We present a simple and stable liquid refractive index measurement technique via electrically tunable lens (ETL). A focal point is produced when the parallel light passes through a convex lens. If a parallel plate with tested liquid is placed behind the lens, the position of focal point will be changed, which reflect the change of liquid refractive index. The axial displacement of focus point can be obtained by moving the camera and used to calculate the liquid refractive index. To avoid the mechanical movement of system, the convex lens is replaced by an electrically tunable lens. By exactly controlling the external currents of the ETL, the position of focal point can remain unchanged after placing the parallel plate with tested liquid. The change of focal length can be obtained by the change of external currents, which equal to the axial displacement of focus point. Thus, the liquid refractive index can be measured with the change of focal length. Some experiments of water, blend oil and 75% alcohol for measuring the liquid refractive index demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Cu_(2)Te-based materials are a type of superionic conductor belonging to the class of phonon-liquid elec-tron-crystal materials and have achieved high ZT values by doping and ***,it is easy to form copper vacancies in Cu_(2)Te which leads to an excessive carrier concentration and then results in a low Seebeck ***,controlling copper ion migration and optimizing carrier concen-tration is essential to improve the thermoelectric performance of Cu_(2)*** paper reports high-performance Cu_(2)TeeAg_(2)Te composite with high application value in the low-middle temperature re-gion,which is achieved by fine tuning the carrier concentration using Fe addition and non-stoichiometric Te,as well as controlling the thermal conductivity of composite.A high ZT of~1.2 is obtained in AgCu_(0.97)Fe_(0.03)Te_(0.96)at a low temperature of 573 ***,the phase transition mechanism of Cu_(2)TeeAg_(2)Te and its effect on the thermoelectric transport performance are revealed that go beyond nanostructuring and single-doping,which provides a strong theoretical basis for research and perfor-mance improvement of thermoelectric materials in this system.

In the current security analysis and research of AES cryptographic algorithm, most of them use energy attacks through computer simulation, microcontroller experiments and other means. This is not only very different from the actual power consumption generated by the AES hardware circuit used in practice, but also Moreover, there are obvious differences in the power consumption caused by different bus structures that appear in the actual use of AES. This paper analyzes the security of the hardware circuit implementation of an AES algorithm under different bit input data. It uses FPGA as the hardware circuit foundation, uses the mean difference method in DPA as the security analysis method, and uses the first round of The S-box is used as the attack point to attack, and the 128-bit source key can be derived in turn. Low-resource imbalance texts pose significant challenges due to class imbalance, adversely affecting the performance of deep learning approaches. To address this issue, we propose a dual-head alternating attention-based adaptive convolutional framework with label embedding (AltXLM-AdaCLE), a novel framework designed for imbalanced text classification in low-resourced datasets. Our framework features a new alternating attention model, which combines a dual-head attention mechanism with a bidirectional long short-term memory network, facilitating dynamic filter generation that adapts to the input data’s characteristics and enhances the capture of relevant features and long-range dependencies. A key innovation in this study is the dual-head attention mechanism, which utilizes an alternating reading sequence to extract information from multiple document segments, thereby minimizing information loss and improving the understanding of complex relationships. Furthermore, we introduce a method for embedding class labels in a shared vector space with the text, allowing the model to leverage label information throughout the classification process, which is particularly beneficial for imbalanced datasets. Our framework also incorporates an adaptive convolutional layer that processes text features and label embeddings, generating more representative features of the underlying data distribution and improving classification performance. Experimental results on six low-resourced imbalance text datasets validate the effectiveness of AltXLM-AdaCLE with an average AUC gain of 26.42%, demonstrating its superiority over existing methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Mountain roads serve as vital links connecting remote areas with the outside world. The stability of road slopes in these regions is particularly significant due to complex terrain and variable geological conditions. Accurately predicting slope displacement is crucial for disaster prevention and ensuring traffic safety. This paper proposes a predictive model that combines variational mode decomposition (VMD) and long short-term memory neural network (LSTM) to improve the accuracy and reliability of slope displacement prediction for mountain roads. The original slope displacement data is preprocessed using VMD, decomposing it into trend, periodic, and random modal components. Then, the LSTM model is utilized to predict each modal component. Experimental results show that the proposed VMD-LSTM model outperforms single-use LSTM, XGBoost, and ELM models in terms of prediction accuracy, with RMSE, MAE, and MAPE values of 0.102, 0.098, and 2.854%, respectively, demonstrating the effectiveness and superiority of the model. © 2025 SPIE.

