Highly isolated two-elements ultra-wideband mimo fractal antenna with multi band-notched characteristics

This work presents a high isolation UWB-MIMO antenna with a bandwidth up to 8.6 GHz based on a Minkowski fractal structure. The proposed antenna is fed by microstrip and comprises two orthogonal monopole antennas, which delivers a decent isolation effect. Moreover, the ground is designed as two separated blocks with an I-shaped branch for improving the isolation degree between the units. The resultant isolation degree of this antenna is greater than 25 dB. Besides, the electromagnetic interference in the partial frequency band (such as Wi-Max band (3.45–4.45 GHz), WLAN band (5.1– 5.8 GHz), and X-band (7.25–7.75 GHz)) is further prevented through etching a split-ring resonator (SRR) and C-slot on the unit. The antenna reflection coefficient of the UWB-MIMO antenna at the notch is 3.5 dB, which indicates that the antenna has a conspicuousness anti-interference effect. Through the above judicious design, the proposed UWB-MIMO antenna possesses a relative bandwidth of 113% (up to 8.6 GHz). The envelope correlation coefficient between antenna units is less than 0.005, and the antenna radiation efficiency is up to 80%. In this paper, the stochastic integral equation method (SIEM) is proposed to calculate the electromagnetic scattering from the one-dimensional Gaussian rough surface. In the SIEM, the statistical parameters of the Gaussian rough surface are firstly included in the Green's function. And the new Green's function is used to get the new integral equation. Then the method of moments is applied to solve the new integral equation. The accuracy of the SIEM is shown by comparing with the statistical average of multiple samples through the Monte Carlo method. And, the sample of the Gaussian rough surface is not needed to simulate in the SIEM.

An X-band CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) with flat gain and noise Figure (NF) is proposed in this paper. To achieve sufficient gain, the LNA adopts two-stage topology. A feed-back transformer is used at the input terminal to implement noise and wideband input matching. Transformer-based inter-stage and output matching networks are adopted to achieve well isolation and compact size. By introducing inductive peaking technique, the proposed LNA obtain lower NF and extend the bandwidth. Post simulation results show that the LNA achieves a gain of 14.6± 2dB and NF of 2. 5-3.3dB across a bandwidth from 8.5 GHz to 12.5 GHz. With the supply voltage of 1 V at the first stage and 1.8 V at the second stage, the dc power dissipation is 20.8 mW. The simulated input 1dB compression point ($\mathrm{P}_{\mathrm{l}\mathrm{d}\mathrm{B}}$) is -27.3dBm. The core chip area is only 0.41× 0.87mm 2 .

Coherence-Based Distributed Document Representation Learning for Scientific Documents

Distributed document representation is one of the basic problems in natural language processing. Currently distributed document representation methods mainly consider the context information of words or sentences. These methods do not take into account the coherence of the document as a whole, e.g., a relation between the paper title and abstract, headline and description, or adjacent bodies in the document. The coherence shows whether a document is meaningful, both logically and syntactically, especially in scientific documents (papers or patents, etc.). In this paper, we propose a coupled text pair embedding (CTPE) model to learn the representation of scientific documents, which maintains the coherence of the document with coupled text pairs formed by segmenting the document. First, we divide the document into two parts (e.g., title and abstract, etc) which construct a coupled text pair. Then, we adopt negative sampling to construct uncoupled text pairs whose two parts are from different documents. Finally, we train the model to judge whether the text pair is coupled or uncoupled and use the obtained embedding of coupled text pairs as the embedding of documents. We perform experiments on three datasets for one information retrieval task and two recommendation tasks. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed CTPE model. Multi-Granularity Prosodic Speech Synthesis with Grammar Information

