Humanity has battled tuberculosis for all of recorded history. Some studies estimate that Mycobacterium tuberculosis may have been around as long as 3 million years but it was only in 1834 when Johann Schonlein officially presented the characteristics of it. Even though the TB epidemic has touched all corners of the world, Africa and Asia are the regions that currently suffer the worst consequences. The purpose of this study is to construct a model within the eVision forecasting environment, capable of forecasting the trend of Tuberculosis cases in India, as India is the country that accounts for the largest percentage of TB cases and deaths worldwide. And being able to make predictions for India may also lead to successful results for other regions in Asia and Africa. In order to do so, this study presents different test cases that show the effectiveness of the model, varying the number of steps for each one of the data sets created. It's important to note, that these data sets are combinations of data gathered from the states with the most TB cases in India in the last years, as well as the total data for India, and supplemental data from Google Trends, as a way to facilitate the machine learning model. Even though the final results were respectable compared to past research done on India and other countries, the model nevertheless has a limitation on the number of weeks ahead which the predictions are still considered to be good; with 7 weeks being the optimal result.

Cellular-connected unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications is an enabling technology to transmit control signaling or payload data for UAVs through cellular networks. Due to the line-of-sight (LoS) dominant air-to-ground channels, efficient interference mitigation is crucial to UAV communications, while the conventional fixed-position antenna (FPA) arrays have limited degrees of freedom (DoFs) to suppress the interference between the UAV and its non-associated co-channel base stations (BSs). To address this challenge, we propose in this letter a new approach by utilizing the six-dimensional movable antenna (6DMA) arrays to enhance the interference mitigation for the UAV. Specifically, we propose an efficient block coordinate descent (BCD) algorithm to iteratively optimize the antenna position vector (APV), array rotation vector (ARV), receive beamforming vector, and associated BS of the UAV to maximize its signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). Numerical results show that the proposed 6DMA enhanced cellular-connected UAV communication can significantly outperform that with the traditional FPA arrays and other benchmark schemes in terms of interference mitigation. Graph Structure Learning (GSL) has recently garnered considerable attention due to its ability to optimize both the parameters of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and the computation graph structure simultaneously. Despite the proliferation of GSL methods developed in recent years, there is no standard experimental setting or fair comparison for performance evaluation, which creates a great obstacle to understanding the progress in this field. To fill this gap, we systematically analyze the performance of GSL in different scenarios and develop a comprehensive Graph Structure Learning Benchmark (GSLB) curated from 20 diverse graph datasets and 16 distinct GSL algorithms. Specifically, GSLB systematically investigates the characteristics of GSL in terms of three dimensions: effectiveness, robustness, and complexity. We comprehensively evaluate state-of-the-art GSL algorithms in node- and graph-level tasks, and analyze their performance in robust learning and model complexity. Further, to facilitate reproducible research, we have developed an easy-to-use library for training, evaluating, and visualizing different GSL methods. Empirical results of our extensive experiments demonstrate the ability of GSL and reveal its potential benefits on various downstream tasks, offering insights and opportunities for future research. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the criticality of timely intervention in a situation exacerbated by a shortage in medical staff and equipment. Pain-level screening is the initial step toward identifying the severity of patient conditions. Automatic recognition of state and feelings help in identifying patient symptoms to take immediate adequate action and providing a patient-centric medical plan tailored to a patient's state. In this paper, we propose a framework for pain-level detection for deployment in the United Arab Emirates and assess its performance using the most used approaches in the literature. Discovering Predictable Latent Factors for Time Series Forecasting

Modern temporal modeling methods, such as Transformer and its variants, have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in handling sequential data from specific domains like language and vision. Though achieving high performance with large-scale data, they often have redundant or unexplainable structures. When encountering some real-world datasets with limited observable variables that can be affected by many unknown factors, these methods may struggle to identify meaningful patterns and dependencies inherent in data, and thus, the modeling becomes unstable and unpredictable. To tackle this critical issue, in this paper, we develop a novel algorithmic framework for inferring latent factors implied by the observed temporal data. The inferred factors are used to form multiple predictable and independent signal components that enable not only the reconstruction of future time series for accurate prediction but also sparse relation reasoning for long-term efficiency. To achieve this, we introduce three characteristics, i.e., predictability, sufficiency, and