The load frequency control (LFC) problem in multi-area power systems is very common whenFtable RES are added to the power grid because of their irregular behavior. Renewable energy combined with a thermal generator makes a multi-area power system. As renewable sources are not stable, that's why they are attached to conventional sources to complete the load demand. This paper implemented a sophisticated control technique known as the Marine Predator Algorithm (MPA) in conjunction with PID n for LFC of the interconnected power system. By using the MPA control technique, their behavior to locate and capture prey helps to effectively encounter frequency fluctuations in the power system. Different controllers, like GA-PI, FFA-PI, and ABC-PID n , have been analyzed in this study and compared with the proposed technique to show the superiority of the proposed technique.

In fluorescence microscopy,computational algorithms have been developed to suppress noise,enhance contrast,and even enable super-resolution(SR).However,the local quality of the images may vary on multiple scales,and these differences can lead to *** mapping methods fail to finely estimate the local quality,challenging to associate the SR scale ***,we develop a rolling Fourier ring correlation(rFRC)method to evaluate the reconstruction uncertainties down to SR *** visually pinpoint regions with low reliability,a filtered rFRC is combined with a modified resolution-scaled error map(RSM),offering a comprehensive and concise map for further *** demonstrate their performances on various SR imaging modalities,and the resulting quantitative maps enable better SR images integrated from different ***,we expect that our framework can become a routinely used tool for biologists in assessing their image datasets in general and inspire further advances in the rapidly developing field of computational imaging.

This paper considers fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles (FCHEV) including a proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell as the main energy source, and lithium-ion battery and ultra-capacitor as energy storage systems to support the fuel cell. The two important objectives are to share the current demand of the traction motor among the energy sources and maintain the stability of the DC-bus voltage. The current sharing is based on an energy management scheme. A passivity-based control (PBC) approach is proposed to achieve current tracking based on the energy management and regulate the DC-bus voltage. The PBC is a nonlinear control approach that guarantees the stability of a closed-loop system by making it passive. The feasibility of the proposed control method is evaluated in MATLAB/Simulink.

Fall detection in a bathroom requires privacy as an essential issue. Ultra-wideband sensors have the ability to protect human privacy because their output has only limited information. As a result, interpreting the output is a challenging task. This research implemented a transformer model that learned time-series signals from an ultra-wideband sensor in a bathroom. First, the signals were preprocessed into the two-dimensional range-time format. Second, the range-time data were passed into a convolutional neural network encoder before going into a transformer. Third, the basic movements of humans were used for training. Finally, the encoder and the Transformer were trained separately. The model achieved good accuracy on static postures but not good on transitions due to their overlapped similarity with the static postures.

Low-frequency oscillations (LFO) are generated in interconnected electric networks because of the weak tie lines between the parts of the networks. Such oscillations have been a significant challenge for engineers that may lead to system instability if appropriate measures are not taken. This article proposes two new metaheuristic algorithms, the jellyfish search algorithm (JSA) and the tunicate swarm algorithm (TSA), to design the power system stabilizers (PSS) for single machine infinite bus (SMIB) and multimachine power system (MPS) networks. The proposed method uses the JSA and TSA to dampen out the LFOs by modifying the vital parameters of lead-lag type conventional PSS (CPSS). A damping ratio-based objective function improves both models' system damping. These methods are tested on an SMIB system and two distinct MPS networks exposed to the three-phase fault under various loading conditions. The effectiveness of the suggested approach has been studied by comparing the system eigenvalues and minimum damping ratio (MDR) produced from JSA and TSA-tuned PSS and the CPSS. In addition, time domain simulation results are compared, demonstrating that the new approach outperforms the standard techniques, such as particle swarm optimization (PSO) and backtracking search algorithm (BSA). In the SMIB system, MDR produced by JSA and TSA-based PSS is 2.55 times higher than that of CPSS. Similarly, in comparison to PSO and BSA-based PSS, JSA, and TSA-tuned PSS offer >1.4 times greater MDR in the Two Area Four Machine network and up to 8.4 times larger MDR for the IEEE-39 Bus network. Furthermore, the efficacy of the suggested JSA and TSA approaches' prediction capacity is validated by satisfying the values of statistical performance metrics. © 2024 The Author(s)

