Mg-6Zn-2X(Fe/Cu/Ni)alloys were prepared through semi-continuous casting,with the aim of identifying a degradable magnesium(Mg)alloy suitable for use in fracturing balls.A comparative analysis was conducted to assess the impacts of adding Cu and Ni,which result in finer grains and the formation of galvanic corrosion *** electronic microscopy examination revealed that precipitated phases concentrated at grain boundaries,forming a semi-continuous network structure that facilitated corrosion penetration in Mg-6Zn-2Cu and Mg-6Zn-2Ni *** corrosion was observed in Mg-6Zn-2Fe,while galvanic corrosion was identified as the primary mechanism in Mg-6Zn-2Cu and Mg-6Zn-2Ni *** the tests,the Mg-6Zn-2Ni alloy exhibited the highest corrosion rate(approximately 932.9 mm/a)due to its significant potential *** testing showed that Mg-6Zn-2Ni alloy possessed suitable ultimate compressive strength,making it a potential candidate material for degradable fracturing balls,effectively addressing the challenges of balancing strength and degradation rate in fracturing applications.

LSReg-Net: An End-to-end Registration Network for Large-Scale LiDAR Point Cloud in Autonomous Driving

Large-scale point cloud registration is a foundamental problem for autonomous driving. To achieve alignment, most existing methods focus on local point cloud features for matching. However, these approaches fail to account for the sparse distribution of features in large-scale driving scenarios, limiting their effectiveness. This article introduces an end-to-end registration network, named LSReg-Net, specifically designed to address this challenge, offering a more reliable solution for large-scale LiDAR point cloud. The LSReg-Net performs registration by following sequential modules. Firstly, this study develops a sampling strategy, Distance- Weighted Farthest Points Sampling (DW-FPS), which effectively enhances sparse feature robustness. Then a Scale Attention Fusion (SAF) network is proposed to capture both local and geometric features. By considering both spatial sparsity and geometric context of the keypoints, the LSReg-Net obtains accurate correspondences after matching. Finally, a coarse-to-fine registration module is conducted with multilevel correspondences to acquire a precise rigid transformation. Extensive experiments on two large-scale LiDAR datasets demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms existing registration methods. In addition, real-world experiments based on an experimental platform further validate the high efficiency. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

At present, the monitoring of debris flow in China is mainly oriented to the middle and low altitude areas, and the geological disaster monitoring and warning network mainly covers the risk points of geological disasters in the middle and low altitude areas. For the high cold and high altitude areas, the monitoring is blind at present, but once the eruption of debris flow in the high cold mountain area, it will have a huge impact on the downstream debris flow. In view of the terraced field terrain in Gansu Province, manual spraying of crops is not only time-consuming and inefficient, but also likely to cause safety problems due to the long-term contact of operators with pesticides. Therefore, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for plant protection and pesticide spraying was proposed. Terrace fields were collected for vertical view and they were first rasterized using the oxen-led (Boustrophedon) plant protection method to plan the full-coverage path of the UAV. Pesticides were sprayed on the crops. After they finish a layer of spraying, the UAV fell a certain distance from the second terrace of crops onto the next layer. Such a process was repeated until the completion of the entire task. If there is a missed area that has not been sprayed, the operator can automatically control the UAV to spray. It provides comprehensive coverage of complex areas, which is environmentally safe and efficient, and can be applied to agricultural operations. © 2023 SPIE.

Experimental Study on L-shaped Concrete-filled Steel Tubular Columns under Axial Compression and Eccentric Compression

Special-shaped concrete-filled steel tubular columns are widely utilized in high-rise buildings. In order to further simplify the construction steps and increase the application scope, a novel L-shaped concrete-filled steel tubular column (LCFSTC) was proposed. Nine specimens, scaled at 1:1, were designed and grouped with specimen lengths of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 m. Compressive tests were performed on the nine specimens under various experimental parameters, including specimen length, concrete strength, and loading conditions (axial or eccentric loading). The tests aimed to verify the reliability of the LCFSTC and explore its mechanical properties by analysing failure modes, load-vertical deflection curves, load-rotation angle curves, and load-strain curves. Results demonstrate that no specimen experienced weld seam failure, indicating good structural integrity for the LCFSTCs. For the axial-loading specimens, the bearing capacity and ductility increase with the specimen length. As the specimen length increases from 0.5 m to 1.0 and 2.0 m, the ductility coefficient (mean value) decreases by 23.0% and 47.2%, respectively. Increasing the concrete strength can improve the bearing capacity;the average bearing capacity of the specimens with a concrete strength of C40 increases by 17.1% compared with that of the C30 specimens. Eccentric loading increases the lateral deformation and affects the strain distribution and bearing capacity. This study can provide a good reference for the application and design of special-shaped concrete-filled steel tubular columns. © (2024) School of Science, DUTH. All rights reserved.

In this paper, the cooperation mode of school and enterprise in Zhuhai and Macau will be analyzed. The collaborative innovation of school-enterprise in China still has problems such as the low level of cooperation between the two parties, the low efficiency of cooperation and the lack of guarantee measures. In order to solve these problems, this paper adopts the S-E evaluation index system to double-check the school and enterprise. MCT-Net: a multi-branch hybrid CNN-transformer model for medical image segmentation

In recent years, neural networks have demonstrated substantial progress in medical image segmentation. However, accurately segmenting objects in medical images is often restricted by edge blurring, which complicates the delineation of structures of interest. The purpose of this study is to develop a multi-branch hybrid CNN-transformer model to address the issue of edge blurring in medical image segmentation. This approach enables more precise edge detection and segmentation. Integrating hybrid CNN and transformer decoders facilitates detailed recovery while preserving global structures, thus minimizing errors in regions with blurred edges. Additionally, we incorporate a hybrid attention mechanism at the model’s bottleneck to enhance feature transfer between the encoder and decoder. The model was trained using the ACDC, Synapse, and polyp datasets, with a focus on improving segmentation accuracy in regions with blurry edges. Experimental results reveal that the proposed model surpasses existing state-of-the-art methods on the ACDC, Synapse, and polyp datasets, demonstrating its superior performance and effectiveness. These results suggest that the proposed model offers a significant improvement in handling edge blurring, with potential applications in enhancing medical image analysis and diagnostics. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.
