Accurate prediction of the geographical spatial distribution location of traffic accidents can provide drivers with richer traffic geographic information, thereby reducing the rate of traffic accidents. However, the existing methods for predicting the geographical spatial distribution location of traffic accidents have the problems of large error and long time. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for predicting the geographical spatial distribution location of traffic accidents based on the traffic flow gig data. First, collect traffic flow big data during the accident through highway detectors. Secondly, the collected data is processed for exception deletion, missing completion and geocode conversion. Finally, according to the geographical spatial distribution characteristics, the geographical spatial distribution of traffic accidents is predicted through Kalman filter. The experimental results show that this method predicts the geographical spatial distribution of traffic accidents based on actual test results, with good prediction effect and high prediction efficiency. © 2023, Aracne Editrice. As the number of patent applications increases yearly, the negation relation between patents has become intertwined, which makes it difficult for constructing negation relation in patent examination manually. Therefore, how to automatically construct negation relation between patents has become the hot research. Constructing negation relation is the process of comparing technical features between patents, which depends on the technical features in the patent claims and the technical function-effect. Although there are many researches on patent one-to-one negation, few researches on patent multi-to-one negation. The research on negation relation of multi-to-one patents, has the following challenges: (1) the definition of patent features is ambiguous in comparison of negation relation;(2) the role of patent function-effect is often ignored in judgement of negation relation. To solve the above issues, we propose a technical function-effect based patent multi-to-one negation game model. In the model, we decompose patent technical features into technical utility and technical function-effect. Patent technical utility is mainly realized by using the valence theory in linguistics. After obtaining technical utility, we choose to have the same technical effect, express the technical features of different technical functions, and obtain the patent technical function-effect. Finally, we combine the technical utility and function-effect to construct a technical utility/function-effect game tree to judge the patent negation relation. According to the two-tailed test in the A/B-test, our model outperforms the baseline model in the evaluation measurement. This model can subsequently be used to calculate the portfolio value and the strategic value of the patents. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays, the best-effort service can not guarantee the quality of service (QoS) for all kinds of services. QoS routing is an important method to guarantee QoS requirements. It involves path selection for flows based on the current network status and the performance criteria of the service requirements. However, it is difficult for proposed solutions to obtain all the available paths owing to not fully considering all the QoS parameters of paths. In this paper, we propose SWQoS, a novel, universal, and stepwise QoS guarantee scheme based on multiple QoS parameter evaluation for selecting the available paths including preferred paths, satisfied paths and reluctant paths in SDN. The experiments show that SWQoS can select all the available paths that meet the performance criteria of the service requirements and have better QoS parameter performance compared with other path selection methods. © 2021, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Circular RNA (circRNA) is an RNA molecule that plays an important role in both pathology and physiology. Accurate identification of associations between circRNAs and diseases is crucial for further physiology research. However, verifying the circRNA-disease associations (CDA) through biological experimental methods is time-consuming. Here, we propose a novel method combines Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) and Adversarially Regularized Variational Graph Autoencoder (ARVGA) to accurately predict CDA. Our model first fuses multi-source information in order to build circRNA similarity, disease similarity and circRNA-disease association matrices. Thereby our model constructs graphs for circRNA and disease respectively and optimize them using a K-means clustering algorithm. We obtain linear features using NMF and non-linear features using ARVGA. Finally, an Extremely Randomized Trees classifier is employed to predict CDA. On the gold standard dataset CircR2Disease, our model achieved a prediction accuracy of 94.8% and an AUC of 0.984 under 5-fold cross-validation. In case study, 19 of top 20 predicted circRNAs associated with Hepatocellular Carcinoma were confirmed in relevant literature. Furthermore, ablation experiment, classifier experiment and independent datasets test fully demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our model.

Medical image report generation has gained significant attention as an essential task in automated diagnosis, aiming to reduce the workload of physicians and expedite the diagnostic process. However, existing methods predominantly rely on coarse-grained global features, neglecting the fine-grained regional analysis. This limitation potentially leads to the loss of crucial diagnostic information. To address this challenge, we propose the Regional-Global Interaction Network (RGI), an innovative architecture designed to provide more granular information to the model. The RGI introduces two key components: (1) a region selection agent that precisely locates and selects relevant image patches based on input regional word embeddings, and (2) a bidirectional cross-attention mechanism that fuses the selected regional features with global features. This approach enables the model to capture local details while retaining global context. Extensive experiments on the IU X-Ray dataset demonstrate that our RGI architecture significantly improves the accuracy of medical image analysis and report generation. DFGET: Displacement-Field Assisted Graph Energy Transmitter for Gland Instance Segmentation

