In many practical data mining applications, such as web categorization, key gene selection, etc., generally, unlabeled training examples are readily available, but labeled ones are fairly expensive to obtain. Therefore, in recent years, semi-supervised learning algorithms such as graph-based methods have attracted much attention. However, most of these traditional methods adopted a Gaussian function to calculate the edge weights of the graph. In this paper, a novel weight for semi-supervised graph-based methods is proposed. The new method adds the label information from problem into the target function, and adopts the geodesic distance rather than Euclidean distance as the measure of the difference between two data points when conducting the calculation. In addition, we also add class prior knowledge from problem into semi-supervised learning algorithm. Here we address the problem of learning with local and global consistency (LGC). It was found that the effect of class prior knowledge was probably different between under high label rate and low label rate. Furthermore, we integrate sparse representation (SR) in LGC algorithm. Experiments on a UCI data set show that our proposed method outperforms the original algorithms. © Springer-Verlag 2013.

Situation awareness (SA), a state in the mind of a human, is essential to conduct decision-making activities. It is about the perception of the elements in the environment, the comprehension of their meaning, and the projection of their status in the near future. Two decades of investigation and analysis of accidents have showed that SA was behind of many serious large-scale technological systems' accidents. This emphasizes the importance of SA support systems development for complex and dynamic environments. This paper presents a fuzzy dynamic Bayesian network-based situation assessment approach to support the operators in decision making process in hazardous situations. The approach includes a dynamic Bayesian network-based situational network to model the hazardous situations where the existence of the situations can be inferred by sensor observations through the SCADA monitoring system using a fuzzy quantizer method. In addition to generate the assessment result, a fuzzy risk estimation method is proposed to show the risk level of situations. Ultimately a hazardous environment from U.S. Chemical Safety Board investigation reports has been used to illustrate the application of proposed approach.

Presently, the research on evolution of SOA solution is becoming more and more important in industry. It is necessary to extract a taxonomy framework for evolution of SOA solution because by using it, evolution of SOA-based systems can be analyzed and compared comprehensively and objectively. In this paper, a taxonomy framework for evolution of SOA solution is proposed that is illustrated from four perspectives: (a) motivations for evolutionary changes (why), (b) locations where evolutionary changes happen (where), (c) times when evolutionary changes happen (when), and (d) support mechanisms in the process of evolutionary changes (how). Furthermore, the taxonomy framework is applied on analyzing a SOA-based configurable system for urban logistics delivery management, as an application of taxonomy framework. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

The visual attention model inspired by the early primate visual system is a very important tool in image *** on the visual attention model, the paper proposes a novel saliency preserved image fusion algorithm with a nonsubsampled contourlet transform(NSCT).The basic idea is that the visual saliency map is first built on the coefficients of the NSCT using the visual attention model,and then is combined with the coefficients of the NSCT to form the activity level which is employed to select the final fused *** algorithm can transform successfully the visual sensitive information from source images into the fused image which contains abundant detailed contents and preserves effectively the saliency structure while enhances the image *** demonstrate that the proposed algorithm yields the encouraging results.

The final segmentation could be achieved after the region clustering and adjacent *** implemented the new algorithm and conducted experiments to validate the region clustering approach and segmentation *** the results show great effectiveness of this new algorithm.

Anomaly detection is indispensable for satisfying security services in mobile ad hoc network (MANET) applications. Often, however, a highly secure mechanism consumes a large amount of network resources, resulting in network performance degradation. To shift intrusion detection from existing security-centric design approaches to network performance centric design schemes, this paper presents a framework for designing an energy-aware and self-adaptive anomaly detection scheme for resource constrained MANETs. The scheme uses network tomography, a new technique for studying internal link performance based solely on end-to-end measurements. With the support of a module comprising a novel spatial-time model to identify the MANET topology, an energy-aware algorithm to sponsor system service, a method based on the expectation maximum to infer delay distribution, and a Self-organizing Map (SOM) neural network solution to profile link activity, the proposed system is capable of detecting link anomalies and localizing malicious nodes. Consequently, the proposed scheme offers a trade-off between overall network security and network performance, without causing any heavy network overload. Moreover, it provides an additional approach to monitor the spatial-time behavior of MANETs, including network topology, link performance and network security. The effectiveness of the proposed schemes is verified through extensive experiments. © 2012 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

This paper aims to study the selection of features based on ECG in emotion recognition. In the process of features selection, we start from existing feature selection algorithm, and pay special attention to some of the intuitive value on ECG waveform as well. Through the use of ANOVA and heuristic search, we picked out the different features to distinguish joy and pleasure these two emotions, then we combine this with pathological analysis of ECG signals by the view of the medical experts to discuss the logic corresponding relation between ECG waveform and emotion distinguish. Through experiment, using the method in this paper we only picked out five features and reached 92% of accuracy rate in the recognition of joy and pleasure. © 2013 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.

software Product Line (SPL) development is a new approach to software engineering that aims at the development of a whole range of products. One of the problems which hinders the adoption of that approach is related with the management of the products of the line. Additionally, the scope of a software product line is determined by the bounds of the capabilities provided by the collection of products in the product line. This introduces new challenges related to the scope problem. One of the main three different forms of scoping is the Product Portfolio Scoping (PPS). PPS aims at defining the products that should be developed as well as their key features. While this has an impact on the actual reuse opportunities, it is usually driven from marketing aspects. Defining a product portfolio by considering costumers satisfaction and cost aspects is a NP-hard problem. This work presents a hybrid approach, which combines fuzzy inference systems and the multi-objective metaheuristics NSGA-II to support product management by generating portfolios of products, based in segments of users and the development cost of the assets of the SPL. Fuzzy inference systems are used to generate development cost of an asset by using coupling, number of code lines and cyclomatic complexity and also to estimate the quality of the products generated by the optimization module of our approach. The NSGA-II metaheuristic is used to search for products minimizing the cost and maximizing the relevance of the candidate products. The results show that the proposed approach is effective in proposing the best products in terms of relevance and cost of the assets.

Constructive Interference (CI) proposed in the existing work (e.g., A-MAC [1], Glossy [2]) may degrade the packet reception performance in terms of Packet Reception Ratio (PRR) and Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI). The packet reception performance of a set of nodes transmitting simultaneously might be no better than that of any single node transmitting individually. In this paper, we redefine CI and propose TriggerCast, a practical wireless architecture which ensures concurrent transmissions of an identical packet to interfere constructively rather than to interfere non-destructively. CI potentially allows orders of magnitude reductions in energy consumption and improvements in link quality. Moreover, we for the first time present a theoretical sufficient condition for generating CI with IEEE 802.15.4 radio: concurrent transmissions with an identical packet should be synchronized at chip level. Meanwhile, co-senders participating in concurrent transmissions should be carefully selected, and the starting instants for the concurrent transmissions should be aligned. Based on the sufficient condition, we propose practical techniques to effectively compensate propagation and radio processing delays. TriggerCast has 95 th percentile synchronization errors of at most 250ns. Extensive experiments in practical testbeds reveal that TriggerCast significantly improves PRR (from 5% to 70% with 7 concurrent senders, from 50% to 98.3% with 6 senders) and RSSI (about 6dB with 5 senders).

This paper is devoted to the problem of state estimate of discrete-time stochastic systems with Markov jump parameters. A robust algorithm-diagonal interacting multiple model algorithm based on H_∞ filtering (DIMMH) is presented for maneuvering target tracking when measurement noise is of unknown statistics. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm.
