In order to mitigate the adverse impact of denial of service (DoS) attacks, this work designs a parameter self-tuning controller based on fuzzy rules for vehicle platoons with vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications. Aiming at achieving the cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) of the vehicles with a required inter-vehicle distance and the same velocity, while considering the possible DoS attacks, we propose a parameter self-tuning longitudinal controller combining linear control and fuzzy control to enhance the stability and resilience of the platoon systems. Firstly, by analyzing the dynamic characteristics of vehicles and the mechanism of DoS attacks, we establish the dynamic model of vehicle platoons and model the impact of random DoS attacks as a constant data transmission delay, whose probability distribution can be defined using the Bernoulli random variable. Then, a linear controller based on fuzzy control is designed for longitudinal control to guarantee that the platoon keeps a reference velocity and the specified inter-vehicle distance under DoS attacks. Finally, thorough simulations are performed and the detailed results show the performance of the secure longitudinal control scheme for vehicle platoons in terms of stability and security. © 2023 IEEE.

Robust H∞ Output Feedback Trajectory Tracking control for Steer-by-Wire Four-Wheel Independent Actuated Electric Vehicles

This paper investigates the trajectory tracking control issue of four-wheel independently actuated electric vehicles (FWIA EVs) with steer-by-wire devices concerning parameter uncertainties, external disturbances, input saturation, and vehicle sideslip angle not easily obtained. A robust (Formula presented.) dynamic output feedback control strategy is proposed for the integrated control of the steering motor current and direct yaw moment without using sideslip angle information to ensure the reference trajectory tracking and the improvement of handling performance and yaw stability. In the proposed integration control framework, the steer-by-wire device dynamic is involved in the polyhedral linear parameter-varying (LPV) trajectory tracking error model considering the time-varying longitudinal velocity, and the norm-bounded parameter uncertainties such as road adhesion coefficient, tire cornering stiffness, vehicle mass, and vehicle moment of inertia. With the help of the LPV model of all the states of the steer-by-wire FWIA EV, a dynamic output feedback trajectory tracking controller is designed using the robust (Formula presented.) technique. The controller gain matrices are obtained by solving the linear matrix inequalities. Finally, the high-fidelity full-vehicle model based on the CarSim-MATLAB/Simulink joint simulation platform verifies the robustness and advantages of the designed control strategy in the accelerated lane-change scenario. © 2023 by the authors.

Multiple types of sensors are utilized for remote monitoring of single industrial process to compensate for the limited accuracy of a single type of sensor. Network slicing technology is considered promising for collecting data from heterogeneous sensors and meeting diverse Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. However, existing research on network slicing optimization mainly focuses on inter-slice resource constraints based on slice heterogeneity, neglecting slice coupling feature. In this regard, this paper proposes a novel network slicing framework for edge-assisted industrial IoT systems. The framework includes a slice coupling model and network resource allocation (transmission and computing) to address the problem of improving estimation performance while ensuring system convergence. The slice coupling model is primarily composed of the estimation error covariance of two slices, calculated using the Age of Task (AoT) as a bridge, which reflects the accuracy and freshness of the estimation. To reduce the complexity of the direct solution, the optimization problem is scaled down and decoupled. The iterative Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to determine the allocation rates of inter-slice transmission and computing resources. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves a flexible balance under heterogeneous estimation weights and exhibits near-optimal performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a non-contact method for measuring heart rate (HR) through facial video, breaking the constraints of contact measurements and offering broad application prospects. However, in real monitoring scenarios, the distance of subjects and facial illumination often vary. This leads to degradation of rPPG signals due to changes in facial resolution and light intensity. This paper presents the High and Low Frequency Feature Adversarial Learning Network (HLFF-AL), which utilizes feature space interpolation and composite feature capture to perform multi-band global and local signal extraction. By adopting an adversarial learning strategy, it enhances the capability to capture semantic information of rPPG under varying resolutions and lighting, bridging the differences in rPPG signal generation due to resolution changes. While maintaining accuracy in HR measuring, the robustness of the network is improved to achieve robust measurement of HR via rPPG. Even under high-resolution conditions, the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) for the three public datasets - unchanging lighting (COHFACE, UBFC-rPPG) and varying lighting (BUAA-MIHR) - reached 1.10 bpm, 1.64 bpm, and 4.41 bpm, respectively, with a mere 0.29 bpm difference in MAE between high and low resolutions on the BUAA-MIHR dataset. This demonstrates that HLFF-AL can predict more robust rPPG signals in various resolutions and lighting scenarios, achieving competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

