Super-Resolution (SR) is a fundamental computer vision task that aims to obtain a high-resolution clean image from the given low-resolution counterpart. This paper reviews the NTIRE 2021 Challenge on Video Super-Resolution. We present evaluation results from two competition tracks as well as the proposed solutions. Track 1 aims to develop conventional video SR methods focusing on the restoration quality. Track 2 assumes a more challenging environment with lower frame rates, casting spatio-temporal SR problem. In each competition, 247 and 223 participants have registered, respectively. During the final testing phase, 14 teams competed in each track to achieve state-of-the-art performance on video SR tasks. © 2021, CC BY-NC-ND.

software intelligent development has become one of the most important research trends in software engineering. In this paper, we put forward two key concepts -- intelligent development environment （IntelliDE） and software knowledge graph -- for the first time. IntelliDE is an ecosystem in which software big data are aggregated, mined and analyzed to provide intelligent assistance in the life cycle of software development. We present its architecture and discuss its key research issues and challenges. software knowledge graph is a software knowledge representation and management framework, which plays an important role in IntelliDE. We study its concept and introduce some concrete details and examples to show how it could be constructed and leveraged.

The Behavior, Constraint, and Scenario (BeCoS) tool has been developed to allow engineers to specify system and component behaviors. The tool is a web application that is developed in JavaScript and uses the React framework for the user interface and Redux for maintaining application state. The foundation of the tool is its underlying ontology, which expands upon a previously-defined behavior ontology with a scenario ontology. The behavior ontology includes elements like behaving elements, state variables, parameters, and constraints, while the scenario ontology includes core constructs like activities, temporal constraints, and timepoints. BeCoS allows users to easily create behaving elements and to specify their state variables, parameters, state machines, and constraints. BeCoS also allows users to develop temporal constraint networks that specify constraints on component states over time. BeCoS is a prototype tool that has been deployed and tested by systems engineers on the Europa Clipper project, which generated several use cases and helped steer its current developmental effort. By enabling systems engineers to specify behavior in a semantically-rigorous manner, BeCoS is an enabling technology for analyses that previously could not be performed, and when exporting its model to other tools, allows for consistent behavior models to be used. © 2018 by the American institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. Multimodal bioimaging is a broad term used to describe experimental workflows that employ two or more different imaging modalities. Such approaches have been in use across life science domains for several years but these remain relatively limited in scope, in part due to the complexity of undertaking these types of analysis. Expanding these workflows to encompass diverse, emerging technology holds potential to revolutionize our understanding of spatial biology. In this perspective we reflect on the instrument and workflows in current use, emerging areas to consider and our experience of the barriers to broader adoption and progress. We propose several enabling solutions across the different challenge areas, emerging opportunities for consideration and highlight some of the key community activities to help move the field forward.

We introduce and analyse the problem of encoding classical information into different resources of a quantum state. More precisely, we consider a general class of communication scenarios characterised by encoding operations that commute with a unique resource destroying map and leave free states invariant. Our motivating example is given by encoding information into coherences of a quantum system with respect to a fixed basis (with unitaries diagonal in that basis as encodings and the decoherence channel as a resource destroying map), but the generality of the framework allows us to explore applications ranging from super-dense coding to thermodynamics. For any state, we find that the number of messages that can be encoded into it using such operations in a one-shot scenario is upper bounded in terms of the information spectrum relative entropy between the given state and its version with erased resources. Furthermore, if the resource destroying map is the twirling channel over some unitary group, we find matching one-shot lower bounds as well. In the asymptotic setting where we encode into many copies of the resource state, our bounds yield an operational interpretation of resource monotones such as the relative entropy of coherence and its corresponding relative entropy variance. Weyl points (WPs), as nodal degenerate points in three-dimensional (3D) momentum space, are ideal if they are symmetry-related, well-separated, residing at the same energy and far from the nontopological bands. Although type-II WPs show some unique features compared with type-I counterparts, ideal type-II WPs have not yet been reported due to the lack of an ideal Weyl system with enough flexibility to tilt the dispersion bands. By stacking two-dimensional (2D) layers of inductor-capacitor (LC) resonator dimers with the breaking of parity inversion symmetry, here we experimentally realize the topological circuits with only the topological bands and observe a minimal number of four ideal type-II WPs. Two hallmark features of type-II WPs: a strongly tilted band structure with two group velocities having the same sign near type-II WPs and the topological surface states in an incomplete bandgap have been demonstrated. Our results establish an ideal system to the further study of Weyl physics and provide a new perspective to the access of topological matters. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Evidence has shown that the use of restricted natural languages can reduce ambiguities in textual use case specifications (UCSs). Restricted natural languages often come with specific editors that support particular use case templates and provide enforcement of the language's restrictions. However, whether restriction enforcement facilitates the definition of UCSs as compared to an editor without such support is a fundamental question to answer. To this end, we report results of a controlled experiment in which we compared two approaches for defining restricted UCSs: (i) a specific Restricted Use Case Modeling (RUCM) tool that supports restriction enforcement; and (ii) a general Office Word UCS template without such enforcement. We compared both approaches from multiple perspectives including restriction misuse, understandability, and restrictiveness. Results show that the restriction misuse rates are generally low, which indicates the usefulness of the RUCM, independent of the use of the editors. The results also indicate that the RUCM tool eases the application of more complex restrictions. We also found that the participants profited from extensive training prior to the experiment. The experiment participants further showed their strong willingness to recommend the RUCM tool to others and to use it in the future, which was not the case for the Office Word template.

With the expansion of wireless technology, vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANETs) are emerging as a promising approach for realizing smart cities and addressing many serious traffic problems, such as road safety, convenience, and efficiency. To avoid any possible rancorous attacks, employing lightweight ciphers is most effective for implementing encryption/decryption, message authentication, and digital signatures for the security of the VANETs. Light encryption device(LED) is a lightweight block cipher with two basic keysize variants: LED-64 and LED-128. Since its inception, many fault analysis techniques have focused on provoking faults in the last four rounds to derive the 64-bit and 128-bit secret keys. It is vital to investigate whether injecting faults into a prior round enables breakage of the LED. This study presents a novel impossible meet-in-the-middle fault analysis on a prior round. A detailed analysis of the expected number of faults is used to uniquely determine the secret key. It is based on the propagation of truncated differentials and is surprisingly reminiscent of the computation of the complexity of a rectangle attack. It shows that the impossible meet-in-the-middle fault analysis could successfully break the LED by fault injections.