identifiability, and model these characteristics of latent factors via powerful deep latent dynamics models to infer the predictable signal components. Empirical results on multiple real datasets show the efficiency of our method for different kinds of time series forecasting tasks. The sample selection approach is very popular in learning with noisy labels. As deep networks "learn pattern first", prior methods built on sample selection share a similar training procedure: the small-loss examples can be regarded as clean examples and used for helping generalization, while the large-loss examples are treated as mislabeled ones and excluded from network parameter updates. However, such a procedure is arguably debatable from two folds: (a) it does not consider the bad influence of noisy labels in selected small-loss examples;(b) it does not make good use of the discarded large-loss examples, which may be clean or have meaningful information for generalization. In this paper, we propose regularly truncated M-estimators (RTME) to address the above two issues simultaneously. Specifically, RTME can alternately switch modes between truncated M-estimators and original M-estimators. The former can adaptively select small-losses examples without knowing the noise rate and reduce the side-effects of noisy labels in them. The latter makes the possibly clean examples but with large losses involved to help generalization. Theoretically, we demonstrate that our strategies are label-noise-tolerant. Empirically, comprehensive experimental results show that our method can outperform multiple baselines and is robust to broad noise types and levels. Multimodal sentiment analysis (MSA), which supposes to improve text-based sentiment analysis with associated acoustic and visual modalities, is an emerging research area due to its potential applications in Human-computer Interaction (HCI). However, existing researches observe that the acoustic and visual modalities contribute much less than the textual modality, termed as text-predominant. Under such circumstances, in this work, we emphasize making non-verbal cues matter for the MSA task. Firstly, from the resource perspective, we present the CH-SIMS v2.0 dataset, an extension and enhancement of the CH-SIMS. Compared with the original dataset, the CH-SIMS v2.0 doubles its size with another 2121 refined video segments containing both unimodal and multimodal annotations and collects 10161 unlabelled raw video segments with rich acoustic and visual emotion-bearing context to highlight non-verbal cues for sentiment prediction. Secondly, from the model perspective, benefiting from the unimodal annotations and the unsupervised data in the CH-SIMS v2.0, the Acoustic Visual Mixup Consistent (AV-MC) framework is proposed. The designed modality mixup module can be regarded as an augmentation, which mixes the acoustic and visual modalities from different videos. Through drawing unobserved multimodal context along with the text, the model can learn to be aware of different non-verbal contexts for sentiment prediction. Our evaluations demonstrate that both CH-SIMS v2.0 and AV-MC framework enable further research for discovering emotion-bearing acoustic and visual cues and pave the path to interpretable end-to-end HCI applications for real-world scenarios. Spatial attention mechanism has been widely incorporated into deep neural networks (DNNs), significantly lifting the performance in computer vision tasks via long-range dependency modeling. However, it may perform poorly in medical image analysis. Unfortunately, existing efforts are often unaware that long-range dependency modeling has limitations in highlighting subtle lesion regions. To overcome this limitation, we propose a practical yet lightweight architectural unit, Pyramid Pixel Context Adaption (PPCA) module, which exploits multiscale pixel context information to recalibrate pixel position in a pixel-independent manner dynamically. PPCA first applies a well-designed cross-channel pyramid pooling to aggregate multiscale pixel context information, then eliminates the inconsistency among them by the well-designed pixel normalization, and finally estimates per pixel attention weight via a pixel context integration. By embedding PPCA into a DNN with negligible overhead, the PPCANet is developed for medical image classification. In addition, we introduce supervised contrastive learning to enhance feature representation by exploiting the potential of label information via supervised contrastive loss. The extensive experiments on six medical image datasets show that PPCANet outperforms state-of-the-art attention-based networks and recent deep neural networks. With the increasing popularity of smart terminals, the Internet of Things (IoT) vastly expands the influence of information technology and creates great values to our society. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a typical application of the IoT specifically for medical and healthcare related purposes. In IoMT, personal health records (PHRs) generated by intelligent equipment are usually stored in a cloud sever managed by a semi-trusted cloud provider. However, there is still a possibility of the exposure of private information to unauthorized parties. In order to protect a patient’s private information, and ensure that doctors can search a patient’s PHRs without decrypting all ciphertexts, an efficient searchable encryption framework with weighted keywords is proposed in this paper. In this framework, we implement a weighted keyword model to raise the accuracy of search results, and reduce the computational and storage overhead. Besides, compared with the existing schemes, the framework is supportable of multi-search mechanism, which is adaptable to more application scenarios.
