and the heterogeneous data types of measures accruing on these systems hinder their effortless acquisition and automated *** this paper we present an operational constraint language for specifying and evaluating feature-dependent non-functional requirements quantitatively. Our language provides a compact set of time series operations, time filters, and comparison operators and allows to define metrical and ordinal threshold values. A comprehensive evaluation based on a large-scale software project with measures spanning the period over one year shows the performance and suitability of the approach for evaluating feature- dependent non-functional requirements specially in DevOps.

Advanced robotic assembly systems are promising great benefits to the manufacturing sector, once the shortcomings of the current technologies are overcome. One of the biggest obstacles to introducing flexible robotic systems is the ability of robots to sense and perceive the semi-structured or unstructured environment. This paper presents a cyber-physical system based framework of a robotic assembly cell that is capable of recognizing resources of assembly processes, based on information from various visual sensors and updating and adapting the assembly plan in the digital twin of the robotic cell. Thus, calculates and executes feasible motion plans of the robots based on accurate digital information. The application of the framework is demonstrated in a physical assembly process.

In automated production systems, an increasing proportion of functionality is implemented by control software. However, currently most companies do not implement variant and version management for their control software and, thus, lack a global knowledge base on existing software variants and versions. Further, despite its known drawbacks, i.e., low maintainability, the reuse strategy copy, paste & modify is commonly applied, leading to an even higher amount of unmanaged, historically grown software variants and versions. Since the resulting control software contains a vast amount of essential domain knowledge, strategies for its planned reuse are required. Therefore, this paper presents a workflow to enable the transfer from copy, paste & modify to planned reuse by analyzing the historically grown control software variants and deriving reusable library modules from them. For the library module development from multiple sources, an interaction concept is proposed, which has been evaluated partially through a prototypical implementation.

The article deals with the problems of speed and timeliness of the development of control actions from digital management systems. Generalization of researches is given. The role of mathematical applications of game theory for the role in the implementation of fog and boundary computations in the paradigm of the development of digital signal processing systems as well as their optimization value are substantiated.A particular generalization is developed and is given from the processing of an encoded signal sequence that demonstrates the operation of a humidity sensor from the viewpoint of bringing it to the basis of an antagonistic game in order to determine the optimal strategy of the device's behaviour at a given time *** practical significance of the study is confirmed by a new approach to the implementation of economic methods for analysis of probabilistic outcomes within the framework of game theory in an algorithm for analysis of a digital signal for a linear comparator of recorded physical quantities in the form of digital levels. Among the plethora of industrial standards available in the context of smart manufacturing, one series of standards is consistently being mentioned for dealing with manufacturing operations management: IEC 62264. Its second part provides a conceptual model for the description of production systems and their capabilities, including runtime information such as concrete maintenance schedules or achieved production goals. In this work, we present a concrete graphical syntax and toolkit for the creation and presentation of IEC 62264-2 compliant models, using techniques from model-driven (software) engineering. We have evaluated our tool by conducting a user study for assessing its usability and effectiveness.

Daily millions of images are uploaded and download to the web, as a result the data is available in the paperless form in the computer system for organization. Nowadays, with the help of powerful computer software such as Photoshop and Corel Draw, it is very easy to alter the contents of the authenticated image without leaving any clues. This led to a big problem due to the negative impact of image splicing. It is highly recommended to develop image tampering detection technique to recognize the authentic and temper images. In this paper, we propose an enhanced technique for blind images splicing by combing Discrete Cosine Transform Domain (DTC) and Markov feature in the spatial domain. Moreover, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used to select the most significant features. Finally, Support Vector Machine (SVM) is applied to classify the image as being tempered or genuine on the publicly available dataset using ten-fold cross-validation. By applying different statistical techniques, the results showed that the proposed technique performs better than other available detection techniques in the literature. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Binary neural networks (BNNs) have received increasing attention due to their superior reductions of computation and memory. Most existing works focus on either lessening the quantization error by minimizing the gap between the full-precision weights and their binarization or designing a gradient approximation to mitigate the gradient mismatch, while leaving the "dead weights" untouched. This leads to slow convergence when training BNNs. In this paper, for the first time, we explore the influence of "dead weights" which refer to a group of weights that are barely updated during the training of BNNs, and then introduce rectified clamp unit (ReCU) to revive the "dead weights" for updating. We prove that reviving the "dead weights" by ReCU can result in a smaller quantization error. Besides, we also take into account the information entropy of the weights, and then mathematically analyze why the weight standardization can benefit BNNs. We demonstrate the inherent contradiction between minimizing the quantization error and maximizing the information entropy, and then propose an adaptive exponential scheduler to identify the range of the "dead weights". By considering the "dead weights", our method offers not only faster BNN training, but also state-of-the-art performance on CIFAR-10 and ImageNet, compared with recent methods.
