For an integer s ≥ 1, let Cs(q0) be the generalized Zetterberg code of length qs0 + 1 over the finite field Fq0 of odd characteristic. Recently, Shi, Helleseth, and Özbudak (IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory 69(11): 7025-7048, 2023) determined the covering radius of Cs(q0) for (formula presented) (mod 8), and left the remaining case as an open problem. In this paper, we develop a general technique involving arithmetic of finite fields and algebraic curves over finite fields to determine the covering radius of all generalized Zetterberg codes for (formula presented) (mod 8), which therefore solves this open problem. We also introduce the concept of twisted half generalized Zetterberg codes of length (formula presented) , and show the same results hold for them. As a result, we obtain some quasi-perfect codes. An Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm Integrating the Plant Evolutionary Strategy

Differential evolution algorithm (DE) and their variants often encounter a decrease in population diversity and convergence rate along with the evolution, resulting in local optima and premature convergence. To address this issue, this paper proposes an improved differential evolution integrating the plant evolutionary strategy, named DEPES, leveraging the exploitation capability of DE and the exploration capability of the plant population distribution evolutionary strategy. First, a tri-subpopulation optimization framework with a mutation strategy is introduced to cope with diversity maintenance, convergence enhancement, and local optima a Cauchy mutation operator based on plant population distribution evolutionary model is employed to enhance the exploration capability of the mutation strategy. Second, a parameter control strategy is performed on the superior and inferior solutions to balance the exploitation and exploration of the population. Third, a covariance matrix-based crossover strategy is designed to minimize interference from local population information, consequently generating high-quality solutions. The superior efficiency of DEPES is fully verified by comparing it with advanced DE-based variants and other algorithms on the IEEE CEC2020 test suite and engineering design problems. © 2024, The Authors. Bound state in the continuum (BIC) is a dark mode with infinitely high quality factors(Q-factors), it has recently attracted considerable research attention in photonics. Here, we present a metasurface that can support two BICs, which consists of AlGaAs. By breaking the structural symmetry, the two BICs are transformed into quasi-bic modes because they are not protected by the symmetry. Furthermore, it is found that the two quasi-BICs resonate near the fundamental and the second harmonic respectively, which can be used to enhance efficiency of second harmonic generation. By exploiting the high Q characteristics of this structure at both frequencies, we can obtain a second harmonic generation efficiency of nearly 10– 3 with 1GW/cm 2 of pump intensity. Our proposed metasurface will offer good prospects for nonlinear operation.

Current model quantization methods have shown their promising capability in reducing storage space and computation complexity. However, due to the diversity of quantization forms supported by different hardware, one limitation of existing solutions is that usually require repeated optimization for different scenarios. How to construct a model with flexible quantization forms has been less studied. In this paper, we explore a one-shot network quantization regime, named Elastic Quantization Neural Networks (EQ-Net), which aims to train a robust weight-sharing quantization supernet. First of all, we propose an elastic quantization space (including elastic bit-width, granularity, and symmetry) to adapt to various mainstream quantitative forms. Secondly, we propose the Weight Distribution Regularization Loss (WDR-Loss) and Group Progressive Guidance Loss (GPG-Loss) to bridge the inconsistency of the distribution for weights and output logits in the elastic quantization space gap. Lastly, we incorporate genetic algorithms and the proposed Conditional Quantization-Aware Accuracy Predictor (CQAP) as an estimator to quickly search mixed-precision quantized neural networks in supernet. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our EQ-Net is close to or even better than its static counterparts as well as state-of-the-art robust bit-width methods. Study of Robust Direction Finding Based on Joint Sparse Representation

Standard Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation methods are typically derived based on the Gaussian noise assumption, making them highly sensitive to outliers. Therefore, in the presence of impulsive noise, the performance of these methods may significantly deteriorate. In this paper, we model impulsive noise as Gaussian noise mixed with sparse outliers. By exploiting their statistical differences, we propose a novel DOA estimation method based on sparse signal recovery (SSR). Furthermore, to address the issue of grid mismatch, we utilize an alternating optimization approach that relies on the estimated outlier matrix and the on-grid DOA estimates to obtain the off-grid DOA estimates. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits robustness against large outliers. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this letter, a set of circularly polarized (CP) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) cellphone frame antennas for mobile communication applications is proposed. The planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) and monopole antenna operate at frequencies of 3.5 GHz and 5.5 GHz with impedance and axial ratio (AR) bandwidths overlapping at 11.4% (3.3-3.7 GHz) and 7.3% (5.2-5.6 GHz), respectively. To reduce the electromagnetic coupling between the two antennas, the V-shaped mental fence is added and different rectangular metasurface (RMS) arrays are adopted to enhance the CP radiation performances. This design not only covers 5G communication, LTE, and the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. It also provides a communication strategy for future direct satellite communication from cellphones, enhancing efficient switching between satellite and cellular networks. © 2002-2011 IEEE.

With regard to distance measurement in daily life, the traditional way is to measure the distance between objects through rulers. Nowadays, ultrasonic ranging, laser ranging, radar ranging, sonar ranging and other technologies have enriched the way of distance measurement. At the same time, it is possible to choose a suitable solution according to different actual environments. This paper design an intelligent ultrasonic ranging system through the research of ultrasonic characteristics and the application of existing ultrasonic ranging. The paper introduces the design ideas and process of the intelligent ultrasonic ranging system. Through the design of independent buttons, the normal mode ranging and the high-precision mode ranging are generated to achieve the division of the measurement range and accuracy. When the distance between the measured object and the intelligent ultrasonic ranging system is less than the preset value or exceeds the range of this mode, the buzzer will sound an alarm, so that the system can be used in more fields. The system detects the current ambient temperature in real time, so that the distance measurement can be compensated and modified by the temperature compensation algorithm in the system to achieve self-adaptation and reduce measurement errors. © 2022 IEEE.

A hybrid subgrid scheme based on the conventional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) schemes are proposed. The alternating-direction-implicit FDTD (ADI-FDTD) is used to calculate electromagnetic fields in fine grid regions subgrids and the FDTD method is applied to the coarse grid regions. Numerical results demonstrate that the drastically reduced computation time and memory can be achieved by using the proposed 3D hybrid algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

Predicting the remaining useful life (RUL) of bearings is important for the secure running and reducing maintenance costs of rotating machinery. In this article, a novel feature extraction and RUL prediction framework of bearing is proposed by utilizing time-frequency representations (TFRs) and deep neural network with double attention (DA-DNN). Firstly, TFRs are employed to extract the degradation features associated with RUL prediction, which can effectively cope with the non-stationary properties of bearing vibration data. The reduced dimensional TFRs are then used as the DA-DNN model input. Afterwards, DA-DNN is developed by employing the double attention structure to extract the key degradation features more efficiently. The dual-attention structure has ability to capture the degradationrelated features from two aspects of channel attention and spatial attention, which enables the network to focus on high RUL-relevant information. Finally, the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of DA-DNN, which shows higher performance in terms of prediction accuracy compared to other deep learning (DL) methods.
