The data of applications in connected and autonomous vehicles are important, which is usually collected by service providers to improve their services, such as object detection model. But, wireless communication is susceptible to various kinds of attacks. Thus, the data of the application module needs to be securely shared to the corresponding service provider. However, current schemes are with limited performance while a service provider collects multiple application data at the same time. By adopting signcryption and chaotic map, an efficient authentication and key agreement scheme is proposed, while batch authentication is achieved for efficient message authentication of multiple applications, and the efficient revocation is realized based on Chinese remainder theorem under the assistance of trusted execution environment supported vehicle computing/communication unit. The formal security proof shows that the scheme is secure under the random oracle model, and the experiment results shows that the scheme is more efficient than related schemes and can meet the requirements of CAV. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.

A low-profile, high-gain, wideband circularly polarized folded transmitarray antenna (CPFTA) is proposed, and a polarization-selective linear-to-circular polarization (LP-CP) conversion element is introduced. The CPFTA consists of a linearly polarized (LP) magnetoelectric dipole antenna and a circularly polarized (CP) helical patch antenna. The CPFTA demonstrates excellent performance with a 3dB gain bandwidth of 29.5% and a 3dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 40.9%. © 2024 IEEE.

On four conjectures of Heng-Ding and p-ary linear codes from monomials

Subfield codes of linear codes over finite fields have recently attracted great attention due to their wide applications in secret sharing schemes, authentication codes and association schemes. There are two major ingredients in this paper. The first ingredient is to solve four conjectures recently proposed by Heng and Ding (IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory, 68(6): 3643-3656, 2022). Besides, we also determine the weight distributions of subfield codes derived from x3 and oval polynomials over F2m. The second ingredient is to obtain two classes of p-ary linear codes from monomials over Fpm. We study the parameters of the constructed codes and determine their weight distributions. Notably, we show that the codes C(p) (xpi, pm) are optimal and almost optimal in many cases with respect to the online Database of Grassl. Finally, we observe that the derived linear codes also have the minimality property for most cases. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Capturing the root cause and propagation path of the fault is critical to ensuring the safety and efficiency of industrial processes, especially those that inadequately utilize process knowledge and data. To address this issue, a unified framework integrating knowledge and data for collaborative root cause identification is proposed. First, the knowledge causal graph (KCG) is constructed using expert knowledge and industrial flow charts, providing a preliminary reference for subsequent causality analysis. Next, by replacing the traditional vector autoregression (VAR) model in Granger Causality (GC) with the gated recurrent unit (GRU), a more reliable causal relationship between variables is obtained. Additionally, a causality fusion propagation path identification method (CF-PPI) is designed to identify the root cause and propagation path of the fault, so that the obtained fault propagation path has less redundancy and higher accuracy. Finally, the method is validated using data from the ASHRAE RP-1043 centrifugal chiller.

Traffic flow estimation (TFE) is crucial for urban intelligent traffic systems. While traditional on-road detectors are hindered by limited coverage and high costs, cloud computing and data mining of vehicular network data, such as driving speeds and GPS coordinates, present a promising and cost-effective alternative. Furthermore, minimizing data collection can significantly reduce overhead. However, limited data can lead to inaccuracies and instability in TFE. To address this, we introduce the spatial-temporal Mamba (ST-Mamba), a deep learning model combining a convolutional neural network (CNN) with a Mamba framework. ST-Mamba is designed to enhance TFE accuracy and stability by effectively capturing the spatial-temporal patterns within traffic flow. Our model aims to achieve results comparable to those from extensive data sets while only utilizing minimal data. Simulations using real-world datasets have validated our model’s ability to deliver precise and stable TFE across an urban landscape based on limited data, establishing a cost-efficient solution for TFE. © 2024, CC BY.

Dynamic Quality of Service(QoS)prediction for services is currently a hot topic and a challenge for research in the fields of service recommendation and *** paper addresses the problem with a Time-aWare service Quality Prediction method(named TWQP),a two-phase approach with one phase based on historical time slices and one on the current time *** the first phase,if the user had invoked the service in a previous time slice,the QoS value for the user calling the service on the next time slice is predicted on the basis of the historical QoS data;if the user had not invoked the service in a previous time slice,then the Covering Algorithm(CA)is applied to predict the missing *** the second phase,we predict the missing values for the current time slice according to the results of the previous phase.A large number of experiments on a real-world dataset,WS-Dream,show that,when compared with the classical QoS prediction algorithms,our proposed method greatly improves the prediction accuracy.