Gland instance segmentation is an essential but challenging task in the diagnosis and treatment of adenocarcinoma. The existing models usually achieve gland instance segmentation through multi-task learning and boundary loss constraint. However, how to deal with the problems of gland adhesion and inaccurate boundary in segmenting the complex samples remains a challenge. In this work, we propose a displacement-field assisted graph energy transmitter (DFGET) framework to solve these problems. Specifically, a novel message passing manner based on anisotropic diffusion is developed to update the node features, which can distinguish the isomorphic graphs and improve the expressivity of graph nodes for complex samples. Using such graph framework, the gland semantic segmentation map and the displacement field (DF) of the graph nodes are estimated with two graph network branches. With the constraint of DF, a graph cluster module based on diffusion theory is presented to improve the intra-class feature consistency and inter-class feature discrepancy, as well as to separate the adherent glands from the semantic segmentation maps. Extensive comparison and ablation experiments on the GlaS dataset demonstrate the superiority of DFGET and effectiveness of the proposed anisotropic message passing manner and clustering method. Compared to the best comparative model, DFGET increases the object-Dice and object-F1 score by 2.5% and 3.4% respectively, while decreases the object-HD by 32.4%, achieving state-of-the-art performance. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the early stage of AD. Previous studies have predominantly focused on binary classification using 3 dimensional - convolutional neural network (3D-CNN) for AD diagnosis, with limited progress in multi-classification. Moreover, the current 3D-CNNs often adopt a single-scale architecture with massive parameters growth. Additionally, obtaining precise location information of brain imaging data is crucial for improving the classification accuracy with 3D-CNN. Hence, we propose a multi-scale 3D-CNN based on coordinate attention mechanism to marvelously capture and integrate 3D features with fewer parameters, improving the accuracy of AD diagnosis. A total of 447 cognitively normal (CN), 512 MCI, and 358 AD sMRI images from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative datasets are used for multi-class classification task, yielding a classification accuracy of 92.8%. The model merely involves 2.41 M parameters and achieves the best classification results with the least number of parameters when compared to other representative CNN architectures including ResNet 18, ResNet 34, ConvNeXt tiny, and VGG 11. Through the ablation experiment, the addition of attention mechanism and the multi-scale classification enhances the classification performance by 4.5% and 1.5%, respectively. Furthermore, our model outperforms the other six existing studies in terms of accuracy for classifying AD vs. MCI vs. CN. Overall, this study underscores the efficacy of our approach for AD diagnosis, showcasing its utility in diagnosing AD patients and providing novel insights for diagnosing other neurological disorder diseases.

Multilevel Perception Boundary-guided Network for Breast Lesion Segmentation in Ultrasound Images

Automatic segmentation of breast tumors from the ultrasound images is essential for the subsequent clinical diagnosis and treatment plan. Although the existing deep learning-based methods have achieved significant progress in automatic segmentation of breast tumor, their performance on tumors with similar intensity to the normal tissues is still not pleasant, especially for the tumor boundaries. To address this issue, we propose a PBNet composed by a multilevel global perception module (MGPM) and a boundary guided module (BGM) to segment breast tumors from ultrasound images. Specifically, in MGPM, the long-range spatial dependence between the voxels in a single level feature maps are modeled, and then the multilevel semantic information is fused to promote the recognition ability of the model for non-enhanced tumors. In BGM, the tumor boundaries are extracted from the high-level semantic maps using the dilation and erosion effects of max pooling, such boundaries are then used to guide the fusion of low and high-level features. Moreover, to improve the segmentation performance for tumor boundaries, a multi-level boundary-enhanced segmentation (BS) loss is proposed. The extensive comparison experiments on both publicly available dataset and in-house dataset demonstrate that the proposed PBNet outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of both qualitative visualization results and quantitative evaluation metrics, with the Dice score, Jaccard coefficient, Specificity and HD95 improved by 0.70%, 1.1%, 0.1% and 2.5% respectively. In addition, the ablation experiments validate that the proposed MGPM is indeed beneficial for distinguishing the non-enhanced tumors and the BGM as well as the BS loss are also helpful for refining the segmentation contours of the tumor. Accurate gland segmentation in colorectal cancer histopathology images is crucial for diagnosis and grading but is hampered by the limited availability of annotated data. To develop a robust and accurate gland segmentation method that effectively leverages unlabeled data to overcome the limitations of small annotated datasets. We propose a novel framework that combines self-supervised learning and transfer learning. A vision transformer is pre-trained using DINOv2 on a large unlabeled dataset (IMP-CRS-2024) and then fine-tuned on the GlaS dataset using a lightweight decoder and a boundary-aware loss function that combines Dice loss and a distance transform-weighted boundary loss. Our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on the GlaS dataset, surpassing existing methods in terms of F1-score, Object Dice, and Object Hausdorff distance. An ablation study confirms the benefits of both the self-supervised pre-training and the boundary-aware loss. Our approach effectively addresses the challenge of limited annotated data in gland segmentation, offering a promising solution for improving the accuracy and efficiency of colorectal cancer diagnosis. The transcription process is the initial step in gene expression and the core of the regulatory mechanism, in which transcription factors control gene expression through interactions with particular DNA sequences. Therefore, identification of transcription factor binding sites (TFBSs) provides theoretical basis for further dissection of transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and disease diagnosis. To address the limitations of current research on TFBSs, a novel symmetric Encoder-Decoder framework is proposed for predicting transcription factor binding signals values at base sites. Our approach utilizes word vectors to encode DNA sequences, followed by encoders that progressively extract feature representations from these sequences. We then employ Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) to capture the contextual dependencies within the sequences, ultimately using decoders to reconstruct the binding signal values for the DNA sequence sites. In order to access the effectiveness of the proposed symmetric Encoder-Decoder framework, some experiments were conducted on 20 ChIP-seq datasets, and the results show that the proposed novel method outperformers several existing advanced methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
