The overviews of workshops focusing on evaluation of ubiquitous systems, is presented. The workshops 'Reality Testing: HCI Challenges in Nontraditional Environments' and 'technology has Escaped from the Zoo: Studying Usability in the Wild' were focus on the challenges with conducting user studies and to identify common themes to develop an evaluation framework. The In Situ 2007 workshop was focus on the role of mobile devices, pervasive technology, future directions, and in situ evaluation methods. The Ubiquitous Systems Evaluation workshop was focus on the themes of users and usability, prototype-based systems development, and ubiquitous system components. The Workshop on Evaluating Ubiquitous Systems with Users aimed to build community to identify future research directions. These workshops were focus for standardized evaluation techniques for reuses.

Within the CHI community there is growing interest in moving beyond cognition and expanding into the social, emotional, and bodily aspects of the human-computer experience. Sex lies at the intersection of these concerns, and indeed outside of HCI, has become a central topic for anthropology, behavioral sciences, and other areas of intellectual inquiry. Examining sex and themes related to it has benefited these disciplines and we intend to understand how it can contribute to HCI. There is a tendency to desexualize technology, despite the presence of sex and sexuality in a variety of interactions, including the use of the internet for viewing pornography, building online communities, and facilitating intimacy. By rendering these interactions sexless, we risk gaining only a marginal understanding of technology's role in day-to-day life.
