Singing voice conversion (SVC) aims to convert a singer’s voice to another singer’s from a reference audio while keeping the original semantics. However, existing SVC methods can hardly perform zero-shot due to incomplete feature disentanglement or dependence on the speaker look-up table. We propose the first open-source high-quality zero-shot SVC model SaMoye that can convert singing to human and non-human timbre. SaMoye disentangles the singing voice’s features into content, timbre, and pitch features, where we combine multiple ASR models and compress the content features to reduce timbre leakages. Besides, we enhance the timbre features by unfreezing the speaker encoder and mixing the speaker embedding with top-3 similar speakers. We also establish an unparalleled large-scale dataset to guarantee zero-shot performance, which comprises more than 1,815 hours of pure singing voice and 6,367 speakers. We conduct objective and subjective experiments to find that SaMoye outperforms other models in zero-shot SVC tasks even under extreme conditions like converting singing to animals’ timbre. LidarGait: Benchmarking 3D Gait Recognition with Point Clouds

Video-based gait recognition has achieved impressive results in constrained scenarios. However, visual cameras neglect human 3D structure information, which limits the feasibility of gait recognition in the 3D wild world. Instead of extracting gait features from images, this work explores precise 3D gait features from point clouds and proposes a simple yet efficient 3D gait recognition framework, termed LidarGait. Our proposed approach projects sparse point clouds into depth maps to learn the representations with 3D geometry information, which outperforms existing point-wise and camera-based methods by a significant margin. Due to the lack of point cloud datasets, we build the first large-scale LiDAR-based gait recognition dataset, SUSTech1K, collected by a LiDAR sensor and an RGB camera. The dataset contains 25,239 sequences from 1,050 subjects and covers many variations, including visibility, views, occlusions, clothing, carrying, and scenes. Extensive experiments show that (1) 3D structure information serves as a significant feature for gait recognition. (2) LidarGait outperforms existing point-based and silhouette-based methods by a significant margin, while it also offers stable cross-view results. Recently, medical research has revealed that diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) is less sensitive than susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) for acute ischemic stroke. Brain vein analysis in SWI is very important for personalised therapy, quantitative diagnosis, and prognosis of acute ischemic stroke. Therefore, the accurate segmentation of veins in SWI images has important significance in supplementary diagnosis and medical research. However, vein segmentation in SWI is a challenging task because different veins show distinct variability and uneven intensity and are difficult to manually split. This paper proposes an improvement method based on U-net, by using dense connection and mixing loss function, the best Dice coefficient and the ASSD were obtained by other comparison methods. The method presented in this article can be used as a potential tool to accurately measure SWI cerebral veins and help physicians in decision making.

In this paper, a method of high order IIR filter design is proposed in which the coefficients in the canonical binary number system representation are searched by the simulated annealing algorithm. The high-quality IIR filters are designed using the all-pass filter stages, methods of masking filters and multiplied delays. It was proven, that if the coefficients of the multiplierless filter have no more than three summands in their representation, then its pipelined implementation in FPGA has the highest clock frequency. The use of the VHDL language in all the steps of the filter design helps to speed-up and improve the filter optimization. © 2020 IEEE.

Provably Convergent Federated Trilevel Learning

Trilevel learning, also called trilevel optimization (TLO), has been recognized as a powerful modelling tool for hierarchical decision process and widely applied in many machine learning applications, such as robust neural architecture search, hyperparameter optimization, and domain adaptation. Tackling TLO problems has presented a great challenge due to their nested decision-making structure. In addition, existing works on TLO face the following key challenges: 1) they all focus on the non-distributed setting, which may lead to privacy breach;2) they do not offer any non-asymptotic convergence analysis which characterizes how fast an algorithm converges. To address the aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes an asynchronous federated trilevel optimization method to solve TLO problems. The proposed method utilizes µ-cuts to construct a hyper-polyhedral approximation for the TLO problem and solve it in an asynchronous manner. We demonstrate that the proposed µ-cuts are applicable to not only convex functions but also a wide range of non-convex functions that meet the µ-weakly convex assumption. Furthermore, we theoretically analyze the non-asymptotic convergence rate for the proposed method by showing its iteration complexity to obtain ϵ-stationary point is upper bounded by (Formula Presented). Extensive experiments on real-world datasets have been conducted to elucidate the superiority of the proposed method, e.g., it has a faster convergence rate with a maximum acceleration of approximately 80%. This one-day hybrid workshop builds on previous feminist CSCW workshops to explore feminist theoretical and methodological approaches that have provided us with useful tools to see things differently and make space for change. Since its inception over a decade ago, feminist HCI has progressed from the margins to mainstream HCI, with numerous references in the literature. Feminist HCI has also evolved to incorporate other critical HCI practices such as Queer HCI, participatory design, and speculative design. While feminist approaches have grown in popularity and become mainstream, it is getting more difficult to distinguish the feminist emancipatory core from other attempts of developing and improving society in various ways. In this workshop, we therefore want to revisit our feminist roots, where theory is a liberatory and creative practice, motivated by affect, curiosity, and wonder. From this standpoint, we consider which of our feminist tools can make a significant difference today, in a highly datafied world. The goal of this workshop is to;1) create an inventory of feminist theories and concepts that have had an impact on our work as designers, educators, researchers, and activists;2) develop a feminist toolbox for the CSCW community to strengthen our feminist literacy. © 2023 Owner/Author.

