The potential use of molecular computation in attacking the Data Encryption Standard (DES) is already known, but the used computing models are not autonomous and require many tedious laboratory steps to execute. In this paper, a description of attacking DES using tile self assembly models in Θ(1) distinct tile types is given theoretically. The computation takes advantage of tiles' autonomy and the characteristic of highly distributed parallel computation. Each assembly configuration yields the ciphertext in linear time with respect to the times of the round function included in DES. The feasibility of finding the main key of DES in tile assembly models has been discussed. Analysis indicates that the tile assembly models might succeed by using a little of DNA under low error rate. © 2011 IEEE.

In today's highly complex multi-AGV systems key research objective is finding a scheduling and routing policy that avoids deadlock while assuring that vehicle utilization is as high as possible. It is well known that finding such an optimal policy is a NP-hard task in general case. Therefore, big part of the research is oriented towards finding various suboptimal policies that can be applied to real world plants. In this paper we propose modified Banker's algorithm for scheduling in multi-AGV systems. A predetermined mission's path is executed in a way that some non-safe states are allowed in order to achieve better utilization of vehicles. A graph-based method of polynomial complexity for verification of these states is given. Algorithm is tested on a layout of a real plant for packing and warehousing palettes. Results shown at the end of the paper demonstrate advantages of the proposed method compared with other methods based on Banker's algorithm.

In this paper, a quadruped robot is studied in bounding motion. A new simplified model of quadruped robot in bounding motion with four actuated and two unactuated joints is developed. The kinetic and potential energies of the under-actuated mechanical model of the quadruped robot are obtained and the dynamics of the robot model is derived using the Lagrangian method. It is shown that the dynamical equation of the proposed simplified model belongs to a class of second-order nonholonomic mechanical systems. The main motivation of this paper is to obtain quadruped model in bounding motion such that one can apply different control methods directly or after transformation in the obtained dynamic equations. Utilizing MATLAB, dynamics of the planar model has been simulated in backward and forward states. Physical parameters of the Little-Dog robot as an instance of the quadruped robot are considered in simulation The simulation is without control and therefore is unstable but it illustrates robot's manner in bounding motion before instability.

A passive image steganalysis method is proposed to universally detect spatial-domain steganography schemes. It is shown to have better performance than universal steganalyzers known to be powerful in spatial domain, including the WFLogSv and the WAM methods. This level of accuracy is the result of improving the WFLogSv steganalyzer by considering a more comprehensive relationship between the singular values of each image block and the linear correlation of the rows and the columns. That is, instead of the closeness of the lower singular values to zero, the energy distribution of the singular values is investigated. An innovative measure is proposed for this investigation, which is inspired from arithmetic mean-geometric mean inequality. Experimental results confirm the supremacy of the proposed steganalysis scheme over its counterparts.

A passive universal image steganalysis method is proposed that is shown to be of higher detection accuracy than existing truly blind steganalysis methods including Farid's and the WAM. This is achieved by improving some weaknesses of Farid's steganalysis scheme in feature extraction, that is, instead of deriving an over-determined equation system for each sub band of the wavelet decomposition, the sub bands are divided into overlapping blocks and an over-determined equation system is constructed for each block. To guarantee the existence of finite answers, the over-determined equation systems are solved in a way different from Farid's by using Moore-Penrose pseudo-inverse concept. Further improvement to the performance is achieved by adding diagonal directions and increasing the number of moments. The comparative evaluations confirm the superiority of the proposed method over prevalent blind steganalysis schemes. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper studies the real-time adaptive and repetitive control problem using the Desired Compensation Learning Law (DCLL) that has the advantage of robustness under the presence of unknown parameters with low memory requirement. The control structure of DCLL consists of a feedforward compensator that is designed by a linear combination of shape functions that is adaptable to parameter variations;hence the selection of appropriate shape functions plays an important role in the adaptive ability and accuracy of DCLL. In this study, the B-spline shape function is proposed to be used under the slowly updating scheme and the obtained results show that the robustness and accuracy of the tracking can be greatly improved even under payload variation and torque limits.

Offline analysis pipelines have been developed and evaluated for the detection of covert attention from electroen-cephalography recordings, and the detection of overt attention in terms of eye movement based on electrooculographic measurements. Some additional analysis were done in order to prepare the pipelines for use in a real-time system. This real-time system and a game application in which these pipelines are to be used were implemented. The game is set in a virtual environment where player is a wildlife photographer on an uninhabited island. Overt attention is used to adjust the angle of the first person camera, when the player is tracking animals. When making a photograph, the animal will flee when it notices it is looked at directly, so covert attention is required to get a good shot. Future work will entail user tests with this system to evaluate usability, user experience, and characteristics of the signals related to overt and covert attention when used in such an immersive environment.

DNA tile self-assembly is a promising paradigm for nanotechnology. Recently, many researches show that computation by DNA tile self-assembly maybe scalable. In this paper, we propose the algorithm for elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman key exchange based on DNA tile self-assembly. First we give the DNA tile self-assembly model to compute the scalar multiplication, then we can successfully implement the Diffie-Hellman key exchange over elliptic curve by extracting the result strand of the scalar multiplication.
