In this paper, based on the rectangular iterative technique, we propose an omnidirectional UWB fractal antenna by using microstrip line as feed. The antenna takes regular octagonal shape as patch element. Meanwhile, the iterative fractal and notch technique has been adopted to optimize the UWB antenna performance. After multiple iterations of the configured octagonal patch element, the optimized UWB performance can be obtained. The simulation results reveal that the operating bandwidth of the antenna meets Federal Communications Commission (FCC) broadband standard. Moreover, in order to avoid the electromagnetic interference in the X-band identified by the IEEE 521-2002 standard, we further adopt notch techniques and add the U-shaped gap to the microstrip line to achieve electromagnetic shielding. The impedance matching has been achieved for the antenna by imposing the slot on the ground. After optimizing the slot structure, the reflection of the antenna has reduced in the whole operating frequency band. The overall size of the ultra-wideband fractal antenna was designed to $25 \times 35 mm^{2}$ and was composed of FR-4 material with the relative dielectric constant $\varepsilon_{r} = 4.4$ and loss tangent angle $\tan \theta = 0.02$. After optimization, the antenna has good impedance matching and meets the UWB antenna omnidirectional standard. In 3.1–15.4GHz (excluding X-band), and the reflection coefficient S 11 is lower than -10 dB, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is less than 2, maximum gain reaches 6dB. The results indicated that our proposed fractal antenna is promising for UWB antenna applications.

RGBT tracking receives a surge of interest in the computer vision community, but this research field lacks a large-scale and high-diversity benchmark dataset, which is essential for both the training of deep RGBT trackers and the comprehensive evaluation of RGBT tracking methods. To this end, we present a Large-scale High-diversity benchmark for short-term RGBT tracking (LasHeR) in this work. LasHeR consists of 1224 visible and thermal infrared video pairs with more than 730K frame pairs in total. Each frame pair is spatially aligned and manually annotated with a bounding box, making the dataset well and densely annotated. LasHeR is highly diverse capturing from a broad range of object categories, camera viewpoints, scene complexities and environmental factors across seasons, weathers, day and night. We conduct a comprehensive performance evaluation of 12 RGBT tracking algorithms on the LasHeR dataset and present detailed analysis. In addition, we release the unaligned version of LasHeR to attract the research interest for alignment-free RGBT tracking, which is a more practical task in real-world applications. Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) for feature selection has attracted increasing attention of researchers recently. However, in the existing methods, quick convergence usually degrades the diversity of the population, especially when many irrelevant and redundant features involved in them. To this end, a diversity based competitive multi-objective particle swarm optimization for feature selection problem (named D-CMOPSO) is proposed. In D-CMOPSO, a diversified competition based learning mechanism is proposed to improve the quality of found feature subset, which consists of three parts: exemplar particle construction, pairwise competition, and diversified learning strategy. The proposed competition mechanism utilizes the above three parts to boost the diversity in the following generations. Moreover, in order to guide the initial population to evolve the promising area, a maximal information coefficient based initialization strategy is also suggested. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed D-CMOPSO is competitive for feature selection problem. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

DSPE: An End-to-End Drug Synergy Combination Prediction Algorithm for Echinococcosis

Background: Echinococcosis, a parasitic disease caused by the larvae of the Echinococcus parasite, poses a serious threat to human health. Medication is an indispensable means of treatment for Echinococcosis;however, due to the less satisfactory efficacy of single drugs, identifying effective drug combinations for the treatment of Echinococcosis is essential. Yet, current predictive models for drug synergy in Echinococcosis face accuracy challenges due to data scarcity, method limitations, and insufficient feature representation. Objective: This work aims to design an end-to-end method to predict drug synergistic combinations, which enables efficient and accurate identification of drug combinations against Echinococcosis. Methods: In this work, an end-to-end method, named DSPE, is proposed for predicting anti-Echinococcosis drug synergistic combinations. In DSPE, a dataset of Echinococcosis drug synergistic combinations is constructed by retrieving and extracting information from related scientific articles. Further, DSPE employs a residual graph attention network to deeply analyze drug characteristics and their interactions, thereby enhancing the performance of deep learning models. It also explores the protein-protein interaction network related to Echinococcosis, using node2vec combined with an attention mechanism to efficiently encode disease features. Finally, it predicts the synergy of drug combinations based on the Bliss score by integrating drug combinations and disease features. Results: Experimental evidence shows that DSPE outperforms five state-of-the-art algorithms in predicting drug combination effects by leveraging disease-target information and single-agents for the treatment. Conclusion: DSPE improves prediction accuracy and addresses the issue of data scarcity for new diseases, offering new insights and methods for the development of treatment plans for parasitic diseases in the future. © 2025 Bentham Science Publishers.

We study codes with parameters of q-ary shortened Hamming codes, i.e., (n = (qm − q)/(q − 1), qn−m, 3)q. Firstly, we prove the fact mentioned in 1998 by Brouwer et al. that such codes are optimal, generalizing it to a bound for multifold packings of radius-1 balls, with a corollary for multiple coverings. In particular, we show that the punctured Hamming code is an optimal q-fold packing with minimum distance 2. We explore a notion of bent sequence attached to the data consisting of an Hadamard matrix of order n defined over the complex qth roots of unity, an eigenvalue of that matrix, and a Galois automorphism from the cyclotomic field of order q. In particular we construct self-dual bent sequences for various q ≤ 60 and lengths n ≤ 21. Computational construction methods comprise the resolution of polynomial systems by Groebner bases and eigenspace computations. Infinite families can be constructed from regular Hadamard matrices, Bush-type Hadamard matrices, and generalized Boolean bent functions. As an application, we estimate the covering radius of the code attached to that matrix over Zq. We derive a lower bound on that quantity for the Chinese Euclidean metric when bent sequences exist. We give the Euclidean distance spectrum, and bound above the covering radius of an attached spherical code, depending on its strength as a spherical design. © 2023, CC BY.

In this paper, we propose a holographic capture and projection system of real objectsbased on tunable zoom lenses. Different from the traditional holographic system, aliquid lens-based zoom camera and a digital conical lens are used as key parts to reachthe functions of holographic capture and projection, respectively. The zoom camera isproduced by combing liquid lenses and solid lenses, which has the advantages of fastresponse and light weight. By electrically controlling the curvature of the liquid-liquidsurface, the focal length of the zoom camera can be changed easily. As anothertunable zoom lens, the digital conical lens has a large focal depth and the opticalproperty is perfectly used in the holographic system for adaptive projection, especiallyfor multilayer imaging. By loading the phase of the conical lens on the spatial lightmodulator, the reconstructed image can be projected with large depths. With theproposed system, holographic zoom capture and color reproduction of real objects canbe achieved based on a simple structure. Experimental results verify the feasibility ofthe proposed system. The proposed system is expected to be applied to microprojectionand three-dimensional display technology.

RGB-thermal salient object detection (SOD) aims to segment the common prominent regions of visible image and corresponding thermal infrared image that we call it RGBT SOD. Existing methods don’t fully explore and exploit the potentials of complementarity of different modalities and multi-type cues of image contents, which play a vital role in achieving accurate results. In this paper, we propose a multi-interactive dual-decoder to mine and model the multi-type interactions for accurate RGBT SOD. In specific, we first encode two modalities into multi-level multi-modal feature representations. Then, we design a novel dual-decoder to conduct the interactions of multi-level features, two modalities and global contexts. With these interactions, our method works well in diversely challenging scenarios even in the presence of invalid modality. Finally, we carry out extensive experiments on public RGBT and RGBD SOD datasets, and the results show that the proposed method achieves the outstanding performance against state-of-the-art algorithms.
