In a Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA), reactor core temperatures can rise rapidly, leading to potential fuel damage and radioactive material release. This research presents a groundbreaking method that combines the power of Monte Carlo Sampling and Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) to simulate and effectively address the challenging Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA) in nuclear reactors. In the event of a LOCA, reactor core temperatures can soar rapidly, posing a significant threat to fuel integrity and potentially leading to the release of radioactive materials. By leveraging the strengths of both Monte Carlo Sampling and PINNs, this approach aims to provide a comprehensive and accurate simulation framework for assessing and mitigating the consequences of such accidents. The method yields high prediction accuracy (MAE: 0.033, RMSE: 0.098, R2: 0.814) and demonstrates robustness through transfer learning, maintaining strong performance (MAE: 0.064, RMSE: 0.163, R2: 0.735). © 2024 IEEE.

MTD: Multi-Timestep Detector for Delayed Streaming Perception

Autonomous driving systems require real-time environmental perception to ensure user safety and experience. Streaming perception is a task of reporting the current state of the world, which is used to evaluate the delay and accuracy of autonomous driving systems. In real-world applications, factors such as hardware limitations and high temperatures inevitably cause delays in autonomous driving systems, resulting in the offset between the model output and the world state. In order to solve this problem, this paper propose the Multi-Timestep Detector (MTD), an end-to-end detector which uses dynamic routing for multi-branch future prediction, giving model the ability to resist delay fluctuations. A Delay Analysis Module (DAM) is proposed to optimize the existing delay sensing method, continuously monitoring the model inference stack and calculating the delay trend. Moreover, a novel Timestep Branch Module (TBM) is constructed, which includes static flow and adaptive flow to adaptively predict specific timesteps according to the delay trend. The proposed method has been evaluated on the Argoverse-HD dataset, and the experimental results show that it has achieved state-of-the-art performance across various delay settings. The pre-training language model BERT has brought significant performance improvements to a series of natural language processing tasks, but due to the large scale of the model, it is difficult to be applied in many practical application scenarios. With the continuous development of edge computing, deploying the models on resource-constrained edge devices has become a trend. Considering the distributed edge environment, how to take into account issues such as data distribution differences, labeling costs, and privacy while the model is shrinking is a critical task. The paper proposes a new BERT distillation method with source-free unsupervised domain adaptation. By combining source-free unsupervised domain adaptation and knowledge distillation for optimization and improvement, the performance of the BERT model is improved in the case of cross-domain data. Compared with other methods, our method can improve the average prediction accuracy by up to around 4% through the experimental evaluation of the cross-domain sentiment analysis task.

Defect detection aims to locate the accurate position of defects in images, which is of great significance to quality inspection in the industrial product manufacturing. Currently, many defect detection methods rely on deep neural networks to extract features. Although the accuracy of these methods is relatively high, it is computationally intensive, making the methods difficult to deploy in resource-limited edge devices. In order to solve these problems, a lightweight defect detection model for the industrial edge environment is proposed, termed the efficient defect detection network (EDDNet). EfficientNet-B0 is used as the feature extraction backbone, extracting feature maps from feature layers of different depths of the network and fusing multilevel features by multilevel feature fusion (MFF). To obtain more information, we redesign the attention mechanism in MBConv blocks, taking the encoding space (ES) attention mechanism as a new module, which solves the problem that the defective image spatial information is ignored. The experimental results on the NEU-DET and DAGM2007 datasets and PCB defect datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed EDDNet and its possibility for application in industrial edge device.

