This study investigates the level of cybersecurity awareness and experiences among employees in the workplace. A survey of 590 participants using Google Forms and results analysed by descriptive statistics and pairwise analysis methods revealed that only about 26.10% of the respondents, which is 154 of the 590 total respondents, make use of firewalls on their computing devices always, while 37.29% said they have never used firewalls. It was also observed from the results that only 17.29% use monitoring and incident response mechanisms in their computer or devices, 23.22% backup their documents, 24.24%, which is 143 of the total 590 respondents, employ the Zero Trust Security Model when information is to be accessed in their company, 19.32%, which is 114 respondents, only update their computer software after installation always, 19.83%, which is 117 of the 590 respondents, use antivirus on their computer or other devices always, while 40% claim never to have used antivirus on their computer or other devices. The result also shows that only 17.29% use monitoring and incident response mechanisms in their computers or devices, 23.22% backup their documents, and this is possibly due to their response regarding training on cybersecurity, as only 18.31% said that they ever received cyber security awareness education or training in their office, 42.71% stated that they are not sure, and 38.98% said that they never received cyber security awareness education or training in their office. Also, from the descriptive statistics results, the "Always" vs. "Occasionally" group and the "Always" vs. "Never" group mostly have their probability, p-value less than 0.05, which means that there is a statistically significant difference between the groups. It implies that respondents in the "always" category tend to have different behaviors or characteristics compared to those in the "occasionally" category. Hand sign recognition is a vital technology in the human-computer interaction, enabling individuals to communicate with machines naturally and effectively. An innovative approach for real-time hand sign identification with the help of CNN and OpenCV is introduced with the fusion of computer vision and deep learning that can accurately interpret and classify an extensive range of hand signs and gestures. This research contributes significantly to the fields of computer vision and human-computer interaction, offering a practical and efficient solution for hand sign recognition. The combination of CNN and OpenCV presents a promising avenue for enhancing accessibility and communication, especially in environments where verbal communication is limited or non-existent. The model is trained with multiple data so that the system can recognize the hand gestures more precisely. Pre-trained architectures like ResNet and MobileNet are combined with the CNN model using ensemble learning and the performance is improved when compared to all the three CNN architectures individually. The ensemble model provides better accuracy of 96 %. The potential applications of this technology are vast, from assisting the hearing-impaired in understanding sign language to more immersive and intuitive interactions. Overall, the approach holds the promise of bridging the gap between human gestures and machine understanding, opening new doors for meaningful interactions between individuals and intelligent systems. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, authors attempt to provide a theoretical and computational investigation to study the heat transfer mechanism in an exhaust port. The study aims to provide insights about temperature distribution and heat flow under thermal stress loading condition for both convective as well as conjugate heat transfer, respectively. Temperature as well as pressure distribution and heat flow are an essential parameter for evaluating the efficiency of working ports. The exhaust system mechanism is to guide the reactive exhaust gases that are controlled in combustion chamber of an engine. The findings of this study can be used to improve the design of exhaust ports for internal combustion engines. By optimizing the port geometry and material selection, the conjugate heat transfer mode can be enhanced, leading to improved engine performance and reduced emissions. However, further research is needed to investigate the effects of the other factors mentioned above. This experiment could lead to the creation of improved and functional exhaust port designs that can improve engine performance and reduce emissions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Weighted vertex cover(WVC)is one of the most important combinatorial optimization *** this paper,we provide a new game optimization to achieve efficiency and time of solutions for the WVC problem of weighted *** first model the WVC problem as a general game on weighted *** the framework of a game,we newly define several cover states to describe the WVC ***,we reveal the relationship among these cover states of the weighted network and the strict Nash equilibriums(SNEs)of the ***,we propose a game-based asynchronous algorithm(GAA),which can theoretically guarantee that all cover states of vertices converging in an SNE with polynomial ***,we improve the GAA by adding 2-hop and 3-hop adjustment mechanisms,termed the improved game-based asynchronous algorithm(IGAA),in which we prove that it can obtain a better solution to the WVC problem than using a the ***,numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed IGAA can obtain a better approximate solution in promising computation time compared with the existing representative algorithms.

The implementation of digital industrial technologies marks a pivotal step towards maximizing automation in production processes, aligning with the principles of Industry 4.0 and the NDE 4.0 paradigms. One key area of focus is the modeling of radiation non-destructive evaluation operations within a virtual reality framework. This innovative approach allows for the creation and software application of simulators specifically designed for non-destructive testing of various materials and products. In this context, a complex multi-component digital twin of radiographic image is proposed. The digital twin serves as a comprehensive virtual model that mirrors the characteristics and behaviors of its physical counterpart. The images are generated using discrete modeling techniques that utilize both fundamental physical principles and empirical data provided by manufacturers. This dual approach ensures that the resulting radiographic images closely resemble those produced during actual X-ray inspections. One of the spatial factors that affects image sharpness and quality of inspection is also included in the model. By utilizing virtual reality and digital twin technologies, radiation non-destructive testing training becomes more efficient and better aligned with the automation goals of contemporary industrial practices.

