As of the first week of May 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic is present in 212 nations globally. Many countries have enforced lockdown measures strategically to slow down the epidemic's spread, with the objective of relieving pressure on healthcare systems. Mathematical modelling serves as a useful tool for the prediction of the future numbers of the infected population and for analyzing the effects of various intervention strategies. In this work, a mathematical model based on ordinary differential equations has been developed for analyzing the impact of an interim relaxation of 5 days at 21 days in a 42 days lockdown period. Results of the simulation demonstrate that the relaxation of 5 days during the 42 days lockdown does not result in any adverse effects if the transmission rate remains the same. However, the model-based analysis suggests that an increase in the transmission rate by a factor of 1.2 times during the relaxation period due to the possible aggregation of the susceptible with the infected, it could shift the growth pattern of infected cases from sub-exponential to exponential.

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are essential for gene expression, and the complex RNA-protein interaction mechanisms require analysis of global RNA information. Therefore, accurate prediction of RBP binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts is crucial for understanding these mechanisms and their roles in diseases. While machine learning methods can predict RBP binding to RNA fragments, extending this to full-length transcripts presents challenges due to sequence length and data imbalance. In this paper, we introduce RBP-Former, a binding site joint prediction model designed specifically for full-length RNA transcripts that can be used for multiple RBPs. This model processes information at both coarse and fine-grained levels to fully exploit sequence data and its interactions with multiple RBPs. We develop multi-level imbalance learning strategies, achieving favorable results on imbalanced data. Our method outperforms existing methods in predicting binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts for multiple RBPs, demonstrating its effectiveness in handling imbalanced label and sample distributions.

Global Navigation Satellite systems (GNSS) can provide real-time positioning information for outdoor users, but cannot for indoor scenarios or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios. Strap-down Inertial Navigation system (SINS) are widely used to locate people in complex interior or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios due to its light weight and low power consumption. However, IMU of SINS are noisy, and the sampling data error is large, which is a divergence of the error with time. Therefore, it will generate a positioning accumulation error, which affects the final positioning accuracy. The problem of cumulative IMU errors is usually dealt with by Zero-Velocity Update (ZUPT). The zero-velocity detection part of basic ZUPT method usually uses a single threshold to determine the gait of pedestrian, which often has the problem of gait misjudgment and omission. To address these problems, this paper proposes a composite conditional detection method to solve the problem of misjudgment in the zero-velocity interval. In addition, we redesign the zero-velocity update algorithm and uses the Cubature Kalman filter (CKF) for pedestrian positioning error correction. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ZUPT method based on dual-threshold detection can better detect the interval between pedestrian motion and stationery than ones with single threshold. The zero-velocity update algorithm based on CKF has higher performance than conventional EKF and UKF methods, which constrains the cumulative error of SINS to about 0.2% of the whole walking distance.

Exploring the source, transformation pathways, and the fate of natural organic matter (NOM) is critical to understanding the regional/global carbon cycle and carbon budget. The dissolved fraction of NOM, i.e., dissolved organic matter (DOM), is a complex mixture resulting from the transformation of plant, animal and microbial matter and plays a crucial role in many biogeochemical processes at the land-ocean-atmosphere interfaces. The advance of Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer (FT-ICR MS) makes the detailed characterization of DOM at the molecular level possible. On the other hand, elucidation of complex DOM sample also presents significant analytical challenges, and these challenges also act as a driving force for the instrumentation and methodology development on FT-ICR MS. This review article has been written to aid those working in biogeochemistry, environmental and atmospheric chemistry, and related areas which investigate elemental cycles and DOM transformations. First, the fundamental theory, historical perspective, and recent advances in the field have been introduced. The detailed molecular characterization of environmental and geological samples continues to present significant analytical challenges, and it also has become a driving force for the development of the instrumentation and experimental methods. These achievements in DOM analysis have had an impact upon the fields of environmental science, geochemistry, and analytical chemistry. Next, varieties of applications of FT-ICR MS have also been described, followed by our view of the future of this technique in earth science research. We believe that this review covers the essential pairing of FT-ICR MS and collectively offers environmental and geochemical scientists a substantial resource for their research. Applications of internet-of-things(IoT)are increasingly being used in many facets of our daily life,which results in an enormous volume of *** computing and fog computing,two of the most common technologies used in IoT applications,have led to major security *** are on the rise as a result of the usage of these technologies since present security measures are *** artificial intelligence(AI)based security solutions,such as intrusion detection systems(IDS),have been proposed in recent *** technologies that require data preprocessing and machine learning algorithm-performance augmentation require the use of feature selection(FS)techniques to increase classification accuracy by minimizing the number of features *** the other hand,metaheuristic optimization algorithms have been widely used in feature selection in recent *** this paper,we proposed a hybrid optimization algorithm for feature selection in *** proposed algorithm is based on grey wolf(GW),and dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithms and is referred to as *** proposed algorithm has a better balance between the exploration and exploitation steps of the optimization process and thus could achieve better *** the employed IoT-IDS dataset,the performance of the proposed GWDTO algorithm was assessed using a set of evaluation metrics and compared to other optimization approaches in 2678 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 the literature to validate its *** addition,a statistical analysis is performed to assess the stability and effectiveness of the proposed *** results confirmed the superiority of the proposed approach in boosting the classification accuracy of the intrusion in IoT-based networks.

