DNA triple helix structure, as a highly specific gene targeting tool, enable gene regulation by precisely identifying and binding to target DNA sequences. However, the limits of design quality and efficiency affect their wide application in gene therapy. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an antiparallel DNA triple helixes design method-MFN based on matrix chaotic game representation (mCGR) and flow network. Leveraging the structural characteristics of DNA sequences, this method employs the mCGR algorithm to construct an initial matrix, generating a set of DNA sequences that conform to foundational constraints. Then, these sequences are mapped as stream network nodes to screen crosstalk structures by path search, and the whole process is observable and interpretable. Experimental results show that MFN significantly improves the design efficiency of triple helix structure and reduces crosstalk phenomenon. Wet experiments further verify the effectiveness of the method. In summary, MFN achieves an efficient and high-quality design of DNA triple helixes and provides a new idea for targeted gene therapy. © 2024 IEEE.

Drug-drug interactions (DDIs) refer to the synergistic or antagonistic effects between different drugs. Synergistic effects can enhance therapeutic efficacy, while antagonistic effects may reduce efficacy or even trigger adverse reactions, worsening the patient's condition. Most existing DDI prediction studies overlook the features of chemical bonds between atoms within drug molecules and the interaction types between drug pairs, which to some extent limits the accuracy and reliability of the predictions. In view of this, we have designed a novel framework called KGE-DDI, which leverages knowledge graph embedding (KGE) technology to enhance the prediction of DDIs. Specifically, for individual drug molecules, KGE-DDI first integrates the features of atoms and chemical bond. Then, by introducing attention mechanisms and graph neural network technology, it learns representations of the drug molecules. For pairs of drug molecules, KGE-DDI models their interactions utilizing atom-level Pearson correlation matrices. Finally, it predicts the interactions between drug pairs by employing our designed scoring function. We conducted comprehensive experiments under both transductive and inductive settings, and the results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of KGE-DDI in three scenarios: (existing drug, existing drug), (new drug, new drug), and (new drug, existing drug). © 2024 IEEE.

There's growing recognition of how machine learning can revolutionize the precision and swiftness of clinical diagnoses by improving the classification of white blood cells. However, a machine learning model specialized in white blood cell classification demands access to a large trove of well-annotated data. This poses a challenge, as in the medical field, annotating data comprehensively comes with a high cost in terms of both money and time. To circumvent this, domain adaptation (DA) techniques are employed to leverage similar cell images from related domains, thereby boosting the model's performance in white blood cell classification in specific contexts. Among the myriad DA approaches available for this application, including TCA-based and deep learning methods, all typically suffer from lengthy training durations. Addressing this challenge, we introduce a novel DA method inspired by the random vector functional link (RVFL) network, a type of neural network characterized by its random weights. Our proposed method, named Domain Adaptation Random Vector Functional Link (DA-RVFL), capitalizes on the efficiency of RVFL networks to enhance white blood cell classification. This innovative approach shows some insights for future research in the efficient and effective classification of white blood cells. © 2024 IEEE.

Edge computing is regarded as an extension of cloud computing that brings computing and storage resources to the network edge. For some Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications such as supply-chain supervision and collaboration, Internet of Vehicles, real-time video analysis and so forth, users should be authenticated before visiting the geographically distributed edge servers. Limited by the considerable latency between the cloud and edge servers, and the limited capacity of edge servers, it is infeasible to copy the authentication method from cloud servers when users are authenticated in edge servers. In view of this challenge, this paper proposes a novel token-based authentication scheme, named EdgeAuth, that enables fast edge user authentication through collaboration among cloud servers and edge servers. Under the EdgeAuth scheme, edge servers can rapidly verify the credentials of users who have been authenticated by the cloud server. EdgeAuth can also protect users from a series of authentication attacks, for example, the replay attack, DoS attack and man-in-the-middle attack. The results of experiments conducted on a simulated edge computing environment validate the usefulness of EdgeAuth through a comparison in latency and throughput against two baseline schemes. © 2023 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Railroad transportation is an important infrastructure for public travel and cargo transportation. With the rapid development of railroad construction, the mileage of operation continues to increase and the road network continues to improve, and the railroad covers a wider range of terrain, making the environment for train travel more complex. The behavior of individuals or groups entering the railroad track without permission or authorization may cause serious harm to the life safety of personnel and the normal operation of railroad traffic. Therefore, this paper aimed to propose an improved YOLOV5-based track personnel intrusion detection algorithm, which improves the recall rate by 14% and reduces the loss rate by introducing the CBAM attention mechanism into the C3 layer of the three pyramid strata of YOLO, achieving an average precision of 98%. The results of experimental simulation using the improved model on the acquired image data to be detected for unauthorized personnel intrusion into the track show that the machine vision-based railroad track personnel intrusion detection algorithm in this paper takes full account of the characteristics of the railroad scenario, and the processing has a high detection precision. The finding of the study can make contribution to the Railway Bureau to effectively detect the risk of railroad safety and reduce the probability of accidents. © 2024 SPIE.

At present, the development of bifacial photovoltaic modules is rapid, but there is a lack of concentrating light devices in bifacial photovoltaic modules for power generation. This paper analyzes the changing patterns of solar altitude and azimuth angles and the influence of plane mirror reflection concentrating light on the performance of bifacial photovoltaic power generation. Using MATLAB programming, it calculates the pattern of change of the intensity of reflected light with the installation height h of the plane mirror. Then, a double plane mirror concentrating device is designed, which can do real-time dynamic tracking of the sun's azimuth and altitude angle and realize the power generation capacity of the PV module is multiplied. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Leveraging user's preference and social circle for personalized recommendation via matrix factorization with sub-linear convergence rate

Recommender systems aim to filter information effectively and recommend useful sources to match users' requirements. However, the exponential growth of information in recent social networks may cause low prediction accuracy for recommendation systems. This article proposes a unified personalized recommendation architecture referred to as PSRec, which incorporates user preference and social relationship into matrix factorization framework. Specifically, PSRec generates two collections for textual reviews and contextual information respectively, and performs preference learning for each user via the Latent Dirichlet Allocation topic model. Moreover, PSRec exploits the inner relations within the social circle for recommendation, including direct trust relationship and indirect trust relationship. Additionally, it's certificated that PSRec can converge at a sub-linear rate via theoretical analysis. Experimental results over DoubanMovie, CiaoDVDs and Yelp demonstrate the superiority of the proposed PSRec, which can achieve significant improvements and provide much better user experience while compared with other benchmark models. © 2024 - IOS Press. Although there have been some studies uses prompt learning for the Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis(ABSA) tasks, their methods of prompt-tuning are simple and crude. Compared with vanilla fine-tuning methods, prompt learning intuitively bridges the objective form gap between pre-training and fine-tuning. Concretely, simply constructing prompt related to aspect words fails to fully exploit the potential of Pre-trained Language Models, and conducting more robust and professional prompt engineering for downstream tasks is a challenging problem that needs to be solved urgently. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel syntax-aware enhanced prompt method (SynPrompt), which sufficiently mines the key syntactic information related to aspect words from the syntactic dependency tree. Additionally, to effectively harness the domain-specific knowledge embedded within PLMs for the ABSA tasks, we constructed two adaptive prompt frameworks to enhance the perception ability of the above method. After conducting extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets, we have found that our method consistently achieves favorable results. These findings not only demonstrate the effectiveness and rationality of our proposed methods but also provide a powerful alternative to traditional prompt-tuning. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.
