This paper explores a method for creating large-scale urban 3D models from GIS spatial data. It is capable of automatic generation of realistic VR models based on existing GIS data. Parametric 3D models of houses are created from polygon data, fences from line data, and pedestrians and trees from point data. The method is applied to the project `Virtual Kyoto Time-Space' in which the whole city of Kyoto of the Edo era is re-created.

Based on the weakness of ZG off-line TTP(trusted third party) non-repudiation protocol because of using protocol deadline, the improvement of the ZG off-line TTP non-repudiation protocol was given, which eliminated the delaying resolve request attack and ensured non-repudiation and fairness. Therefore, two kinds of improvement of ZG off-line TTP non-repudiation protocol were given, which had different point of focus. Among them, the first one could eliminate delaying message attack in ZG protocol;the second one also had the property of preventing the abuse of sub-protocol besides eliminating delaying message attack. The first one is suitable for electronic payment and certified email, but the second one is suitable for digital contract signature.

Web 2.0 and collaborative filtering recommendation technologies have been widely exploited to unleash the creation appetency of people for sharing contents with others and receiving customized services in an information overload time. In this paper, by studying the growing process of online communities we propose a trust mechanism as well as related algorithms to improve recommendation, especially for the new user cold start problem. Through the experiments under the scale-free network environment, our work shows a more flexible and natural property to enhances user's acceptance of the Web 2.0 application. © 2007 IEEE.

A new approach to web search that is based on a bee hive metaphor is presented. We proposed a modified model of a bee hive. Our model comprises of a dance floor, an auditorium, and a dispatch room. We have shown that the model is a true model of a bee hive in the sense it simulates several kinds of its typical behaviour. However, more importantly it is a simple model that describes some processes taking place in web search. Our model incorporates also several kinds of uncertainty. Experiments show that uncertainty increases robustness of the search and makes it actually more efficient. © 2008 - IOS Press and the authors. All rights reserved.

An incidence coloring of graph G is a coloring of its incidences in which neighborly incidences are assigned di erent colors. In this paper, the incidence coloring of outerplanar graphs is discussed using the techniques of exchanging colors and the double inductions from the aspect of con guration property. Results show that there exists a (D + 2,2)-incidence coloring in every outerplanar graph, where D is the maximum degree of outerplanar graph.

We present a method for navigation support by visualization of actual web page context. We browse and incrementally visualize a graph representing an abstraction of web navigation where nodes represent web pages and edges represent relationships between them expressed either by explicit links (one page linking to another through the content) or implied relationships (relevant pages several clicks away). We proposed several metrics for edge relevance evaluation. In the metrics, existing metadata in form of tags associated with bookmarks offered by collaborative social bookmarking sites is employed and user preferences represented by their tag usage are taken into account.
