Carbon emission reduction enabled by informatization construction: an analysis of spatial effects based on China’s experience

The "dual-carbon" objective presents a huge challenge for China and the world, with profound implications for the advancement of China’s eco-friendly economy. Additionally, informatization development has a significant impact on the level of carbon emissions in both local and neighbouring regions. Therefore, we employ panel data from 30 provinces in China spanning the years 2012 to 2021, and use the Kernel density estimate and Moran’s index to explore informatization level and carbon emissions space agglomeration characteristics. We elucidate the nonlinear relationship and heterogeneity between informatization improvement and carbon emissions based on the spatial Durbin model. The primary findings are as follows. Firstly, we discover a distinct spatial clustering phenomenon which the informatization level is high in coastal areas and low in inland areas, whereas carbon emissions are low in the south and high in the north. Secondly, the effect of the informatization level on carbon emissions is shown as a U-shaped and non-linear correlation, signifying inhibitory and subsequently promoting phases. Thirdly, we reveal the negative influence on carbon emissions caused by spatial lag terms of the informatization level, and find that a higher local informatization level will have an inhibitory effect on carbon emissions in neighbouring areas. Finally, there is a spatial heterogeneity in the impact of the informatization level on carbon emissions, which presents the U-shaped relation between informatization level and carbon emissions varies across the North-South subregion and the three major economic subregion of China. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Anomaly detection refers to the identification of data objects that deviate from the general data distribution. One of the important challenges in anomaly detection is handling high-dimensional data, especially when it contains a large number of redundant attributes. Although traditional Isolation Forest (iForest) and Extended Isolation Forest (EIF) have performed well in anomaly detection, the detection accuracy is still extremely influenced by redundant attributes. In this paper, we propose a two-tier architecture named RS-EIF, to alleviate the negative impact of redundant attributes. Specifically, the RS-EIF combines the rough set theory and EIF algorithm and provides an effective basis for the EIF-based anomaly detection method by removing redundant attributes with rough set theory. Experimental results show that the RS-EIF algorithm performs better than the iForest and EIF algorithms in terms of anomaly detection rate, and the results of the combination of rough set theory and EIF are more prominent compared to the other combination methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Encrypted network traffic classification is an essential task in modern communications, which is used in a wide range of applications, such as network resource allocation, QoS (Quality of Service), malicious detection, etc. With the continuous evolution of network technology, approaches used to classify network encrypted traffic have become increasingly complex, and model training relies heavily on a large amount of labeled data. However, the acquisition of correct and massive labeled data of network traffic in the real environment remains a major challenge in this field. On the opposite, unlabeled traffic is extremely easy to obtain in a network. Therefore, the effective use of unlabeled data is of great significance to the development of modern communications. In this paper, we propose the Sauce model, which can effectively use unlabeled information to obtain high-quality clustering space. It is composed of Aux (auxiliary network) and AE (auto encoder), where Aux is designed for collaborative training with AE, affecting the distribution of samples in the latent space generated by AE. Sauce uses t-SNE (t- distributed stochastic neighbor embedding) to perform secondary dimensionality reduction on the latent code, and then uses a clustering algorithm for cluster analysis. Besides, sauce applies the self-training technique, replacing the real labeled data with pseudo-labeled data to reduce the reliance on labeled data and improve the utilization of unannotated data. We conduct experiments on two real network datasets. The experiments show that Sauce can achieve clustering accuracies of 98.4% (VPN dataset) and 98.0% (TOR dataset), outperforming other unsupervised or semi-supervised learning methods. © 2022 IEEE.

Model-based offline reinforcement learning (RL), which builds a supervised transition model with logging dataset to avoid costly interactions with the online environment, has been a promising approach for offline policy optimization. As the discrepancy between the logging data and online environment may result in a distributional shift problem, many prior works have studied how to build robust transition models conservatively and estimate the model uncertainty accurately. However, the over-conservatism can limit the exploration of the agent, and the uncertainty estimates may be unreliable. In this work, we propose a novel Model-based Offline policy optimization framework with Adversarial Network (MOAN). The key idea is to use adversarial learning to build a transition model with better generalization, where an adversary is introduced to distinguish between in-distribution and out-of-distribution samples. Moreover, the adversary can naturally provide a quantification of the model's uncertainty with theoretical guarantees. Extensive experiments showed that our approach outperforms existing state-of-the-art baselines on widely studied offline RL benchmarks. It can also generate diverse in-distribution samples, and quantify the uncertainty more accurately. © 2023 The Authors.

