Existing evaluations of tool learning primarily focus on validating the alignment of selected tools (e.g., various APIs) for large language models (LLMs) with expected outcomes. However, these approaches rely on a limited set of scenarios where answers can be pre-determined. Furthermore, a sole emphasis on outcomes disregards the complex capabilities required for LLMs to effectively use tools. To tackle this issue, we propose ToolEyes, a fine-grained system tailored for the evaluation of the LLMs' tool learning capabilities in authentic scenarios. The system meticulously examines seven real-world scenarios, analyzing five dimensions crucial to LLMs in tool learning: format alignment, intent comprehension, behavior planning, tool selection, and answer organization. Additionally, ToolEyes incorporates a tool library boasting approximately 600 tools, serving as an intermediary between LLMs and the physical world. Evaluations involving ten LLMs across three categories reveal a preference for specific scenarios and limited cognitive abilities in tool learning. Intriguingly, expanding the model size even exacerbates the hindrance to tool learning. In the field of autonomous driving, 3D target detection is an important technology. In view of the shortcomings of existing monocular 3D detection algorithms in terms of accuracy and real-time performance, we propose a lightweight 3D target detection algorithm based on the attention mechanism. In order to ensure the real-time performance of the model, we use depthwise separable convolutions in the backbone network. The feature maps of each scale are then connected to an EMA module, which can fuse spatial attention and cross-dimensional Coordinate attention is used to enhance the feature extraction capability of the network, and BiFPN is subsequently used for multi-scale feature fusion. Finally, experiments were conducted on the KITTI dataset, and the results showed that our algorithm was superior to other methods in both accuracy and speed. © 2024 IEEE.

Number Theoretic Transform (NTT) has been widely used in accelerating computations in lattice-based cryptography. However, attackers can potentially launch power analysis targeting the NTT because it is one of the most time-consuming parts of the implementation. This extended time frame provides a natural window of opportunity for attackers. In this paper, we investigate the first CPU frequency leakage (Hertzbleed-like) attacks against NTT in lattice-based KEMs. Our key observation is that different inputs to NTT incur different Hamming weights in its output and intermediate layers. By measuring the CPU frequency during the execution of NTT, we propose a simple yet effective attack idea to find the input to NTT that triggers NTT processing data with significantly low Hamming weight. We further apply our attack idea to real-world applications that are built upon NTT: CPA-secure Kyber without Compression and Decompression functions, and CCA-secure NTTRU. This leads us to extract information or frequency hints about the secret key. Integrating these hints into the LWE-estimator framework, we estimate a minimum of 35% security loss caused by the leakage. The frequency and timing measurements on the Reference and AVX2 implementations of NTT in both Kyber and NTTRU align well with our theoretical analysis, confirming the existence of frequency side-channel leakage in NTT. It is important to emphasize that our observation is not limited to a specific implementation but rather the algorithm on which NTT is based. Therefore, our results call for more attention to the analysis of power leakage against NTT in lattice-based cryptography. © 2024, Ruhr-University of Bochum. All rights reserved.

Genetic algorithms have been widely used in intelligent test paper generation systems. However, traditional genetic algorithms cannot ensure that the difficulty of test questions is normally distributed, and are prone to falling into local optimal solutions. To address the above problems, we proposed an intelligent test paper generation algorithm that combines normal distribution and parallel genetic algorithms. In the population initialization stage, we use the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the normal distribution to initialize the population. In the subsequent genetic operations, we designed a directed mutation mechanism and added KL divergence as a penalty number in the design of the fitness function to ensure that the difficulty of the test questions is normally distributed. At the same time, in order to speed up the efficiency of the algorithm and escape from the local optimal solution, an adaptive migration strategy was introduced. Experimental results show that the difficulty of the test questions generated by this algorithm is normally distributed, and the algorithm performance is better than other algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

Short textual similarity has been more and more widely used in the field of natural language processing. However, people tend to pay more attention to the semantic similarity of sentences and ignore the word order similarity in sentences. For this reason, we propose a short text similarity computation model that fuses semantics and word order. In terms of semantics, we propose a adjacency-aware similarity model based on deep convolutional neural networks, which effectively exploits the adjacency relationship in sentences and extracts text features from multiple perspectives for similarity prediction. In terms of word order, a word order model incorporating an external knowledge base is proposed, which uses an external knowledge base with pointwise mutual information to construct word order dense vectors to assess word order similarity. Ultimately, we propose a comprehensive assessment model for short text similarity that incorporates semantic and word order information. We conducted experiments on the public dataset MRPC, and the experimental results show that our model outperforms existing models in terms of performance. © 2024 IEEE.

In response to growing environmental concerns and the necessity for sustainable development, this paper explores the integration of renewable energy technology with advanced agricultural practices. We present the design and implementation of a low energy consumption data logger for a nano-grid tailored to a solar-powered smart greenhouse. This system embodies the convergence of sustainability and technology, enhancing both energy management and agricultural productivity. Utilizing a standalone photovoltaic (PV) system, the smart greenhouse operates self-sufficiently, reducing its carbon footprint. The nano-grid, comprising PV panels, battery storage, and load management, ensures year-round renewable energy supply. The data logger monitors environmental parameters within the greenhouse, as well as metrics from the PV system, and its low energy design minimizes power consumption, maintaining overall system efficiency. The deployment of a wireless sensor network within the greenhouse further enhances scalability and real-Time monitoring capabilities, directly impacting crop quality and yield. This paper details the system architecture, addresses integration challenges, and evaluates the data logger's performance, contributing valuable insights to the field of sustainable agricultural practices through renewable energy integration. © 2024 IEEE.

With the prevalence of various intelligent educational systems, it is imperative to uncover learners' proficiency in mastering knowledge points through their prior practice circumstances. Knowledge tracking is an extremely beneficial instrument in this regard. Among them, Convolutional Knowledge Tracking (CKT) has demonstrated excellent performance in numerous KT tasks, while it does not take into account the phenomenon of forgetting and the interconnection between knowledge points. In order to tackle these problems, we propose a model called FGE-CKT, which integrates forgetting behavior and graph embedding with CKT. Our model addresses the drawbacks of forgetting characteristics by modelling three key factors affecting students' forgetting behaviors through a fully connected neural net: repeated knowledge learning times, adjacent learning interval and interval between visits to repeat knowledge. At the same time, convolutional neural networks are used to simultaneously extract and incorporate connections between knowledge points into the model's input portion. It was confirmed by experiments on two well-established datasets that FGE-CKT achieved significant improvements in AUC performance. © 2024 IEEE.

For purpose of the electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protection research, a double-layer barrier of cylindrical plasma array was designed, and its protective performance to 6GHz high-power microwave (HPM) was conducted experimentally. Combining the distribution of the discharge plasma array, the shielding effectiveness of the double-layer plasma on 6GHz HPM pulse was studied. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows: The transmission energy of HPM decreased as the increase of plasma electron density, indicating an improved protection effect, with both double-layer and single-layer plasma array. Besides, the results showed that the transmission attenuation of HPM in double-layer structure was greater than that in single-layer structure because of the interlayer reflection. In addition, an interesting phenomenon was discovered during the experiment, which was that the boundary plasma units had a significant impact on the HPM transmission. The shielding effect of HPM was better with opening seven plasma units than that with opening whole plasma array. Finally, the spectral characteristics and transmission coefficients of the HPM were presented by Fourier transform, and the results of the protective performance were consistent with the above-mentioned time-domain analysis.