As the demand for reliable power supply in power systems grows, ensuring the performance of circuit breaker operating mechanisms is crucial. This performance is pivotal to the stability of the power grid, the speed of fault recovery, and the equipment's lifespan. In this paper, we introduce a structural optimization plan for a new magnetic control operating mechanism designed for 10kV circuit breakers. Employing three-dimensional and mathematical modeling, complemented by finite element analysis with Maxwell software, we delved into an in-depth study of the mechanism's structure, performance, and materials. We further conducted a parametric design and comparative analysis of key components. The simulation results, which exclude the spring load, demonstrate that the optimized circuit breaker can achieve a closing velocity of 3.07 m/s, an electromagnetic force peaking at 2.7 kN, and a closure time minimized to 8.5 ms. These enhancements notably improve the mechanism's closing efficiency. Consequently, our research introduces a novel perspective to the field of reliability studies for magnetic control operating mechanisms. © 2024 IEEE.

This study aims to explore the reform of mechanical drawing teaching and the undergraduate training model with the goal of cultivating high-quality mechanical engineering undergraduate students. Grounded in the concepts of 'synergy between science and education' and 'integration of competition-oriented education and industry-university collaboration,' this research places talent cultivation as the central focus, linking it with discipline construction and emphasizing scientific research. The study promotes the reform of a collaborative education mechanism known as 'integration of competition-oriented education and industry-university collaboration,' effectively establishing a multi-level and multi-dimensional undergraduate training model for mechanical engineering students that incorporates the 'dual mentor system' and integrates theory, practice, and application. To apply this model in teaching practice, this research has undertaken the reform of traditional engineering drawing education, specifically addressing the issue of the gap between theory and practice in conventional teaching approaches. The proposed training program not only facilitates the development of innovative mechanical engineering professionals but also offers insights for the reform of undergraduate teaching models in the context of constructing 'new engineering disciplines'. © 2024 IEEE.

Cloud detection can address data quality and analytical accuracy issues caused by cloud cover in satellite imagery, significantly enhancing image usability. Existing cloud detection methods still have the problem of detecting a certain amount of ground and sea surface as clouds, as well as some cloud regions that are missed, resulting in a decrease in the accuracy of cloud detection. Aiming at the above problems, an interactive cloud detection method based on Dynamic Mode Decomposition is proposed. Based on the fact that clouds are constantly moving, the dynamic mode decomposition can be utilized to detect the characteristics of moving objects, and the dynamic clouds are detected, avoiding the detection of the ground and sea surface as clouds. Although static clouds rarely appear, to ensure the robustness of the algorithm, we design an interactive static cloud detection algorithm for the users, which solve the problem of missed detection and further improves the accuracy of cloud detection. To assess the effectiveness of the algorithm, the four different types of clouds of floccus, undulatus, vortex clouds, and stratocumulus are detected, the experimental outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the algorithm. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Dunhuang mural images classification belongs to the research task in the field of image recognition. In this paper, the semi-supervised model is established with multidimensional features extracted by transfer learning. A small number of labeled samples were used to obtain a large number of unlabeled data, combined with Active Learning and iterative strategy for multiple rounds of label transfer of selected samples. After several rounds of iterations, we can get a more powerful classification learner. Experiments on the self-built Dunhuang mural dataset have shown that the results can approach or even exceed some supervised learning methods when the number of known label samples is less than 4%. Our research implements the cultural resource image classification algorithm based on small samples, which is conductive to improving the accuracy when label samples are scarce. © 2023 IEEE.

Liquid metal-based microchannel heat sinks (MCHSs) suffer from the low heat capacity of coolant, resulting in an excessive temperature rise of coolant and heat sink when dealing with high-power heat dissipation. In this paper, it was found that expanded space at the top of fins could distribute the heat inside microchannels, reducing the temperature rise of coolant and heat sink. The orthogonal experiments revealed that expanding the top space of channels yielded similar temperature reductions to changing the channel width. The flow and thermal modeling of expanded microchannel heat sink (E-MCHS) were analyzed by both using the 3-dimensional (3D) numerical simulation and the 1-dimensional (1D) thermal resistance model. The fin efficiency of E-MCHS was derived to improve the accuracy of the 1D thermal resistance model. The heat conduction of liquid metal in Z direction and the heat convection between the top surface of fins and the liquid metal could reduce the total thermal resistance (Rt). The above process was effective for microchannels with low channel aspect ratio, low mean velocity (Um) or long heat sink length. The maximum thermal resistance reduction in the example of this paper reached 36.0%. The expanded space endowed the heat sink with lower pressure, which might further reduce the pumping power (P). This rule was feasible both when fins were truncated (h_(2) < 0, h_(2) is the height of expanded channel for E-MCHS) and when over plate was raised (h_(2) > 0).
