IT Governance are one of the needs in managing Enterprise Level IT. This study shows part of the decision domain of IT Governance Help, which are IT Investment and Prioritization. The purpose of this study is to determine feasibility of implementation open source ERP system Odoo project management module that replaces current system based on operational, economic, and technical aspects. The method used are Fit / Gap Analysis and Cost Benefit model using economic impact worksheet. The analysis is done by comparing the requirement with features owned by current system and Odoo ERP system. This research resulted that Odoo ERP System is feasible in the 3 aspects, the operational feasibility Odoo reaching 72% Fit, the economic feasibility with ROI of 84%, and technical feasibility indicating the technical requirement can be fulfilled by leasing AWS server. The conclusion is the open source ERP system Odoo project management module is feasible to be applied in terms of 3 aspects that have been studied, those are operational, economic, and technical.

It is well understood that client-master communication can be a primary bottleneck in federated learning (FL). In this work, we address this issue with a novel client subsampling scheme, where we restrict the number of clients allowed to communicate their updates back to the master node. In each communication round, all participating clients compute their updates, but only the ones with "important" updates communicate back to the master. We show that importance can be measured using only the norm of the update and give a formula for optimal client participation. This formula minimizes the distance between the full update, where all clients participate, and our limited update, where the number of participating clients is restricted. In addition, we provide a simple algorithm that approximates the optimal formula for client participation, which allows for secure aggregation and stateless clients, and thus does not compromise client privacy. We show both theoretically and empirically that for Distributed SGD (DSGD) and Federated Averaging (FedAvg), the performance of our approach can be close to full participation and superior to the baseline where participating clients are sampled uniformly. Moreover, our approach is orthogonal to and compatible with existing methods for reducing communication overhead, such as local methods and communication compression methods. Omics software tools have reshaped the landscape of modern biology and become an essential component of biomedical research. The increasing dependence of biomedical scientists on these powerful tools creates a need for easier installation and greater usability. Packaging, virtualization, and containerization are different approaches to satisfy this need by wrapping omics tools in additional software that makes the omics tools easier to install and use. Here, we systematically review practices across prominent packaging, virtualization, and containerization platforms. We outline the challenges, advantages, and limitations of each approach and some of the most widely used platforms from the perspectives of users, software developers, and system administrators. We also propose principles to make packaging, virtualization, and containerization of omics software more sustainable and robust to increase the reproducibility of biomedical and life science research. © 2022, CC BY.

This paper presents a selected tour through the theory and applications of lifts of convex sets. A lift of a convex set is a higher-dimensional convex set that projects onto the original set. Many convex sets have lifts that are dramatically simpler to describe than the original set. Finding such simple lifts has significant algorithmic implications, particularly for optimization problems. We consider both the classical case of polyhedral lifts, described by linear inequalities, as well as spectrahedral lifts, defined by linear matrix inequalities, with a focus on recent developments related to spectrahedral lifts. Given a convex set, ideally we would either like to find a (low-complexity) polyhedral or spectrahedral lift, or find an obstruction proving that no such lift is possible. To this end, we explain the connection between the existence of lifts of a convex set and certain structured factorizations of its associated slack operator. Based on this characterization, we describe a uniform approach, via sums of squares, to the construction of spectrahedral lifts of convex sets and illustrate the method on several families of examples. Finally, we discuss two flavors of obstruction to the existence of lifts: one related to facial structure, and the other related to algebraic properties of the set in question. Rather than being exhaustive, our aim is to illustrate the richness of the area. We touch on a range of different topics related to the existence of lifts, and present many examples of lifts from different areas of mathematics and its applications. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. A power factor correction (PFC) circuit is an essential requirement for AC-DC conversion to meet the strict grid quality standards. High efficiency and increased power density requirements have driven the industry towards bridgeless PFC circuits as a viable solution for front end rectification. Inherent electro magnetic interference (EMI) issues of an H-Bridge PFC topology has hindered the adaptation of this circuit. In this paper, a duty compensation method is proposed to reduce the harmonic content generated by switch node of an H-Bridge topology. The proposed control technique reduces the generated harmonics without addition of any hardware components helping to meet high power density requirements. A 1kW SiC-based laboratory prototype is designed to verify the proposed control technique. The experimental results show that an input power factor of 0.99 with a conversion efficiency of 96.5% and total harmonic distortion (THD) of 2.05 % can be achieved. © 2018 IEEE.

