The field of architecture,engineering,and construction(AEC)is continually striving to use resources efficiently and manage complex *** more than ever,there is a strong need for digital transformation in *** improvement in the accessibility of consumer-based head-mounted displays(HMD)is attracting different entertainment and research fields to immersive virtual reality(VR)*** Information Modeling(BIM)is known as a promising technology in *** full potential of BIM is not yet employed to empower this field,however,and this could be a result of some barriers still to be surmounted by BIM in both technological and management *** of these barriers is the communication and collaboration between design,construction,operation,and maintenance *** can fill this gap by providing additional capabilities for BIM which either were not available before or were not possible to employ in practical *** this paper,we systematically review recent research around the application of VR in BIM and discuss the results using the PRISMA *** discuss the most commonly used technologies,software,and evaluation methods and the various applications of VR in the reviewed ***,we extend the discussion by summarizing the potential future work in this area.

This paper describes the current and future aspects of Digital Nudging and Digital Persuasion (DNDP). To find this, a case study approach has been followed, such as, we organized a workshop event aimed at supporting citizens and stakeholders in applying digital nudging and persuasion strategies to increase individuals' competency and self-efficacy beliefs for goal attainment. The workshop was structured with a total of three research papers presentation, a keynote talk, and an open discussion. Over 30 participants in a hybrid mode attended the event and engaged in solving different nudge and persuasion-based tasks via technology-mediated solutions. The results have shown that there needs work to enhance the capacity of using digital nudging and persuasion techniques to achieve a more sustainable behavioral change in individuals for a healthy digitalized community with a view to transparency from policy to practice. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Recommender systems assist users in decision-making, where the presentation of recommended items and their explanations are critical factors for enhancing the overall user experience. Although various methods for generating explanations have been proposed, there is still room for improvement, particularly for users who lack expertise in a specific item domain. In this study, we introduce the novel concept of consequence-based explanations, a type of explanation that emphasizes the individual impact of consuming a recommended item on the user, which makes the effect of following recommendations clearer. We conducted an online user study to examine our assumption about the appreciation of consequence-based explanations and their impacts on different explanation aims in recommender systems. Our findings highlight the importance of consequence-based explanations, which were well-received by users and effectively improved user satisfaction in recommender systems. These results provide valuable insights for designing engaging explanations that can enhance the overall user experience in decision-making. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Space agencies are in the process of drawing up carefully thought-out Concepts of Operations (ConOps) for future human missions on the Moon. These are typically assessed and validated through costly and logistically demanding analogue field studies. While interactive simulations in Virtual Reality (VR) offer a comparatively cost-effective alternative, they have faced criticism for lacking the fidelity of real-world deployments. This paper explores the applicability of passive haptic interfaces in bridging the gap between simulated and real-world ConOps assessments. Leveraging passive haptic props (equipment mockup and astronaut gloves), we virtually recreated the Apollo 12 mission procedure and assessed it with experienced astronauts and other space experts. Quantitative and qualitative findings indicate that haptics increased presence and embodiment, thus improving perceived simulation fidelity and validity of user reflections. The game development industry is among the leading industries globally, and in 2020, gaming emerged as a popular entertainment activity upon the COVID-19 outbreak. Thus, competition among gaming companies is high. Hence, they try to adopt new technologies often. Gaming brings multiple feelings for the gamer. At times, the conditions may get even worse from the game's end where the gamer may end up venting out his rage and annoyance. Hence, there is a massive possibility for the gamer to switch to another game which may result in the company to lose its customers. In that scenario, this system can monitor the emotional states of the gamer while playing and manipulate the gaming environment, sound environment, enemy behavior, and gamer mechanism according to the emotional state of the gamer. The sensor-based emotion tracking system identifies the gamer's emotional state using facial emotions, detected through a webcam and heart rate, detected through sensors. The development was carried out through the machine learning models, open cv, Arduino techniques, and reactive programming. The emotional state and facial emotions that will be tracked will count to an accuracy of above 95%. Through that, the target will be to make the gamer satisfied by building appreciation for the services given and by improving the gamer's gaming experience and retain the gamer with the game provider. © 2021 IEEE.

Inductive Knowledge Graph Reasoning for Multi-batch Emerging Entities

Over the years, reasoning over knowledge graphs (KGs), which aims to infer new conclusions from known facts, has mostly focused on static KGs. The unceasing growth of knowledge in real life raises the necessity to enable the inductive reasoning ability on expanding KGs. Existing inductive work assumes that new entities all emerge once in a batch, which oversimplifies the real scenario that new entities continually appear. This study dives into a more realistic and challenging setting where new entities emerge in multiple batches. We propose a walk-based inductive reasoning model to tackle the new setting. Specifically, a graph convolutional network with adaptive relation aggregation is designed to encode and update entities using their neighboring relations. To capture the varying neighbor importance, we employ a query-aware feedback attention mechanism during the aggregation. Furthermore, to alleviate the sparse link problem of new entities, we propose a link augmentation strategy to add trustworthy facts into KGs. We construct three new datasets for simulating this multi-batch emergence scenario. The experimental results show that our proposed model outperforms state-of-the-art embedding-based, walk-based and rule-based models on inductive KG reasoning. © 2022, CC BY.

Existing knowledge graph (KG) embedding models have primarily focused on static KGs. However, real-world KGs do not remain static, but rather evolve and grow in tandem with the development of KG applications. Consequently, new facts and previously unseen entities and relations continually emerge, necessitating an embedding model that can quickly learn and transfer new knowledge through growth. Motivated by this, we delve into an expanding field of KG embedding in this paper, i.e., lifelong KG embedding. We consider knowledge transfer and retention of the learning on growing snapshots of a KG without having to learn embeddings from scratch. The proposed model includes a masked KG autoencoder for embedding learning and update, with an embedding transfer strategy to inject the learned knowledge into the new entity and relation embeddings, and an embedding regularization method to avoid catastrophic forgetting. To investigate the impacts of different aspects of KG growth, we construct four datasets to evaluate the performance of lifelong KG embedding.
