Data analysis and processing of manufacturing process is significant to ensure the stable production safety, maintain quality stabilization, and optimize production profit. Practical manufacturing process often has complex characteristics, such as multimode, nonlinearity, etc. Mode division can divide manufacturing process into multiple modes and is useful for subsequent process monitoring and scheduling optimizing. In this paper, density peaks clustering (DPC) based on multiple distance measures is used for mode division in manufacturing process. Multiple distance measures for computing the local density and minimum distance between the point and any other point with higher density in DPC are compared and analyzed. To illustrate the effectiveness of the clustering method for mode division in manufacturing process, experiments are developed based on penicillin fermentation process and practical foods industrial production process. Experimental results verify the feasibility and efficiency of the clustering method for mode division in manufacturing process.

This paper proposes a real-time algorithm that recommends battery swapping stations (BSSs) to electric taxis (ETs) that need their batteries swapped. The algorithm takes into consideration available batteries at BSSs, driving ranges of ETs and the current traffic conditions, etc, in order to avoid long queues at BSSs. We consider a basic model that assumes past decisions are perfectly executed, and formulate an optimal ET-to-BSS assignment problem. This problem is an integer program and therefore hard to scale. For real-time implementation, we approximate the optimal assignment problem by a repeated potential game and propose an iterative best response algorithm to compute ET-to-BSS assignments. Preliminary numerical results suggest that our heuristic algorithm solves the optimal assignment problem approximately.

Finite element and boundary element models of the standard wheel, damping wheels and S-type damping wheels were established and compared. The radial vibration and axial vibration of the standard wheel could be reduced to decrease the vibro-acoustic radiation. Regarding damping wheels and S-type damping wheels, the coupling between the radial vibration and axial vibrations of 1 pitch circle could be reduced to decrease the radiation noise. The vibration acceleration in the tread, rim and web plate was significantly improved after applying damping in the standard wheel. If the web plate was changed into S-type structure, the vibration acceleration of the wheel at three positions was further reduced. The radiation noise of S-type damping wheels was significantly improved. The radiation noise of the web plate was significantly greater than that of the tread, which was caused by the larger radiation area of the web plate. © JVE INTERNATIONAL LTD.

In this paper, we first propose a self-tuning adaptive distributed observer for a multi-agent system, which is capable of providing the estimation of the leader's signal to various followers without assuming all the followers know the system matrix of the leader and which avoids calculating the observer gain off-line. We then further develop an adaptive distributed control law to solve the cooperative output regulation problem for linear heterogeneous multi-agent systems. This control law offers two advantages in that it makes the least use of the information of the network and the information of the leader system, and it avoids calculating the observer gain.

the brake system is meeting with an important opportunity and challenge with the research of the civil aircraft deeply. This paper describes the main techniques of the brake system for the famous civil aircraft A380 and B787. And points out the developing trend of civil aircraft brake system, including the electric brake technology, the auto-brake technology, the advanced control law or control policy, the system integration technology, the redundant control, the fault detection, the system reconfiguration technology, the green taxiing control and the brake system auxiliary measures. Comparing the difference of here and abroad advanced technology, some viewpoints about the development of aircraft brake system are proposed.

A new method of failure detection for damaged or floating control surface is proposed, which is only based on the information of electric actuator, avoiding the combined effects caused by the concurrent failure of control surfaces. By constructing the model of actuator system and observing the characteristics of internal physical parameters of actuator under floating/damage failure, the relationship between actuator’s armature current and the failure mode is found and the judgment theorem is given. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified by simulation example. The comparison of performance between the proposed method and the traditional FDI (failure detection and identification) method (Filter Method) on detecting concurrent failure of control surfaces is showed. The results suggest that the proposed failure detection method is efficient and accurate in detecting and locating the failure regardless of whether or not the system noise is considered. This method is independent from the complexity of the flight control system since it is only based on single electric actuator. Therefore it could be used for both linear system and nonlinear system. The proposed failure detection method is efficient and applicable in realistic engineering scenario. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.

Terrain-based localization is an alternate to the global positioning system (GPS) in signal blocked areas. However, terrain-based localization technique may suffer from low accuracy or even fail when brake vibration occurs. This paper presents a real-time algorithm for vehicle localization which is robust against brake vibration. The input includes a reference map of pitch difference and measurements from rear wheel encoders and inertial measurement units (IMU). This method consists of two steps. In the first step, terrain map is generated using pitch difference at equidistant intervals. After that, the Bayesian inference and particle filters are adopted in the second step to identify the vehicle location during travel. To enhance system stability, we propose dynamic distributions of filter variances according to acceleration input. Experimental results demonstrate that the localization method with dynamic distributions can localize the vehicle quickly with high accuracy even when a quite severe shuddering happens.

In the article we develop an approach to the study of nonlinear problems of mathematical physics, proposed in A. F. Sidorov’s school of thought, and apply it to solving boundary value problems with degeneracy for the nonlinear heat (porous medium) equation. The essence of the approach is that the solution of problems is constructed in the form of multiple power series. The convergence of the constructed series is proved by the majorant method. It allows us to propose the existence and uniqueness theorem, which is analogous to the Cauchy-Kovalevskaya theorem for the considered problem. A constructive scheme for finding the coefficients of the series is proposed. A special feature of the study is that the boundary condition is given on a moving closed manifold.

A degenerate nonlinear parabolic-type equation with a specified source function is solved. Boundary value problems for various kinds of boundary conditions are considered. Solution algorithms based on the boundary element method are constructed. Some examples are discussed. The comparison of the obtained BEM solutions with known exact solutions gives good results.
