Acquiring real-time spectral information in point-of-care diagnosis,internet-of-thing,and other lab-on-chip applications require spectrometers with hetero-integration capability and miniaturized *** to conventional semiconductors integrated by heteroepitaxy,solution-processable semiconductors provide a much-flexible integration platform due to their solution-processability,and,therefore,more suitable for the multi-material integrated ***,solution-processable semiconductors are usually incompatible with the micro-fabrication *** work proposes a facile and universal platform to fabricate integrated spectrometers with semiconductor substitutability by unprecedently involving the conjugated mode of the bound states in the continuum(conjugated-BIC)***,exploiting the conjugated-BIC photonics,which remains unexplored in conventional lasing studies,renders the broadband photodiodes with ultra-narrowband detection ability,detection wavelength tunability,and on-chip integration ability while ensuring the device *** based on these ultra-narrowband photodiode arrays exhibit high spectral resolution and wide/tunable spectral *** fabrication processes are compatible with solution-processable semiconductors photodiodes like perovskites and quantum dots,which can be potentially extended to conventional *** from the spectrometers directly constitute the incident spectra without being computation-intensive,latency-sensitive,and *** an example,the integrated spectrometers based on perovskite photodiodes are capable of realizing narrowband/broadband light reconstruction and in-situ hyperspectral imaging.

A compact circularly polarized (CP) substrate-based antenna for mobile satellite service (MSS) is presented. The substrate has a metal ground fully covering its bottom, and an L-shaped shorted strip is loaded on its top. The shorting pin, close to the feeding probe, significantly helps reduce the antenna size. Moreover, the top strip is bent into an L shape to obtain good CP fields in the far field. Within a space of 0.15 λ0 × 0.1 λ0 × 0.03 λ0, the proposed antenna exhibits a -4-dB gain bandwidth of 21 MHz(1510-1531 MHz), which can fully accommodate the 7-MHz L-band MSS requirements. © 2024 IEEE.

Social media is a platform for people to share their lives and interact with others. Image sharing is an integral component. Privacy information will inevitably be compromised during the process of sharing whole photos. Sometimes, it is not even caused by the person who shares the image but the third party who forwards the image. In the majority of cases, we do not attempt to protect the entirety of the media;rather, we seek to protect the most crucial portion, whether it is the background or specific objects, which decreasing superfluous cryptography procedures. Unfortunately, current research on such field is extremely rare. In this research, we established a novel pixel-level image encryption technique relying on Panoptic FCN panoramic segmentation and chaos for client-intended images on social media sites. Our suggested technology is capable of automated picture encryption on either the whole images or user-selected areas, whether they are rectangular or irregular, which is suited for all region of interest (ROI) encryption. Relying on a novel coupled chaotic map, this universal new encryption method flattens the array of the image ROI into a series of pixels. The module of Panoptic FCN can be replaced by any other panoptic segmentation models which are stronger in performance. Statistical and cryptographic evaluations demonstrate that our technique preserves the high efficiency for practical applications. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Current research in computation offloading encompasses various aspects, including task partitioning and allocation, resource management, communication, and data management. This paper focuses on developing new algorithms and techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the offloading process while addressing challenges arising from dynamic and heterogeneous mobile environments. Researchers are also examining the trade-off between offloading benefits like improved performance and energy efficiency, and the associated overhead costs such as communication and data management. This paper proposes an optimization strategy for computational offloading to enhance the Grey Wolf algorithm. The solution aims to quickly optimize system energy consumption while considering the arithmetic power constraint of the mobile edge computing server and time delay constraints. Simulation experiments demonstrate that the algorithm in this paper significantly outperforms the traditional Grey Wolf and PSO algorithms in terms of both performance and computational speed. ©2023 IEEE.

With the continuous improvement of various high-performance computing systems, various data centers had also been fully expanded. Energy consumption and actual performance measurement were very important indicators, which were also key issues in how to judge parallel calls for some tasks in high-performance computer systems. Modern processors were basically equipped with software control functions such as DVFS (Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling), in the actual system operation to ensure that the system could ensure the reasonable operation of the system while reducing energy consumption indicators. This paper considered how the designed scheduling algorithm first divides tasks reasonably to ensure that the maximum completion time and energy consumption of the processor were sufficiently reduced when the directed acyclic graph was executed. Then considered making reasonable adjustments to the processor frequency using DVFS technology to adapt to the task while ensuring the critical path of the task. At the end of the article, make sure that the experimental verification algorithm could ensure that the task was completed and could reduce the energy consumption during task execution as much as possible. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Seeking a Sense of Meaning and Companionship in Life: Informal Learning on Douyin Among Chinese Older Adults

This study examines how Chinese older adults leverage Douyin, a short video platform, for informal learning purposes, analyzing their usage patterns, motivations, and encountered challenges. Although Douyin was not explicitly designed with educational features, it has emerged as a significant informal learning platform for this demographic. Through a qualitative investigation comprising participant observations and semi-structured interviews with 17 participants, we reveal the distinctive learning experience that Douyin facilitates. The platform’s unique combination of short-form videos, live streaming capabilities, and interactive community features creates an engaging learning environment that particularly resonates with older adults. Our findings demonstrate that participants derive substantial social-emotional benefits beyond knowledge acquisition, including strengthened social connections, enhanced companionship, and a reinforced sense of purpose through their Douyin engagement. These social-emotional aspects emerge as crucial factors driving older adults’ selection of Douyin as their preferred learning platform. By providing comprehensive insights into older adults’ engagement with digital platforms for lifelong learning, this research offers valuable implications for HCI, particularly in understanding how technology can be optimized to support the learning needs of older populations. © 2025 Association for Computing Machinery. This article is concerned with the event-triggered adaptive finite-time control problem for a class of switched cyber-physical systems (CPSs) subject to uncertain deception attacks. We deploy the finite time command filter to alleviate the possible explosion of complexity rendered by the virtual control signal’s duplicative differentiation. To stabilize the target system with a guaranteed disturbance rejection performance index, a disturbance observer is constructed by using fuzzy logic systems (FLS) with the hope of estimating the unknown external disturbance. Furthermore, the Nussbaum gain is utilized to resist the unknown control efficiency generated by uncertain deception attacks. Based on the common Lyapunov function (CLF) method, sufficient conditions are derived to ensure that all signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly bounded at a finite time. Finally, the simulation example shows the validity and efficacy of the developed control method. © 2023 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. All rights reserved.

Semi-supervised Speech Lie Detection Algorithm Based on Multiple Features and Adaptive Threshold

The limited number of labeled samples can significantly affect the accuracy of speech lie detection systems. However, semi-supervised algorithms have been shown to effectively improve detection performance under such constraints. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a semi-supervised speech lie detection algorithm that utilizes multiple features and adaptive thresholds. First, through comparative analysis, this paper identifies 312-dimensional acoustic features and 768-dimensional self-supervised features as the key elements of lie detection. Then, these acoustic features are processed using a bidirectional long short-term memory network (Bi-LSTM), which obtains comprehensive information by analyzing acoustic statistical features in both forward and backward directions. Subsequently, this paper develops a semi-supervised feature fusion module (BSFM) to extract deeper insights from basic features and achieves adaptive feature fusion through targeted training. In addition, based on a detailed analysis of the distribution characteristics of lie detection samples, this paper proposes an improved Freematch algorithm to better utilize unlabeled data. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms most existing methods on the self-built H-Wolf dataset and the Columbia/SRI/Colorado Corpus (CSC). © (2025), (International Association of Engineers).
