Despite its advances, face recognition (FR) technology confronts significant challenges, especially in adverse conditions such as varying lighting, facial expressions, poses, and aging effects, which necessitate the development of more robust and accurate recognition algorithms. The importance of face recognition for social robotics lies in its ability to facilitate personalized and secure interactions, enhancing the robot’s social engagement and functionality. This research introduces a novel FR methodology integrating statistical learning and shallow neural networks to refine facial feature representation and recognition. Our approach, which combines a Sparse Auto-Encoder with Exponential Discriminant Analysis, is evaluated across renowned face databases (GT, AR, LFW), demonstrating superior recognition rates and outperforming existing state-of-the-art techniques. Specifically, our system achieved recognition accuracy of 91.94% on the AR dataset under sunglass occlusion, 90.04% under scarf occlusion, and an impressive 99.74% on the LFW database, highlighting its efficacy and resilience against challenging conditions. This work not only advances the field of facial recognition but also underscores the potential of integrated machine learning approaches in addressing complex real-world challenges in digital authentication and security. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

New storage requirements, analysis, and visualization of Big Data, which includes structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, have caused the developers in the past decade to begin preferring Big Data databases, such as NoSQL, that comes to overcome the boundaries of relational Databases such as unlimited scalability, high performance, data modeling, data distribution, and continuous availability. Due to those benefits ensured by this new technology, quite recently, considerable attention has been paid to data migration from relational Database to NoSQL Database. So, in this context, the purpose of this paper is to provide a comparative study of some recent approaches proposed by various researchers to migrate data from relational to NoSQL databases, as well as discussing and analyzing the results of those proposed techniques. Currently, in the field of the software engineering industry, end-users have become extremely requiring;consequently, this industry knew a critical evolution. In this vein, the model generation becomes an awakening and an essential step for many approaches among them we cite the Model Driven Architecture (MDA) approach. The Object Management Group (OMG), the founder of the MDA approach, proposes three different abstraction levels;which are the higher level, average level, and lower level. Until now, most research deal with the transformation at the average and the lowest MDA levels, while ignoring the higher level, which precisely contains the requirements’ models. Therefore, our aim in this paper is to construct a sound and more consistent higher MDA level for e-business information systems by automatically generating a higher level of functional requirements model from the Business Value model. Our source Business Value model is represented by the E3value model, whereas the UML Use Case diagram expresses the generated model. The transformation is performed automatically using ATLAS Transformation Language (ATL). © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

Nowadays, the software industry has known significant growth, while the end-users have become very demanding. In this sense, many approaches have appeared among them we have the Model Driven Architecture (MDA) approach, which is initiative of the Object Management Group (OMG), considering the model as the central entity in the software systems development process. Our contribution in this paper is to suggest the idea of a new disciplined methodology based on the MDA approach to generate the whole of E-business Information System (IS) models from the business value model automatically. The purpose is to facilitate and automate the development process of any E-business IS, passing from a level of abstraction to another of the software development life cycle, via the transformation models key. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

Handwritten digit recognition is critical in the field of deep learning, especially for Latin digits, which are widely utilized in a variety of applications including postal systems, bank check processing, and teaching tools. Recognizing these digits effectively is critical for automating operations that need human-written numbers. Because of its capacity to extract spatial characteristics from pictures, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have shown to be extremely good at categorizing and detecting handwritten numbers. CNNs are more successful at handling differences in handwriting and noise than older approaches. Our CNN model, designed to recognize Latin digits, obtained an 80% accuracy rate, exceeding numerous previous tests. The model efficiently eliminates overfitting by utilizing dropout layers, allowing for greater generalization to previously unknown data. This durability makes the model ideal for practical applications, since it ensures high reliability in digit classification tasks across a wide range of handwriting styles and characteristics. © 2024 The Authors. Fake news is a severe problem on social media networks, with confirmed detrimental consequences for individuals and organizations. As a result, detecting false news is a significant difficulty. In this way, the topic of new fakes and their proper detection are crucial. General knowledge states that the receiver of information must verify the sources. However, the creation of new information can be a difficult problem that requires more than a single viewpoint based on a news source. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the performance of six deep learning models for fake news detection including CNN, LSTM, Bi-LSTM, HAN, Conv-Han and Bert. We find that BERT and similar pre-trained models perform the best for fake news detection, the models are described below with their experimental *** models are examined against ISOT [22, 30] datasets. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