Personalized speech synthesis involves learning an individual's unique speaking patterns from a reference audio to generate speech that mimics the speaker's habitual rhythm. However, the one-to-many mapping between text and speech, combined with the dynamic nature of personalized speech style characteristics in the reference audio, poses significant challenges for accurate personalized speech synthesis. In this paper, we propose a Grammar Infused Multi-granularity Prosody Network (GMG ProsodyNet) for personalized speech synthesis. Specifically, 1) We model prosodic features hierarchically at the levels of utterance, content syntax, word, and phoneme. We utilize the utterance-level prosodic feature to guide the prediction of fine-grained prosodic features according to the hierarchical property of prosodic features. We introduce a context syntax encoder to improve the prediction accuracy of duration, pitch, and energy characteristics in the synthesized audio. The proposed word-level prosodic encoder can efficiently extract valuable pitch dynamic and speech continuity features from the word spectrum. For controlling subtle prosodic nuances, we employ phoneme-level prosodic modeling. 2) We extract syntax level prosodic features from the syntax graph constructed by Graph Neural Network (GNN) with word as node, exploiting grammatical dependencies between distant words. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed GMG ProsodyNet can effectively encode delicate and personalized prosodic features, leading to improved speech synthesis quality, fluency, and naturalness. © 2024, The Authors. A compact dual polarization dipole antenna for the application to 5G base station is investigated, which is composed of radiator, baluns, and metal reflector, having an impendence bandwidth of 23.6% with VSWR<1.5. The dual-polarized antenna has a high ports isolation, high cross-polarization and high gain in operating bandwidth. The results indicate that this work can operate in entire N78 band and provide potential application for 5G base station.

We presents a squared sine functioned adaptive (SSA) algorithm for acoustic-echo-cancellation (AEC) applications in-presence-of impulsive noise. In the development of the SSA algorithm, a novel cost function is constructed by exerting a sliding window type squared sine function on the estimation error vector, which provides robustness in the impulsive-noise environments and speed-ups convergence when the input is colored signals. Theoretical models for predicting the mean-weight-behavior, transient excess-mean-square-error (EMSE) behavior, and tracking behavior are presented. Moreover, the optimal step size and minimum EMSE of the tracking performance are provided. The computation complexity of SSA algorithm has also been investigated. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the theoretical results match well with simulation results and show the superiority of the proposed SSA algorithm against known algorithms in AEC applications. © 2023, CC BY.

Joint relay selection and power allocation protocol for two-way relaying system

The Joint Relay Selection and Power Allocation (JRSPA) for Amplify-and-Forward (AF) relaying (JRSPA-AF) combines Power Allocation (PA) and Relay Selection (RS) very well in Two- Way Relaying (TWR) system. In order to explore the system performance of JRSPA-AF protocol, the outage probability and Diversity-Multiplexing Trade-off (DMT) of JRSPA-AF protocol are analysed. One upper bound, two lower bounds and approximate expressions of outage probability along with the DMT are derived. Based on this, the idea of JRSPA is introduced into Decode-and- Forward (DF) relaying TWR system, and the JRSPA-DF protocol is proposed. Moreover, the exact expressions of outage probability and DMT for JRSPA-DF are derived. Simulations are developed to validate the analytical results, the results show that the approximation outage probability of JRSPA-AF can be used well to evaluate system outage probability over the entire transmission SNR region, and the analysis results of outage probability of JRSPA-DF are consistent with its simulation results. In addition, the simulation results indicate that JRSPA-DF can achieve lower outage probability than JRSPA-AF and other protocols. Copyright © 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Deformable image registration is crucial in medical image analysis. Recently, unsupervised methods using intensity matching have shown promising results without labeled data. However, these methods still face challenges: (1) They often encounter local optima when handling anatomical structures with significant variations in intensity distribution;(2) Time domain convolution in decoders leads to loss of high-frequency fine features, limiting the effectiveness of generating fine deformation vector fields. To address these issues, we propose a novel structure-aware and time-frequency domain interaction (STFI) network. STFI integrates a structure-aware frequency domain loss and a time-frequency domain interaction module. The former leverages principal structural information from the weighted phase spectrum to guide the registration process, thereby reducing the risk of local optima. The latter processes and amalgamates information from both the time and frequency domains, effectively preserving high-frequency details. The efficacy and adaptability of our approach have been demonstrated on two types of data, offering a new perspective on exploiting time-frequency domain information for medical image registration. © 2025, The Authors. A U-shaped-like parasitic strip loading antenna is proposed and designed, which can work in L1 band of GPS with circular polarization (CP) characteristics. The antenna consists of ground plane, dielectric, radiation patch and U-shaped-like parasitic strips using a simple coaxial feed probe. The asymmetric U-shaped-like strips are to realize CP. The simulation and optimization results for the modeled directional CP antenna show that the axial ratio bandwidth is 10MHz and the impedance bandwidth is 30MHz, which can meet the requirements for GPS L1 band.
