The rapid increase in the complexity of systems, especially due to the integration of subsystems from different domains into cyber-physical systems, presents unique challenges for efficient verification and validation (V&V) processes to meet all requirements and system properties. To address these challenges and enhance quality assurance processes, it is essential to document and analyze V&V workflows. This paper proposes VVML, a novel approach for easy modeling of V&V activities in different industrial domains with varying constraints, V&V methods, and tool chains. This approach includes a dedicated modeling notation and a supporting modelling tool, enabling the creation of reusable workflows assets, such as V&V activities and artifacts, which can be shared across workflows. The VVML approach has been applied to 10+ industrial use cases. This paper explains the basic principles behind VVML and shows an example of its application to an industrial use case.

This paper presents the results of the investigation of the power supply system of the autonomous monitoring system. In particular, calculations of the system’s daily balance of energy consumption were performed. Also, the question of the influence of the angle of inclination of solar converters on energy generation is considered and the necessity of collecting solar radiation during the whole daylight, not focusing on the maximum amount of energy, is substantiated. This research aimed to develop an algorithm for calculating the power supply system for autonomous monitoring systems. The proposed algorithm takes into account the coordination of diagrams of generation and consumption of energy within the autonomous monitoring station and statistical analysis of information from the NASA website. Experiments have shown the effectiveness of this method. It can be used in future design of power supply systems for autonomous monitoring stations.

People are able to explore unfamiliar surroundings with more ease due to navigation devices. Users can now incorporate these systems into handheld devices as a result of recent technological advancements that have increased the popularity and number of people using navigation systems. Due to poor reception of Global Positioning system (GPS) signals and a non-line of sight with orbiting satellites, it is more difficult to navigate within a building using GPS signals. Tracking and navigation within a structure can be accomplished by a handheld device (such as a smartphone or wearable) through the use of a wireless interface such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This type of technology can be used to monitor and guide patients with neurological illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), within the hospital premises. This study describes a system for indoor navigation based on wireless sensors, a mobile health application (mHealth app), and Bluetooth beacons. Cooperative Jamming for Physical Layer Security in Hybrid Satellite Terrestrial Relay Networks

To integrate the satellite communications with the LTE/5G services, the concept of Hybrid Satellite Terrestrial Relay Networks(HSTRNs) has been proposed. In this paper, we investigate the secure transmission in a HSTRN where the eavesdropper can wiretap the transmitted messages from both the satellite and the intermediate relays. To effectively protect the message from wiretapping in these two phases, we consider cooperative jamming by the relays, where the jamming signals are optimized to maximize the secrecy rate under the total power constraint of relays. In the first phase, the Maximal Ratio Transmission(MRT) scheme is used to maximize the secrecy rate, while in the second phase, by interpolating between the sub-optimal MRT scheme and the null-space projection scheme, the optimal scheme can be obtained via an efficient one-dimensional searching method. Simulation results show that when the number of cooperative relays is small, the performance of the optimal scheme significantly outperforms that of MRT and null-space projection scheme. When the number of relays increases, the performance of the null-space projection approaches that of the optimal one.

Automatic and continuous blood pressure monitoring is important for preventing cardiovascular diseases such as *** evaluation of medication effects and the diagnosis of clinical hypertension can both benefit from continuous *** current generation of wearable blood pressure monitors frequently encounters limitations with inadequate portability,electrical safety,limited accuracy,and precise position ***,we present an optical fiber sensor-assisted smartwatch for precise continuous blood pressure monitoring.A fiber adapter and a liquid capsule were used in the building of the blood pressure smartwatch based on an optical fiber *** fiber adapter was used to detect the pulse wave signals,and the liquid capsule was used to expand the sensing area as well as the conformability to the *** sensor holds a sensitivity of-213μw/kPa,a response time of 5 ms,and high reproducibility with 70,000 *** the assistance of pulse wave signal feature extraction and a machine learning algorithm,the smartwatch can continuously and precisely monitor blood pressure.A wearable smartwatch featuring a signal processing chip,a Bluetooth transmission module,and a specially designed cellphone APP was also created for active health *** performance in comparison with commercial sphygmomanometer reference measurements shows that the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure errors are-0.35±4.68 mmHg and-2.54±4.07 mmHg,*** values are within the acceptable ranges for Grade A according to the British Hypertension Society(BHS)and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation(AAMI).The smartwatch assisted with an optical fiber is expected to offer a practical paradigm in digital health.