In the application of RRT (Rapidly-exploring Random Trees) algorithm in obstacle avoidance path planning of redundant robot arms in high-dimensional space, the sampling area of random sampling points is large, the search time is long, the path twists and turns, and the redundant points are too many. In this paper, an efficient sampling RRT algorithm with adaptive step size and fast automatic convergence is proposed. Firstly, by adding the optimized gravity function, the step size of the extended tree is changed adaptively and the convergence is stronger. Secondly, the limited sampling of parent node area expansion is proposed to avoid useless point sampling and repeated point sampling, so that the utilization of sampling points is greatly improved. Finally, by changing the way of parent node reconnection and re-selection, the path tortuous degree is lower, the path planning cost and redundancy points are reduced, and MATLAB software is used to carry out the path planning simulation experiment. By comparing RRT, gravitational field RTT and RRT∗ algorithm, the improved RRT algorithm has significantly improved in distance, time and number of nodes. It has important engineering application value. © 2023 IEEE.

Disk failure is one of the most important reliability problems in large-scale network storage systems. Disk failure may lead to serious data loss and even disastrous consequences if the missing data cannot be recovered. Therefore, predicting disk failures is an important means of ensuring storage security in network storage systems. However, since the fault data in the fast degradation stage is smaller than the healthy data in the normal state, the mixture of healthy data and faulty data leads to extremely unbalanced data, which brings great challenges to finding hidden fault information, thus making fault prediction more accurate. Aiming at the above problems, a convolutional transformer model ConvTrans-TPS model for disk failure prediction in large-scale network storage systems is proposed. The ConvTrans-TPS model acquires dependencies between long-term sequence data through transformers and uses convolutional projections for attention computation to enhance attention to local contextual information. data augmentation to predict failures in the next 7 days. Validated by the analysis on the Backblaze dataset, the F1 is 0.96 and the Matthews correlation coefficient (MCC) is 0.92. Compared with the popular CNN-LSTM model in recent years, our proposed method improves F1 and MCC by 4% and 5%, respectively, improving the prediction accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

In a multi-cloud storage system, provenance data records all operations and ownership during its lifecycle, which is critical for data security and audibility. However, recording provenance data also poses some challenging security and storage issues. In this paper, we present a secure and efficient multi-cloud storage data source scheme, BMDP. We use blockchain technology to ensure the secure storage of provenance data and design a smart contract to utilize the provenance data to ensure the proper operation of the multi-cloud storage system. Finally, we analyze the scheme's safety and do simulation experiments to show that the scheme has practicality. © 2023 IEEE.

Visual Question Answering is a very challenging tasks in the fiield of AI. The existing model is not accurate enough to judge the relationship between problem words, image objects and the association between problem and image objects, meanwhile, the interpretability of the model needs to be improved. In response, this paper proposes a visual question answering model based on relationship graph and co-attention. Relational features can be obtained by constructing a relational graph using the relationships between the problem and the image, and between the objects of the image, and by dynamically updating the relational graph using a graph attention network guided by the problem. Then, the obtained features are fused using co- attention to obtain richer ***, these features are used to make answer prediction. The model is experimented on the VQA2.0 dataset, and the experimental results show that the model improved the accuracy of the visual question answering model to some extent compared with the existing models.

Cloud storage services have been used by most businesses and individual users. However, data loss, service interruptions and cyber attacks often lead to cloud storage services not being provided properly, and these incidents have caused financial losses to users. Second, traditional and single-cloud model disaster recovery services are no longer suitable for the current complex cloud storage systems. Therefore, a scheme to provide disaster recovery for cloud storage services in a multi-cloud storage environment is needed in real production. In this paper, we propose a disaster recovery scheme based on blockchain technology. The proposed scheme outlined in this study aims to address the issue of data availability within the cloud storage landscape. The proposed scheme achieves this goal by dividing data into hot and cold categories, verifying the integrity of copy data via blockchain technology, and utilizing blockchain networks to manage multi-cloud storage systems. Experimental findings demonstrate that the proposed scheme yields superior results in terms of computation and time overheads. © 2023 IEEE.

Time-varying and seasonal parameter inversion in the mathematical model of infectious diseases and uncertainty quantization based on actual data have great significance for real quantitative transmission process. In this study, the behavior-driven mathematical model of infectious diseases and the data-driven parameter identification method are combined to quantify the transmission law of tuberculosis (TB). To begin with, according to the characteristics of TB transmission, the TS-SID model with time-varying is established. Then, the improved identification algorithm is proposed to track the fluctuation of disease infection rate and mortality rate considering the seasonal influence. Meanwhile, focusing on the influence of noise on the spread of diseases, noise reduction and uncertain quantization are carried out on the data to identify the noise distribution. In addition, predict the denoised sequence and superimpose the noise distribution, which can improve the rationality of prediction. Finally, the numerical comparison shows that seasonal time-varying tracking is good for grasping and predicting the disease evolution.