This paper investigates the freshness of information for covert communication in a satellite-terrestrial system consisting of a satellite transmitter Alice, a terrestrial full-duplex receiver Bob, and a terrestrial warden Willie. Particularly, Alice tries to transmit covert information to Bob under the detection of Willie, while Bob emits jamming signals to confuse Willie simultaneously. We first provide theoretical modeling for the average age of information (AOI) of Bob and the covert constraint of Willie. Based on the theoretical model, we then drive a optimal transmit power of Alice to minimize the average AoI with the constraint of covertness requirement. Finally, numerical results are presented to verify the theoretical results and to illustrate the impacts of transmit and jamming power on the covertness and average AoI.

Quantum computing is becoming real: Several vendors offer quantum computers in the cloud or on premise, companies invest to become familiar with this technology and its potentials, several software companies build corresponding software tools, and many consulting companies offer services to build solutions. However, software to be run on a quantum computer is quite different from software for classical computers. Thus, the current state of the art is that solutions are hand-crafted in an ad-hoc manner.

This paper describes a dataset collected by infrared thermography, a non-contact, non-intrusive technique to acquire data and analyze the built environment in various aspects. While most studies focus on the city and building scales, an observatory installed on a rooftop provides high temporal and spatial resolution observations with dynamic interactions on the district scale. The rooftop infrared thermography observatory with a multi-modal platform capable of assessing a wide range of dynamic processes in urban systems was deployed in Singapore. It was placed on the top of two buildings that overlook the outdoor context of the National University of Singapore campus. The platform collects remote sensing data from tropical areas on a temporal scale, allowing users to determine the temperature trend of individual features such as buildings, roads, and vegetation. The dataset includes 1,365,921 thermal images collected on average at approximately 10-second intervals from two locations during ten months. © 2023, CC BY-SA.

Pyrolysis is a prominent technique to harvest energy while addressing the global waste problem. Product yield relies heavily on precise reactor temperature control in a pyrolysis process;thus, a representative mathematical model is necessary to design and evaluate the control system. Hence, this research aims to create a data-driven model of a 1 kg/h Auger-based pyrolysis (APR) plant and design a robust controller accordingly. The system is excited by using a pseudo-random binary signal (PRBS) to trigger process response and is recorded for 2 hours. Various models with different orders, such as Auto Regressive Exogeneous (ARX), Auto Regressive Moving Average Exogeneous (ARMAX), Box-Jenkins (BJ), and Output Error (OE) were created from the obtained data. The models were examined using best-fit percentage, final prediction error (FPE) and mean square error (MSE) criteria and validated using cross-correlation and auto-correlation functions. Two widely used and purpose-fit controllers, Proportional-Integral-Derivate (PID) and Model Predictive Control (MPC), with output constraints, were designed and tuned for this application. Several operational scenarios were investigated, such as setpoint tracking and disturbance rejection. The best-fit models were selected and validated for TIC-3, TIC-4 and TIC-5, with 96.22%, 97.4% and 84.83% fitness criteria, respectively. Both controllers successfully satisfied all the tests with less than 2% steady-state error. However, MPC surpassed PID controllers in all aspects, such as 5-7 times faster settling time, negligible overshoot, and reduced integral absolute error (IAE) and integral square error (ISE) up to 44.75% and 5.45%, respectively. Nevertheless, MPC with input and output constraints performance pales compared to other controllers despite some adjustments with massive ISE and settling time above 3000 seconds. As a result, a recommendation to change the input actuator will be beneficial to unleash the benefit of MPC fully. © 2