Network failures are unavoidable and occur *** the network fails,intra-domain routing protocols deploying on the Internet need to undergo a long convergence *** this period,a large number of messages are discarded,which results in a decline in the user experience and severely affects the quality of service of Internet Service Providers(ISP).Therefore,improving the availability of intra-domain routing is a trending research question to be *** usually employs routing protection algorithms to improve intra-domain routing ***,existing routing protection schemes compute as many backup paths as possible to reduce message loss due to network failures,which increases the cost of the network and impedes the methods deployed in *** address the issues,this study proposes an efficient routing protection algorithm based on optimized network topology(ERPBONT).ERPBONT adopts the optimized network topology to calculate a backup path with the minimum path coincidence degree with the shortest path for all source ***,the backup path with the minimum path coincidence with the shortest path is described as an integer programming *** the simulated annealing algorithm ERPBONT is used to find the optimal ***,the algorithm is tested on the simulated topology and the real *** experimental results show that ERPBONT effectively reduces the path coincidence between the shortest path and the backup path,and significantly improves the routing availability.

The paper considers the topical issue of formal description of data structures. Data structures are widely used in modern object-oriented programming to solve various practical problems. software products have brought convenience to modern society but also pose significant security risks due to various types of vulnerabilities. Identifying vulnerability names is vital for program repair and software maintenance, but the lack of training data presents a challenge. Big data analytics and machine learning can help overcome this challenge by processing large amounts of data and improving the accuracy of vulnerability name prediction. Considering that the data is often from datasets composed of multiple sources, a feature-based or attention-based multi-source domain adaptation (MSDA) approach is required. In this paper, we propose an MSDA method based on both feature and attention to accomplish the task of predicting vulnerability names, called Multi-Source Domain Adaptation for Vulnerability Name Prediction (MSDA-VNP). First, MSDA-VNP reduces domain divergence by adversarial training and then uses domain-invariant features to obtain feature correlations between individual source and target domains. In combination with the obtained domain correlations, Weighted multi-kernel Maximum Mean Discrepancy (WMK-MMD) is proposed as the attention mechanism. Second, a data augmentation strategy is employed to enhance MSDA-VNP to identify privacy-related vulnerabilities. To evaluate our approach, we conducted experiments on eight Java real-world projects in the software Assurance Reference Dataset (SARD). The experimental results show that the proposed method MSDA-VNP performed efficiently and stably for the 44 types of vulnerabilities involved. The data augmentation strategy has also been proved to be effective as an enhancement for the proposed method MSDA-VNP.

Utilizing textured fluorine-doped tin oxides (FTO) as transparent conductive oxide (TCO) substrates is advantageous for capturing incident light, thereby enhancing the power photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) of inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the roughness of these substrates and uncontrolled nucleation often results in voids at the perovskite-buried surface, leading to insufficient charge extraction and serving as degradation initiation points. This study introduces (S)-3-amino-4-(4-chlorophenyl)butyric acid hydrochloride (AbaCl), which binds to FTO through its anchor group (–COOH) at the deficient regions of MeO-4PACz. Moreover, the chlorine end molecules offer active sites for nucleation by forming halogen bonds with undercoordinated iodide ions (I–). AbaCl also interacts with formamidinium (FA+) in perovskite precursor solution via hydrogen bonding, promoting crystallization at the buried interface. Consequently, nucleation at this buried interface becomes preferential, ensuring bottom-up growth and preventing voids formation due to incomplete solvent evaporation, allowing the perovskite layer to conformally adhere to the substrate without gaps. As a result, the AbaCl-treated inverted PSCs achieved a champion PCE of 24.5% and exhibited enhanced operational stability. This work presents a method for conformally growing perovskite films on textured substrates to produce efficient and stable PSCs. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