To realize the economic optimization dispatch of PSMG (Photovoltaic Storage Micro-grid), considering the stochastic influence of multiple uncertainties, this study formulates a day-ahead optimal dispatching strategy of PSMG with the minimum comprehensive operating cost as the objective function. Firstly, the source-load uncertainty is dealt with by scenario generation using the Monte Carlo method and k-means clustering algorithm. Then the peak shaving ability of the system is enhanced by the introduction of flexible loads, and the scheduling flexibility of the photovoltaic storage system is increased by the integrated demand response increases the scheduling flexibility of the photovoltaic storage system. Finally, simulation results show that the scheduling scheme can prompt the source-load to participate in peak shaving and valley filling at the same time, increase the new energy consumption capacity of the photovoltaic storage micro-grid, and effectively improve the economic and social benefits of the micro-grid.

Model Predictive control with Reach-avoid Analysis

In this paper we investigate the optimal controller synthesis problem, so that the system under the controller can reach a specified target set while satisfying given constraints. Existing model predictive control (MPC) methods learn from a set of discrete states visited by previous (sub-)optimized trajectories and thus result in computationally expensive mixed-integer nonlinear optimization. In this paper a novel MPC method is proposed based on reach-avoid analysis to solve the controller synthesis problem iteratively. The reach-avoid analysis is concerned with computing a reach-avoid set which is a set of initial states such that the system can reach the target set successfully. It not only provides terminal constraints, which ensure feasibility of MPC, but also expands discrete states in existing methods into a continuous set (i.e., reach-avoid sets) and thus leads to nonlinear optimization which is more computationally tractable online due to the absence of integer variables. Finally, we evaluate the proposed method and make comparisons with state-of-the-art ones based on several examples. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The amphibious robot needs to accurately estimate the 6D pose of the target in tasks such as target tracking, docking with the recovery module, and target grasping. The current research on target 6D pose estimation is mainly applied to unoccluded targets, but when the target is occluded, the target's pose cannot be accurately identified. Compared with other algorithms, the PVNet algorithm shows better robustness when target is occluded, but the accuracy is still low. To improve the accuracy of the PVNet algorithm, this paper adds the confidence score prediction of the prediction vector at the last layer of the PVNet network, and designs a vector confidence score loss function to train the network. Before generating the hypothetical keypoints, the pixels whose confidence score is lower than the set threshold are screened out, so that the generated hypothetical 2D keypoints are closer to the true 2D keypoints. Finally, the method in this paper is compared with the Tekin, PoseCNN, Oberweger and Pvnet algorithm, and demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

Highly programmable shape morphing of 4D-printed micro/nanostructures is urgently desired for applications in robotics and intelligent systems. However, due to the lack of autonomous holistic strategies throughout the target shape input, optimal material distribution generation,and fabrication program output, 4D nanoprinting that permits arbitrary shape morphing remains a challenging task for manual design. In this study, we report an autonomous inverse encoding strategy to decipher the genetic code for material property distributions that can guide the encoded modeling toward arbitrarily pre-programmed 4D shape morphing. By tuning the laser power of each voxel at the nanoscale, the genetic code can be spatially programmed and controllable shape morphing can be realized through the inverse encoding process. Using this strategy, the 4D-printed structures can be designed and accurately shift to the target morphing of arbitrarily hand-drawn lines under stimulation. Furthermore, as a proof-of-concept, a flexible fiber micromanipulator that can approach the target region through pre-programmed shape morphing is autonomously inversely encoded according to the localized spatial *** strategy may contribute to the modeling and arbitrary shape morphing of micro/nanostructures fabricated via 4D nanoprinting, leading to cutting-edge applications in microfluidics, micro-robotics, minimally invasive robotic surgery, and tissue engineering.

Aerosol ammonium(NH_(4)^(+)),mainly produced from the reactions of ammonia(NH_(3))with acids in the atmosphere,has significant impacts on air pollution,radiative forcing,and human *** the source and formation mechanism of NH_(4)^(+)can provide scientific insights into air quality ***,the sources of NH_(3)in urban areas are not well understood,and few studies focus on NH_(3)/NH_(4)^(+)at different heights within the atmospheric boundary layer,which hinders a comprehensive understanding of aerosol NH_(4)^(+).In this study,we perform both field observation and modeling studies(the Community Multiscale Air Quality,CMAQ)to investigate regional NH_(3)emission sources and vertically resolved NH_(4)^(+)formation mechanisms during the winter in *** stable nitrogen isotope analyses and CMAQ model suggest that combustion-related NH_(3)emissions,including fossil fuel sources,NH_(3)slip,and biomass burning,are important sources of aerosol NH_(4)^(+)with more than 60%contribution occurring on heavily polluted *** contrast,volatilization-related NH_(3)sources(livestock breeding,N-fertilizer application,and human waste)are dominant on clean ***-related NH_(3)is mostly local from Beijing,and biomass burning is likely an important NH_(3)source(~15%–20%)that was previously *** effective control strategies such as the two-product(e.g.,reducing both SO_(2)and NH_(3))control policy should be considered to improve air quality.
