As a new unsupervised learning technique, manifold learning has captured the attention of many researchers in the field of machine learning and cognitive sciences. The major algorithms include Isometric mapping (ISOMAP) and Locally Linear Embedding (LLE). The approaches can be used for discovering the intrinsic dimensions of nonlinear high-dimensional data effectively and aim researchers to analyze the data better. How to quantitatively analyze the relationship between the intrinsic dimensions and the observation space, however, has fewer reports. And thus further works in manifold learning may have suffered some difficulties. The paper focuses on two kinds of manifold learning algorithms (ISOMAP, LLE), and discusses magnification factors and principal spread directions from the observation space to the intrinsic low-dimensional space. Also the corresponding algorithm is proposed. Experiments show the effectiveness and advantages of the research.

How to reduce the system' s communication cost is a hard problem because of its strong reliability on the differences incurring by the variant kinds of mobile agents in their execution environments most of which are influenced by synthetical reasons. Making the application components movable inter-system platforms can partly resolve this problem. A new MA system model is given, which divides movable components from fixed components to reduce the communication cost. Resource allocating strategy applied on it is an expanding version of the Avrampopoulos algorithm by adding the parameter to improve its robustness. Experimental results proved its usability and effectiveness.

In recent years, more and more people studied the Bayesian networks learning algorithm that integrates independence test with scoring metric. Based on the proposed hybrid algorithm I-B&B-MDL, a modified method is developed. There are two major contributions. Firstly, order-0 and partial order-1 independence tests are used to obtain an original graph of the network, which reduces the number of independence tests and database passes while effectively restricting the search space. Secondly, by means of the heuristic knowledge of mutual information, sort order for candidate parent nodes increases the cut-offs of the B&B search tree and accelerates search process. The experimental results show that the modified algorithm has high accuracy, and is more efficient in time complexity than other algorithms.

For solving problems in a large-scale distributed Web environment, we propose the distributed β-PSML (problem solver markup language). The distributed β-PSML is an extension of the β-PSML that we have proposed before for complex adaptive, distributed problem solving, and can be easily used for automatic reasoning on the Web. By incorporating global information sources from the Semantic Web and social networks with locally operational knowledge-data bases in an enterprise portal together for decision-making and e-business intelligence, the reason of a distributed β-PSML can be implemented. The experimental results show that our considerations are valid by combining global and local information sources and our preliminary solution works well on the semantic Web.