This first quarter of the 21st century is increasingly marked by population growth,digital and industrial developments,a growing need for electricity supply,and climate *** these,to name just a few,have made the establishment of a stable,flexible,controlled,well-designed,extensive,and clean power system a ***,distributed microgrid generation based on alternative/renewable energies and/or low-carbon technologies has *** this paper,we study the modeling,the control,and the power management strategy of a grid-connected hybrid alternating/direct current(AC/DC)microgrid based on a wind turbine generation system using a doubly fed induction generator,a photovoltaic generation system,and storage elements including hydrogen storage system and *** modeling is described,and the overall system monitoring is presented and applied to manage appropri-ate power sharing and to control active and reactive powers,in order to match load and weather fluctuation *** are carried out using a MATLAB/Simulink simulation *** reveal convenient results in terms of the bidirectional interlinking converter capabilities regarding power balance establishment between the two subgrids,reactive power compensation to ensure a unity power factor,and DC-bus voltage regulation at 1200 *** addition,the primary and secondary controls are approved for each distributed generation of the studied system to attain the assigned power references,regardless of whether the subgrid is heavily or lightly loaded throughout the four considered case studies,showing satisfactory tracking and interacting performances,and thus stimulating a stable system implementation.

Foundry technology permits obtaining the most complex parts for the most diversified applications with excellent quality. An emergent process of casting is Rheocasting. This work aims to study the manufacturing defects obtained in an automobile component. The material used in this research is the EN AB-42000 aluminium alloy, and the manufacturing process was Rheocasting. In the development of this work, the Quickcast software was used to simulate the solidification process. Furthermore, the simulation software was used to check the presence of hotspots by altering the production parameters to minimize the defect distribution, obtaining information and considerations to take into account during the conceptual and production stages. In addition, experimental work was carried out to identify and quantify the Rheocasting intrinsic defects. This study allowed the gathering of data that, after being adequately dealt with, led to the characterization of types of intrinsic defects in the manufacturing process. With the experimental data obtained in this study, conclusions regarding design and production were deduced. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

With the static nature of recommender systems, it is crucial to take into account the intricate details of customer behaviour to better improve operating efficiencies. This paper is about original methods to augment recommendation frameworks by employing spectral clustering methods, to be more specific. Limited segmentation techniques now cannot catch up with the growing complexity and variety of customer conduct. To address this need, we are proposing a new way in which the spectral clustering technique, a supervised learning technique, can be applied. Revealing in-depth relationships inside customer data will enable an upgrade in the segmentation approach beyond the existing norms. Spectral clustering stands out as a really amazing tool for accomplishing extraordinarily precise customer segments, which help understand the tastes of users on a deeper level. Through discovering separate customer groups, we are aiming for a meaningful contribution in the field of recommendation systems. This project combines the effectiveness of spectral clustering with the convenience of a recommendation system that aims to provide a holistic, meaningful, and user-oriented approach to enhancing recommendation systems in the area of personalised recommendation. Our aim is to create recommendation systems that are not only attuned to the heterogeneity of customer preferences but also adopt new trends in user experience design beforehand. The segmentation is done with K-Means along with the proposed algorithm and the clusters are hence compared and Implementation results shows that spectral clustering is much more efficient than the existing K-Means algorithm © 2024 IEEE.

As real-time data sources expand, the need for detecting anomalies in streaming data becomes increasingly critical for cutting edge data-driven applications. Real-time anomaly detection faces various challenges, requiring automated systems that adapt continuously to evolving data patterns due to the impracticality of human intervention. This study focuses on energy systems (ES), critical infrastructures vulnerable to disruptions from natural disasters, cyber attacks, equipment failures, or human errors, leading to power outages, financial losses, and risks to other sectors. Early anomaly detection ensures energy supply continuity, minimizing disruption impacts, an enhancing system resilience against cyber threats. A systematic literature review (SLR) is conducted to answer 5 essential research questions in anomaly detection due to the lack of standardized knowledge and the rapid evolution of emerging technologies replacing conventional methods. A detailed review of selected literature, extracting insights and synthesizing results has been conducted in order to explore anomaly types that can be detected using Machine Learning algorithms in the scope of Energy systems, the factors influencing this detection success, the deployment algorithms and security measurement to take in to consideration. This paper provides a comprehensive review and listing of advanced machine learning models, methods to enhance detection performance, methodologies, tools, and enabling technologies for real-time implementation. Furthermore, the study outlines future research directions to improve anomaly detection in smart energy systems. © The Author(s) 2024.
