Effective integration and wide sharing of geospatial data is an important and basic premise to facilitate the research and applications of geographic information ***,the semantic heterogeneity of geospatial data is a major problem that significantly hinders geospatial data integration and *** are regarded as a promising way to solve semantic problems by providing a formalized representation of geographic entities and relationships between them in a manner understandable to ***,many efforts have been made to explore ontology-based geospatial data integration and ***,there is a lack of a specialized ontology that would provide a unified description for geospatial *** this paper,with a focus on the characteristics of geospatial data,we propose a unified framework for geospatial data ontology,denoted GeoDataOnt,to establish a semantic foundation for geospatial data integration and ***,we provide a characteristics hierarchy of geospatial ***,we analyze the semantic problems for each characteristic of geospatial ***,we propose the general framework of GeoDataOnt,targeting these problems according to the characteristics of geospatial *** is then divided into multiple modules,and we show a detailed design and implementation for each *** limitations and challenges of GeoDataOnt are identified,and broad applications of GeoDataOnt are discussed.

Natural images always exhibit a certain nonlocal self-similarity property, which implies that the patch matrix formed by similar image patches is low-rank. In this paper, the self-similarity of images is combined with the EPLL (Expected patch log likelihood) method based on external similarity, and an EPLL denoising model based on internal and external image similarity is proposed. The experimental results show that compared with the original EPLL method, the proposed method not only has higher quantization index, but also has a good visual effect.

information-Centric Networking (ICN) aims to distribute and retrieve the content by name. In this paper, we review and approve the feasible Ant Colony Optimization (ACO)-inspired ICN routing solutions, i.e., applying ACO to solve ICN routing problem. At first, some significant challenges with respect to ICN routing are analyzed, such as explosive increasing of Forwarding information Base (FIB), retrieval of closest content copy, uniform distribution of content and mobility support. Then, the solutions inspired by biology feature and behavior is reviewed. In addition, a general design thought of ACO-inspired solution is presented. Finally, the feasibility of ACO-inspired ICN routing solution is evaluated. © Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.

Static although structured queries performed on data that is stored in relation databases or data warehouses are not sufficient enough for systems that are running in real-time, where the focus of monitoring is decided during the runtime of an application. Given that the cessation of activity of the core applications may not be admissible only compounded the problem. However, this solves complex event processing where time is perceived as more important than the actual parameter data persistence. There are currently a number of commercial and non-commercial CEP engines but most of them are very robust and non-optimized for use on platforms with limited resources. In this paper we propose modular and non-robust complex event processing solution for mobile devices with Android. This proposal is based on Publish Subscribe design pattern with a view to its possible further extension. Thus implemented prototype allows processing sensor data from various sources, both inside the device, as well as sensors from other connected devices. To demonstrate the usability of our approach, a mobile application for detection of potential threats to health was developed. This application, utilizing the CEP engine, can warn its users of any danger to their health, based on the predefined complex rules. We have analyzed several solutions and their application possibilities for use on platforms with limited resources. We have designed and implemented a prototype to support the development of complex events for the Android platform. Finally we have tested our approach with the existing solutions in comparable level. © 2017 Association for Computing Machinery.

This paper addresses the stability of a Kalman filter when measurements are intermittently available due to an unreliable communication channel between sensors and the estimator. This intermittent behaviour can be modelled as a random and time-varying measurement system. We consider a general discrete-time system with a random measurement matrix and study the stability condition for the associate Kalman filter. By deep dissecting the system structure, the necessary and sufficient stability condition for the Kalman filter is given. We also give methods to checking the stability condition for specific linear systems. Our results generalize previously known stability conditions where the system matrix structure is restricted.

Automated and systematic testing of automation systems (AS) and production systems (PS) require an integrated testing tool chain for test case development, execution and reporting. In practice, the test automation tool chain cannot be fully automated because of missing links between different tools used in the test automation process. Closing these gaps typically require (high) human effort. Furthermore, domain and software testing expertise is often bundled by one (expensive) engineer who is responsible for the application domain (reflected in use cases and test cases) and software tests (software test code). This paper presents a flexible Testing Automation Framework (TAF) that enables the configuration of test processes involving different tools and various layers for test automation and enables separated roles for the application domain and software tests. We build on best-practice test automation from software engineering and design a test automation process for the automation systems domain. We demonstrate the feasibility with a use case, derived from production systems automation, with selected tools covering all test automation layers. First results showed the feasibility of the framework in the evaluation use case making test processes more flexible and automated. Although the successful implementation of the TAF can support the efficient configuration and execution of test processes, there is additional effort for preparing the flexible and automated tool chain.

Nonclassical correlations can be regarded as resources for quantum information processing. However, the classification problem of nonclassical correlations for quantum states remains a challenge, even for finite-size systems. Although there exists a set of criteria for determining individual nonclassical correlations, a unified framework that is capable of simultaneously classifying multiple correlations is still missing. In this Letter, we experimentally explored the possibility of applying machine-learning methods for simultaneously identifying nonclassical correlations. Specifically, by using partial information, we applied an artificial neural network, support vector machine, and decision tree for learning entanglement, quantum steering, and nonlocality. Overall, we found that, for a family of quantum states, all three approaches can achieve high accuracy for the classification problem. Moreover, the run time of the machine-learning methods to output the state label is experimentally found to be significantly less than that of state tomography.

This paper presents a new vision based approach to vehicle re-identification (VRI) for smart transportation systems by fusion of multiple features. Unlike the conventional VRI systems which adopted loop sensors to capture inductive features for classification, we developed a hierarchical method for VRI by coarse-to-fine image matching. More specifically, VRI is performed at fine level by image matching using distinctive and anonymous features which are extracted from the large number of interesting points detected from the vehicle and its license plate images at coarse level. To achieve robustness, the thresholding of matching criteria is based on the dynamic analysis of the time series of vehicle images rather than predefined. In addition, the fusion of multiple features is conducted via a weighted probability scheme. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed new approach, a series of field testing were conducted, where 301 vehicles were considered for data calibration and 1699 vehicles were used for validation tests. The accuracy of matching rate reaches 73.51%. 85.52% and greater than 90% respectively by using density features, fusion of selected distinctive features and fusion of multimodal features. © 2018, Society for Imaging Science and Technology.

In this paper, we present one of the key KONFIDO project’s activities, the identification of key barriers and facilitators regarding eHealth solutions acceptance, focusing on security and interoperability. The methodology presented includes an end-user survey and an end-user workshop, engaging various stakeholders from Europe, in order to gain value out of their experience and insight in real-world healthcare settings. The analysis of the results provides a list of explicitly identified barriers and facilitators of adopting eHealth solutions in a Europe-wide scale, useful in the context of KONFIDO and beyond. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.
