Resource loss systems (ReLS) with signals, in which arrival of a signal triggers resource reallocation of a customer, are often used in the performance analysis of the contemporary mobile networks, especially those that utilize high-frequency bands. An analytical solution for the stationary distribution of such systems is not obtained yet. Approximate calculation methods utilize the stationary distribution of ReLS without signals at the departure instants. In the paper, we develop an efficient convolution algorithm for evaluation of the probability metrics at the departure instants. In the case study, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in terms of execution time. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Self-Timed circuits are optimal for implementing computing systems operating under extreme conditions. They function reliably under any changes in environmental and power conditions, detect all constant faults, and are more resistant to soft errors than synchronous counterparts. The article considers the problem of correct practical self-Timed implementation of the operation of multiplying two operands with subsequent third operand addition and subtraction without intermediate product rounding as a pipeline with multiplexing of its parallel sections. Statistical analysis shows that in 64% of cases the operation result does not depend on the product, and in 29% of cases it does not depend on the third operand, which allows not performing a number of intermediate data transformations. Branching the pipeline reduces power consumption and improves its performance with the appropriate values of the input operands due to the lower complexity of the alternative path's stages. An active path marker FIFO (First Input First Output) guarantees the correct sequence of the operation results. The program ASPECT, analyzing circuits for semi-modularity, proves the self-Timing of the described implementation. © 2023 IEEE.

The study aims to evaluate the Landsat 8 Thermal Infrared Sensor land surface temperature (LST) products and Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) LST environmental data record against ground observations in Armenia and Belarus. The data from the Landsat-8 satellite is used due to its high spatial resolution. In contrast, the VIIRS information is obtained due to its high temporal resolution, accessible with a minimal delay after the flyby of satellites. Algorithms to calculate LST were analyzed to find the best performance for both daytime and nighttime data. The evaluation shows that the current VIIRS LST products demonstrate a reasonable accuracy, with a root mean squared error average of 2.77 K and an average coefficient of determination of 0.92 K. © 2023 IEEE.

Field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) serve as a convenient tool for prototyping and debugging developed digital circuits. Their circuitry is optimized for synchronous unit implementation. Computer-aided design systems for digital circuits on FPGAs are also focused on synchronous projects. However, one can also use FPGAs for prototyping self-timed (ST) circuits in the mode of emulating a single-stage representation of some logical and indication cells. The paper analyzes the ST circuit indication cell implementations on the FPGAs and proposes a technique for emulating ST circuits on typical FPGAs. The paper estimates a hardware redundancy of the ST circuit implementations on FPGAs and the results of prototyping an ST unit multiplying two operands with subsequent third operand addition and subtraction without intermediate rounding on the Intel Cyclone and Arria families FPGAs. © 2024 IEEE.

Fifth-generation (5G) networks are expected to revolutionize wireless communication by enabling faster and more reliable data transfer rates. However, the use of millimeter-wave frequencies in 5G networks introduces unique challenges in data transmission due to phenomena such as dynamic signal blockage, which can result in sudden and intense resource demands for customers. This paper presents a mathematical model of a 5G base station using a resource allocation system with waiting and non-homogeneous resource requirements for customers. The study aims to determine the most efficient way to select customers from the waiting buffer to increase system performance and minimize the probability of blocking data customers and reduce waiting time in the waiting buffer. As a result of the research, it was found, that the service discipline that prioritized customers with the highest resource requirements and took them from the waiting buffer until the system reached its limit, demonstrates the best system performance under certain parameters. In particular, in this paper, an analytical model was obtained for one of the service disciplines with the calculation of a system of equilibrium equations and performance measures. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Limit cycles of multi-parameter polynomial dynamical systems

This is an overview of our recent works on the global bifurcation analysis of multi-parameter polynomial dynamical systems. In particular, using our bifurcation-geometric approach, we study the global dynamics and solve the problem on the maximum number and the distribution of limit cycles in a polynomial Euler–Lagrange–Liénard-type mechanical system. We also consider a rational endocrine system by carrying out the global bifurcation analysis of a reduced planar quartic Topp system, which models the dynamics of diabetes. By analyzing global bifurcations and applying the Wintner–Perko termination principle, we prove that such a system can have at most two limit cycles. © 2022, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

This paper covers the research of self-assembly phenomenon implementation problems within the recurrent-dynamic approach to the construction of computing architectures. The self-assembly phenomenon that occurs during the nanostructure formation process is approached in relation to the computing systems. An approach to implement the computational process based on this phenomenon has been previously proposed. The recurrent-dynamic approach has been developed as a step towards the implementation of the self-assembly phenomenon. Its main principles are self-sufficient data and recurrence, which are covered within the paper. Based on this approach the prototype of multi-core recurrent data-flow architecture has been developed and a description of its features is provided. An analysis of the existing method for implementing the self-assembly phenomenon within the architecture prototype is also presented. Self-assembly phenomenon implementation issues and their possible solutions are formulated. © 2023 IEEE.

RDNF Oriented Analytics to Random Boolean Functions

Dominant areas of computer science and computation systems are intensively linked to the hypercube-related studies and interpretations. This article presents some transformations and analytics for some example algorithms and Boolean domain problems. Our focus is on the methodology of complexity evaluation and integration of several types of postulations concerning special hypercube structures. Our primary goal is to demonstrate the usual formulas and analytics in this area, giving the necessary set of common formulas often used for complexity estimations and approximations. The basic example under considered is the Boolean minimization problem, in terms of the average complexity of the so-called reduced disjunctive normal form (also referred to as complete, prime irredundant, or Blake canonical form). In fact, combinatorial counterparts of the disjunctive normal form complexities are investigated in terms of sets of their maximal intervals. The results obtained compose the basis of logical separation classification algorithmic technology of pattern recognition. In fact, these considerations are not only general tools of minimization investigations of Boolean functions, but they also prove useful structures, models, and analytics for constraint logic programming, machine learning, decision policy optimization and other domains of computer science.