BayLing 2: A Multilingual Large Language Model with Efficient Language Alignment

Large language models (LLMs), with their powerful generative capabilities and vast knowledge, empower various tasks in everyday life. However, these abilities are primarily concentrated in high-resource languages, leaving low-resource languages with weaker generative capabilities and relatively limited knowledge. Enhancing the multilingual capabilities of LLMs is therefore crucial for serving over 100 linguistic communities worldwide. An intuitive approach to enhance the multilingual capabilities would be to construct instruction data for various languages, but constructing instruction data for over 100 languages is prohibitively costly. In this paper, we introduce BayLing 2, which efficiently transfers generative capabilities and knowledge from high-resource languages to low-resource languages through language alignment. To achieve this, we constructed a dataset of 3.2 million instructions, comprising high-resource language instructions (Chinese and English) and cross-lingual instructions for 100+ languages and performed instruction tuning based on the dataset to facilitate the capability transfer between languages. Using Llama as the foundation model, we developed BayLing-2-7B, BayLing-2-13B, and BayLing-2-8B, and conducted a comprehensive evaluation of BayLing. For multilingual translation across 100+ languages, BayLing shows superior performance compared to open-source models of similar scale. For multilingual knowledge and understanding benchmarks, BayLing achieves significant improvements across over 20 low-resource languages, demonstrating its capability of effective knowledge transfer from high-resource to low-resource languages. Furthermore, results on English benchmarks indicate that BayLing maintains high performance in high-resource languages while enhancing the performance in low-resource languages. Thanks to the emergence of transformers and Vision Transformer (VIT), attention mechanisms have also been applied to medical image registration. However, the current attention mechanisms in medical image registration suffer from incomplete information interaction. Common unsupervised registration methods may be constrained by the imperfect medical image data with uncertainty and noise, leading to unstable registration results susceptible to *** address these evident drawbacks, this paper proposes a novel medical image registration method, namely, Registration Based on Dual-Window Attention and Multi-Latent Space(DW-MLSR). The Dual-Window attention mechanism introduced in this paper enables the model to comprehensively focus on crucial local regions in the image, thereby improving registration accuracy and robustness. Meanwhile, MLS, employed as a data augmentation method, enhances the model's generalization ability and robustness by learning latent image representations, providing richer image *** results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed medical image registration method over mainstream registration models. Cloud computing enables remote execution of users’ tasks. The pervasive adoption of cloud computing in smart cities’ services and applications requires timely execution of tasks adhering to Quality of Services (QoS). However, the increasing use of computing servers exacerbates the issues of high energy consumption, operating costs, and environmental pollution. Maximizing the performance and minimizing the energy in the cloud data center is challenging. In this paper, we propose a performance and energy optimization bi-objective algorithm to trade off the contradicting performance and energy objectives. An evolutionary algorithm-based multi-objective optimization is for the first time proposed using system performance counters. The performance of the proposed model is evaluated using a realistic cloud dataset in a cloud computing environment. Our experimental results achieve higher performance and lower energy consumption compared to a state-of-the-art algorithm.

In response to the substantial threat that Internet attacks pose to data center network security, researchers have proposed several deep learning-based methods for detecting network intrusions. However, while algorithms are constantly improving in terms of accuracy, their stability in the face of insufficient attack samples is a major obstacle. To solve the issues of insufficient attack samples and low detection accuracy in network intrusion detection, this paper proposes a deep confidence network intrusion detection method G-DBN based on GAN. The model is based on the malicious sample extension of the generative adversarial network, and it can produce adversarial samples using malicious network flows as original samples. Furthermore, this paper uses deep belief network technology to create and assess the efficacy of the G-DBN model in detecting network attacks, comparing it to standard DBN models and other network intrusion detection techniques. Experimental results show that compared to the standard three-layer DBN method, the G-DBN method described in this paper improves the detection accuracy of attack samples by 6.46% and better meets the performance requirements of current practical applications.

To prevent the serious impact on production efficiency caused by service interruption, data loss, and other issues resulting from server faults, this paper proposes a server fault prediction model named Wavelet Packet Transform Probabilistic Neural Network(WPT-PNN). WPT-PNN loosely mixes wavelet packet transform and probabilistic neural network to achieve quick fault localization and signal denoising effects. The proposed model is validated using server operational data gathered. The experimental results suggest that the WPT-PNN model can effectively manage the challenges of complicated, non-stationary, and noisy signals in the feature extraction stage and extract signal features reliably. In the fault classification prediction stage, our method improves fault prediction accuracy to 81%, and limits the error range within [-2, 4], better matching the requirements for precise and low false-positive fault prediction in servers.

A vehicular network underpinned by the 3-tier vehicle-edge-cloud infrastructure enables an efficient and safer travel experience. The compute-intensive vehicular applications are often offloaded to the edge and/or cloud servers to enhance the applications’ Quality of Services (QoS). The underlying edge-cloud servers consume a high among of energy. Consequently, it becomes crucial to optimizing energy consumption in the offloading process. Current energy-efficient offloading strategies in 2-tier vehicle-edge infrastructure, do not account for cloud computing energy consumption. In this paper, we address this void by proposing a machine learning-based energy-aware offloading algorithm, which optimizes the energy of the edge-cloud computing platform. The offloading strategy is enabled by the Support Vector Machine (SVM) regression model machine learning algorithm used for the edge-cloud power prediction. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a promising approach in energy savings.