In the context of convection-heating-based in situ oil shale retorting,fractures serve as primary pathways for fluid migration and product *** study investigates the permeability and microstructural evolution of oil shale during water vapor injection in single-fracture and no-fracture *** types of oil shale are investigated:intact oil shale,oil shale with a single straight crack,and oil shale with a single hydraulic *** increasing water vapor temperature,the permeabilities of the intact oil shale and oil shale with a fractured crack exhibit a trend of initial increase,followed by a decrease,and then a subsequent ***,the permeability of oil shale with a single straight crack consistently increases and exceeds that of oil shale with a fractured *** temperaturedependent permeability changes in fractured oil shale-a slight decrease in fracture cracks and a gradual increase in straight cracks-mainly occur in the range of 300℃-350℃.The permeability of oil shale with a straight crack is approximately three times that of oil shale with a fractured *** is attributed to the retention of viscous asphaltene and the frictional resistance caused by the rough fracture *** the oil shale with a single crack,the crack permeability has a dominant influence on the overall permeability of the *** contribution of the permeability of the straight crack exceeds 94.6%,while that of the permeability of the fractured crack is greater than 86.1%.The disparity in the contribution of these two crack structures is evident at 350℃-550℃.

Boosting algorithms have been widely utilized in the development of landslide susceptibility mapping(LSM)***,these algorithms possess distinct computational strategies and hyperparameters,making it challenging to propose an ideal LSM *** investigate the impact of different boosting algorithms and hyperparameter optimization algorithms on LSM,this study constructed a geospatial database comprising 12 conditioning factors,such as elevation,stratum,and annual average *** XGBoost(XGB),LightGBM(LGBM),and CatBoost(CB)algorithms were employed to construct the LSM ***,the Bayesian optimization(BO),particle swarm optimization(PSO),and Hyperband optimization(HO)algorithms were applied to optimizing the LSM *** boosting algorithms exhibited varying performances,with CB demonstrating the highest precision,followed by LGBM,and XGB showing poorer ***,the hyperparameter optimization algorithms displayed different performances,with HO outperforming PSO and BO showing poorer *** HO-CB model achieved the highest precision,boasting an accuracy of 0.764,an F1-score of 0.777,an area under the curve(AUC)value of 0.837 for the training set,and an AUC value of 0.863 for the test *** model was interpreted using SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP),revealing that slope,curvature,topographic wetness index(TWI),degree of relief,and elevation significantly influenced landslides in the study *** study offers a scientific reference for LSM and disaster prevention *** study examines the utilization of various boosting algorithms and hyperparameter optimization algorithms in Wanzhou *** proposes the HO-CB-SHAP framework as an effective approach to accurately forecast landslide disasters and interpret LSM ***,limitations exist concerning the generalizability of the model and the data processing,which require further exploration in subsequent studies.

Face recognition has become a convenient method for identity verification, especially the one-shot task has much practical value. Some former works have achieved considerable results. However, they perform ill under the situation of COVID-19 with more and more people wearing a mask. This requires the extracted face features distinguishable and robust enough for classifying different masked people. It is difficult for the one-shot task with only one sample for training. To solve this problem, we designed a network called Region Inception ResNet with Modified Triplet Loss, which generates robust features. It keeps high accuracy even under masked condition. The networks are trained on the datasets of CASIA-Webface and Ms-Celeb-1M, tested on LFW (Labelled Faces in the Wild). Experiments in Section 6 show the effectiveness of our method. © 2022 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In order to improve the anti-interference and anti sway control performance of overhead crane system,an auto disturbance rej ection controller based on wandering strategy and improved LSO algorithm is designed in this *** at the parameter setting problem of automatic disturbance rejection controller(ADRC),the wandering lion group optimization algorithm(WLSO) is introduced,including Lion King wandering strategy and Lion Group wandering *** implementing numeric experiment test,the effectiveness of the WLSO is confirmed by benchmark ***,by implementing the simulation experiments under different conditions,the results show that the WLSO algorithm based ADRC controller has significantly modified the suppression of load swing and position control as well as the anti-interference.