Remote Sensing Image Segmentation Using Vision Mamba and Multi-Scale Multi-Frequency Feature Fusion

As remote sensing imaging technology continues to advance and evolve, processing high-resolution and diversified satellite imagery to improve segmentation accuracy and enhance interpretation efficiency emerg as a pivotal area of investigation within the realm of remote sensing. Although segmentation algorithms based on CNNs and Transformers achieve significant progress in performance, balancing segmentation accuracy and computational complexity remains challenging, limiting their wide application in practical tasks. To address this, this paper introduces state space model (SSM) and proposes a novel hybrid semantic segmentation network based on vision Mamba (CVMH-UNet). This method designs a cross-scanning visual state space block (CVSSBlock) that uses cross 2D scanning (CS2D) to fully capture global information from multiple directions, while by incorporating convolutional neural network branches to overcome the constraints of Vision Mamba (VMamba) in acquiring local information, this approach facilitates a comprehensive analysis of both global and local features. Furthermore, to address the issue of limited discriminative power and the difficulty in achieving detailed fusion with direct skip connections, a multi-frequency multi-scale feature fusion block (MFMSBlock) is designed. This module introduces multi-frequency information through 2D discrete cosine transform (2D DCT) to enhance information utilization and provides additional scale local detail information through point-wise convolution branches. Finally, it aggregates multi-scale information along the channel dimension, achieving refined feature fusion. Findings from experiments conducted on renowned datasets of remote sensing imagery demonstrate that proposed CVMH-UNet achieves superior segmentation performance while maintaining low computational complexity, outperforming surpassing current leading-edge segmentation algorithms. HRTransNet: HRFormer-Driven Two-Modality Salient Object Detection

The High-Resolution Transformer (HRFormer) can maintain high-resolution representation and share global receptive fields. It is friendly towards salient object detection (SOD) in which the input and output have the same resolution. However, two critical problems need to be solved for two-modality SOD. One problem is two-modality fusion. The other problem is the HRFormer output’s fusion. To address the first problem, a supplementary modality is injected into the primary modality by using global optimization and an attention mechanism to select and purify the modality at the input level. To solve the second problem, a dual-direction short connection fusion module is used to optimize the output features of HRFormer, thereby enhancing the detailed representation of objects at the output level. The proposed model, named HRTransNet, first introduces an auxiliary stream for feature extraction of supplementary modality. Then, features are injected into the primary modality at the beginning of each multi-resolution branch. Next, HRFormer is applied to achieve forwarding propagation. Finally, all the output features with different resolutions are aggregated by intra-feature and inter-feature interactive transformers. Knowledge tracing (KT) is a crucial task in online learning, aimed at tracing and predicting each student's knowledge states throughout their learning process. Over the past decade, it has garnered widespread attention due to it provides the potential for more tailored and adaptive online learning experiences. Although most current KT methodologies emphasize optimizing network structures to enhance predictive accuracy for future student performance, they often neglect anomalous interactions in students' learning processes, which may arise from low data quality (i.e., inferior question quality) and abnormal student behaviors (i.e., guessing and mistakes). To this end, in this paper, we propose a novel framework, termed HD-KT, designed to enhance the robustness of existing KT methodologies with Hybrid learning interactions Denoising approach. Specifically, we introduce two detectors for anomalous learning interactions, namely knowledge state-guided anomaly detector and student profile-guided anomaly detector. In the first detection module, we design a sequential autoencoder to identify anomalous learning interactions by detecting atypical student knowledge states. In the second module, we incorporate an attention mechanism by modeling a student's long-term profile to capture irregular interactions. Extensive experiments on four real-world benchmark datasets have decisively shown our HD-KT markedly boosts the robustness of numerous prevailing KT models, consequently increasing the accuracy of future student performance predictions. Additionally, our case studies highlight the versatility of HD-KT in addressing diverse downstream tasks, such as exercise quality analysis and learning behavior-based student clustering. © 2024 ACM.

NetPrompt: Neural Network Prompting Enhances Event Extraction in Large Language Models

Event Extraction involves extracting event-related information such as event types and event arguments from context, which has long been tackled through well-designed neural networks or fine-tuned pre-trained language models. These approaches require substantial annotated data for tuning parameters and are resource-intensive. Recently, Prompting strategies with frozen parameters, such as Chain-of-Thought and Self-Consistency, have delivered success in NLP using LLMs by generating intermediate thought steps. However, they suffer from the challenge of error propagation and lack of interaction between different thoughts. In this paper, we propose Neural Network-based Prompting (NetPrompt), a novel network-structured prompting strategy for event extraction. The core idea behind NetPrompt is to imitate the excellent information integration capabilities of neural network structures. Specifically, we first decompose the event extraction problem into diverse intermediate subtasks, and each subtask is represented as a node in different layers of the network, the output of the nodes in the preceding layer is fed into the subsequent layer. Secondly, we propose pruning strategies to adapt the reasoning overhead to different problems. Finally, we have conducted extensive experiments on two widely used event extraction benchmarks to evaluate NetPrompt. The results demonstrated that NetPrompt significantly improved the event extraction performance compared to previous methods. ©2015 IEEE.