Controlling the estimated state of charge (SOC) for battery energy storage systems (BESSs) is the main challenge behind increasing lithium-ion battery use in home energy management systems (HEMSs). This paper proposes a BESS EMS control strategy considering a dynamic battery model with second-order RC and a nonlinear adaptive unscented Kalman filter (AUKF) state estimation to control HEMSs. The battery model with second-order RC uses open-circuit-voltage over SOC and parameter identification so that the EMS meets a nonlinear model state estimation for model predictive control (MPC). The AUKF algorithm is used to improve reliable and accurate data-based SOC estimation. Adaptive MPC is utilized to achieve optimal power and voltage allocation control of home appliance energy usage via BESSs. The effective2ness of the proposed control strategy is verified through simulation to achieve optimal control of a BESS within a given SOC and to meet data of home power usage patterns. © 2018 IEEE.

Moiré superlattices of van der Waals materials, such as twisted graphene and transitional metal dichalcogenides, have recently emerged as a fascinating platform to study strongly correlated states in two dimensions (2D), thanks to the strong electron interaction in the moiré minibands.1-19 In most systems, the correlated states appear when the moiré lattice is filled by integer number of electrons per moiré unit cell. Recently, correlated states at fractional fillings of 1/3 and 2/3 holes per moiré unit cell has been reported in the WS2/WSe2 heterobilayer, hinting the long range nature of the electron interaction.16 In this work, employing a scanning microwave impedance microscopy technique that is sensitive to local electrical properties, we observe a series of correlated insulating states at fractional fillings of the moiré minibands on both electron- and hole-doped sides in angle-aligned WS2/WSe2 hetero-bilayers, with certain states persisting at temperatures up to 120 K. Monte Carlo simulations reveal that these insulating states correspond to ordering of electrons in the moiré lattice with a periodicity much larger than the moiré unit cell, indicating a surprisingly strong and long-range interaction beyond the nearest neighbors. Our findings usher in unprecedented opportunities in the study of strongly correlated states in two dimensions. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper investigates the ultimate boundedness control problem for a class of networked systems with redundant channels under uniform quantization effects. Quantized output of concerned NCSs is transmitted to remote controller through a communication channel. For the purpose of improving communication quality, a redundant channel connected with a more precise quantizer is also employed, where the time to accomplish quantizing task is also considered. The transmission delays of such a redundant channel are modelled by a sequence of independent and identically distributed(i.i.d.) stochastic variable. An output feedback controller is developed under which the exponentially ultimate boundedness in mean square could be *** the virtue of stochastic analysis technology and Lyapunov-like method, sufficient conditions are established to ensure the existence of the desired controller, and the desired gain matrices are then obtained by solving a set of linear matrix ***, the effectiveness of designed controller is demonstrated through a simulation example.

We report the results of an experimental search for ultralight axionlike dark matter in the mass range 162–166 neV. The detection scheme of our Cosmic Axion Spin Precession Experiment is based on a precision measurement of Pb207 solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance in a polarized ferroelectric crystal. Axionlike dark matter can exert an oscillating torque on Pb207 nuclear spins via the electric dipole moment coupling gd or via the gradient coupling gaNN. We calibrate the detector and characterize the excitation spectrum and relaxation parameters of the nuclear spin ensemble with pulsed magnetic resonance measurements in a 4.4 T magnetic field. We sweep the magnetic field near this value and search for axionlike dark matter with Compton frequency within a 1 MHz band centered at 39.65 MHz. Our measurements place the upper bounds |gd|<9.5×10−4 GeV−2 and |gaNN|<2.8×10−1 GeV−1 (95% confidence level) in this frequency range. The constraint on gd corresponds to an upper bound of 1.0×10−21 e cm on the amplitude of oscillations of the neutron electric dipole moment and 4.3×10−6 on the amplitude of oscillations of CP-violating θ parameter of quantum chromodynamics. Our results demonstrate the feasibility of using solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance to search for axionlike dark matter in the neV mass range.
