In this study, we investigate the break index labeling problem with a syntactic-to-prosodic structure conversion. The statistical relationship between the mapped syntactic tree structure and prosodic tree structure of sentences in the training set is used to generate a Synchronous Tree Substitution Grammar (STSG) which can describe the probabilistic mapping (substitution) rules between them. For a given test sentence and the corresponding parsed syntactic tree structure, thus generated STSG can convert the syntactic tree to a prosodic tree statistically. We compare the labeling results with other approaches and show the probabilistic mapping can indeed benefit break index labeling performance.

To investigate the influences of performance management rules on human behavior in a chemical plant workshop, we construct an artificial workshop. It mainly contains human behavior model, workshop environment model including the definition of work position performance management rules and production events, and their interaction rules. The human behavior model is built based on DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Compliance) behavior model and the Agent technology. A platform for workshop human behavior computing is finally created for computational experiments on performance management and decision-making. The platform can be used as a support for refined management in the chemical plant. © 2012 IEEE.

With the fast development of Internet and its data scale, B2B (Business to Business), whose speed and high availability advantage is based on Internet, is eroding more and more market share of traditional business. In recent years, the new data processing technologies, such as cloud computing, assure the enhancement of computer's computing capacity;it has become possible for researchers to process and analyze the massive business data, including large scale customer data, and large scale commodity information. A new B2B platform frame, based on cloud computing with less running time and better response efficiency, is proposed here to promote transaction handle efficiency. By adoption of complex network theory and cloud computing technology, the new platform has been evaluated to decrease transaction handle time, and make more benefits. © 2012 IEEE.

The integration of post-wimp computer interfaces arises as an alternative to meet the individual limitations of each modality, considering both interaction components and the feedbacks to users. Tangible interfaces can present restrictions referring to physical space on tabletop architectures, which limits the manipulation of objects and deprecates the interactive process. Hence, this paper proposes the integration of techniques of mobile Augmented Reality with tabletop tangible architecture for blending real and virtual components on its surface, aiming to make the interactive process richer, seamless and more complete. © 2012 IEEE.

Fluorescence has become a widely used technique for applications in noninvasive diagnostic tissue spectroscopy. The standard model used for characterizing fluorescence photon transport in biological tissue is based on the diffusion approximation. On the premise that the total energy of excitation and fluorescent photon flows must be conserved, we derive the widely used diffusion equations in fluorescence spectroscopy and show that there must be an additional term to account for the transport of fluorescent photons. The significance of this additional term in modeling fluorescence spectroscopy in biological tissue is assessed.

With the fast development of Internet and data volume increase in Internet, Internet is playing more important role in information spreading in recent years. It is reported that social network is a typical complex network expressed with scale free degree. Emergency cases are happening more and more often in China and all over the world, the governments has realized that it is necessary to monitor and manage the information spreading on social network. In this paper, a new experiment platform frame, which is based on SPA (Spreading Activation) model and social centrality, is proposed to validate the information spreading speed in social network, to help the administration department to manage social network more efficiently. © 2012 IEEE.

To further enhance emergency management skills of an organisation's emergency response personnel, emergency response training, especially 3D emergency drill, is currently becoming more and more important in the petrochemical sector. So, a novel 3D emergency drills system is designed and developed based on ACP approach, which can be used for mocking emergency response plan drills and evaluating the plan. A case study reveals that the performance of the system is good and the system can meet the needs of emergency response training and optimizing emergency response plan in petrochemical plants.

This paper concentrates on the evaluation system of hot topics in the online news about the emergency events. First, the overall technology framework of the system was established and description was formulated on the key issues need to be resolved prior to the evaluation of the hot topics. Focusing on the vector representation of the news documents and clustering algorithm of the news topics, a modified TF-IDF text representation model was formulated and an improved selection method of initial topic clustering center was established. The evaluation model of the hot topics was then established to evaluate the heat value of the clustered topics based on extracting websites feature parameters, such as the time properties of the news reports, reporting properties, and user attention. Finally, the paper takes news of 2011 Japan Earthquake as data source for algorism and model evaluation. The results showed that the identification and evaluation system of hot topics in online news about the emergency events was valid, and the evaluation result of hot topics by the systems agreed with the expected results. It lays a foundation for the subsequent studying about the tracking and evolution of the hot topics.

Cloud computing has dramatically reshaped the whole IT industry in recent years. With the transition from IPv4 to IPv6, services running in Cloud computing will face problems associated with IPv6 addressing: the notation is too long (39 bytes), there are too many variants of a single IPv6 address and a potential conflict may exist with conventional http-URL notation caused by the use of the colon (:). This paper proposes a new scheme to represent an IPv6 address with a shorter, compact notation (27 bytes), without variants or conflicts with http-URL. The proposal is known as dot-base62x as it is an IPv6 address with Base62x and uses the well-known period (or dot) as a group delimiter instead of the colon. The relative merits and demerits of other works that predate this paper have been reviewed and critically evaluated. Cloud computing, as a continuously emerging mainstream of network-based applications, is likely to be a forerunner in the use of IPv6 as the base protocol. As a result, Cloud computing will benefit most from the new, compact and user-friendly textual representation of IPv6 address proposed by this paper. © 2011 IEEE.