Interconnected microgrids provide a variety of advantages, such as improved system reliability, security, and optimized operation. For interconnected microgrids with lowinertia components, maintaining system stability critically relies on efficient load frequency control (LFC) operation. Owing to the substantial size of interconnected microgrids, communication delays are inevitable during the exchange of control and measurement signals. These time delays in communication make the LFC operation a cumbersome problem, as these delays can lead to inappropriate control action and, eventually, system instability. As such, addressing the challenges posed by communication delays becomes imperative to ensure the smooth operation of the LFC system. This study presents an optimal control strategy utilizing a dual-stage controller optimized through the Magnetotatic Bacteria Optimization (MBO) technique for managing the LFC operation in a two-area microgrid while considering realistic communication delays. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller in the LFC operation of a two-area interconnected microgrid, demonstrating its robust performance and reliability in enhancing the LFC performance in the presence of communication delays.

The paper presents to use simultaneously pulsewidth modulation in a current inverter with fully controlled switches, both to form the output voltage curve and to regulate its value. The analysis of regulation and load characteristics of the proposed single-phase current inverter with two-channel output voltage regulation was carried out. It showed that the inverter provided high efficiency of regulation and stabilization of the output voltage in a wide range of loads. The independence of the voltage curve spectrum from the load and the independence of the capacitor filtering action from the inversion frequency and its capacitance have been proved on the basis of theoretical analysis. © 2020 IEEE.

Consensus problems and algorithms are being increasingly applied in problems associated with the management of renewable energy integration in power systems. The concept of numerous microgrid integration needs appropriate coordination and communication, and optimization infrastructure that can be achieved with the multi-agent system formation solved with consensus algorithms. The primary objective of a consensus algorithm is to facilitate the process by which a group of distributed agents may come to a consensus over a quantity of interest by sharing information with one another through a communication network. In this respect, faster convergence quantifies the efficiency of the consensus algorithm. In this paper, Cucker-Smale flocking model is developed for the consensus algorithm. By using this model, consensus can be achieved by randomly choosing the initial positions and velocities of the birds with a minimum number of iterations. The proposed methodology is tested and validated on a ring and mesh communication network topologies with 3 and 12 nodes. The results obtained validate the efficiency of fast convergence of information sharing among the nodes.

The preservation of stability is essential for the efficient and reliable functioning of the electrical transmission system. Frequency oscillations are prevalent in interconnected power systems (IPS) and may lead to instability;therefore, it is crucial to monitor and examine them meticulously. Effective frequency management is essential for regulating frequency output in an interconnected smart power system (ISPS) that includes renewable energy sources (RESs), redox flow batteries (RFBs) and static synchronous series compensators (SSSCs). In view of the challenge presented, this research introduces an efficient control architecture that utilizes a 2 degree of freedom-based model predictive controller (2DoF-MPC) to enhance system performance. Additionally, it integrates a linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) to employ a state observer alongside the evolving frequency management. The convergence of the predictive and state observer frameworks results in a robust 2DoF-MPC-LADRC to manage frequency disturbances and uncertainties in the power system. The suggested technique is thoroughly validated across several parameters for ISPS, instilling confidence in its capacity to attain minimal frequency variation in multiple scenarios. The performance of the proposed controller design shows that the frequency performance in area 1 and area 2 settles in 5.085 sec and 3.965 sec, when the load changes by 3 %, and it settles in 4.655 sec and 4.050 sec, respectively, when the load changes by 5 %. © 2025 ISA

In the last decades, wind turbine systems have emerged as one of the sources of electricity, and they are further considered to be part of the renewable energy sources that produce energy with zero carbon emissions. Due to the high demand for electrical energy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, wind turbines have gained massive consideration in previous and current decades. Harvesting that energy from the wind to utilize by the system and producing electrical energy faced many challenges due to different factors, including the non-proper control system of the plant. In this regard, the paper presents control strategies of wind turbine systems using evolutionary algorithm-based cascaded controllers to tackle these issues. The control techniques used in this work are PSO-PID, SMC-PID and GA-PID. The paper described the principles of each control and optimization technique and their application in wind turbine systems. It also compares the results from each and evaluates their effectiveness in enhancing the performance of wind turbines.
