Location Detection Technology (LDT), which accurately estimates the location of a mobile station (MS), is one of core techniques for the modern communication system. Among various LDTs, Time of arrival (TOA) and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) are the most commonly employed method, which calculates the location of MS based on at least three signals from base stations (BSs). In the urban environment, many repeaters have been installed for overcoming the radio shadow area problem of a receiver, but they cause the serious errors of the location estimation when we utilize signals passed through repeaters. In order to enhance this problem, in this paper, we introduce the combined location estimation approach with TDOA and TOA considering the repeater, based on signals from two repeaters and one BS. © 2023 IEEE.

Recently,user recognitionmethods to authenticate personal identity has attracted significant attention especially with increased availability of various internet of things(IoT)services through fifth-generation technology(5G)based mobile *** EMG signals generated inside the body with unique individual characteristics are being studied as a part of nextgeneration user recognition ***,there is a limitation when applying EMG signals to user recognition systems as the same operation needs to be repeated while maintaining a constant strength of muscle over ***,it is necessary to conduct research on multidimensional feature transformation that includes changes in frequency features over *** this paper,we propose a user recognition system that applies EMG signals to the short-time fourier transform(STFT),and converts the signals into EMG spectrogram images while adjusting the time-frequency resolution to extract multidimensional *** proposed system is composed of a data pre-processing and normalization process,spectrogram image conversion process,and final classification *** experimental results revealed that the proposed EMG spectrogram image-based user recognition system has a 95.4%accuracy performance,which is 13%higher than the EMGsignal-based *** a user recognition accuracy improvement was achieved by using multidimensional features,in the time-frequency domain.

As fifth generation technology standard(5G)technology develops,the possibility of being exposed to the risk of cyber-attacks that exploits vulnerabilities in the 5G environment is *** existing personal recognitionmethod used for granting permission is a password-basedmethod,which causes security ***,personal recognition studies using bio-signals are being conducted as a method to access control to *** bio-signal,surface electromyogram(sEMG)can solve the existing personal recognition problem that was unable to the modification of registered information owing to the characteristic changes in its signal according to the performed ***,as an advantage,sEMG can be conveniently measured from arms and *** paper proposes a personal recognition method using sEMG,based on a multi-stream convolutional neural network(CNN).The proposed method decomposes sEMG signals into intrinsic mode functions(IMF)using empirical mode decomposition(EMD)and transforms each IMF into a *** recognition is performed by analyzing time–frequency features from the spectrogram transformed *** database(DB)adopted in this paper is the Ninapro DB,which is a benchmark EMG *** experimental results indicate that the personal recognition performance of the multi-stream CNN using the IMF spectrogram improved by 1.91%,compared with the singlestream CNN using the spectrogram of raw sEMG.

Millions of tons of cherry tomatoes are produced annually, with the harvesting process being crucial. This paper presents a deep learning-based approach to distinguish the ripeness of cherry tomatoes during the harvesting process. It specifically analyzes the performance of the YOLO (You Only Look Once)v5 and YOLOv8 models, which are designed to rapidly detect the ripeness of cherry tomatoes in real time. The proposed system is expected to resolve rural issues caused by population decline and enhance productivity in cherry tomato harvesting environments. Future research will aim to apply this technology to harvesting robots for the automatic recognition and harvesting of cherry tomatoes. © 2024, Institute of Control, Robotics and systems. This paper presents a novel approach to estimate and compensate for the misalignment between the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) sensors. Estimating the location and attitude of an ROV usually combines the attitude by IMU and the velocity by the DVL provided in the sensor coordinate system. The attitude is regarded as the attitude of the ROV and the velocity in the sensor coordinate frame is converted to the velocity in the inertial coordinate frame. Misalignment in the DVL and IMU causes errors in the converted velocity and results in the degradation of the navigation performance. The proposed method represents the misalignment using unit quaternion. Especially, the method utilizes the Lie theory to deal with the operations on unit quaternions which constitute a Lie group, called the 3-sphere group. Simulation and testing of the method in a marine environment validate its effectiveness and practical applicability. © 2023 ICROS.

Drones are widely used in industries because drones perform tasks in various environments. Drones are highly utilized because drones are not affected by ground conditions. Estimating the position of the drone is important for the successful completion of the missions that are assigned to the drone. In wireless communication environments, data missing often occurs between the anchors serve as the transmitter and the drone-attached tag serves as the receiver. In this paper, we propose a localization algorithm that can accurately estimate the location of the drone in the case of data missing. The proposed algorithm can estimate the position of the drone using the residuals of the predicted measurements in the case of data missing. The proposed algorithm aimed to estimate the position of the drone in the case of data missing using distance information between the anchors and the drone-attached tag and verified the performance of the proposed algorithm through simulation. © 2023 ICROS.

Traditional inspection methods for contact lenses primarily involved manual examination, where workers directly assessed the physical properties and manufacturing defects of the lenses. Consequently, the quality determination relied on the workers' judgment, leading to inconsistencies. In order to address this issue, although Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) was introduced, it has limitations in applying to various types of contact lenses. As part of research to utilize deep learning in AOI, this paper introduces a You Only Look Once (YOLO) v9-based contact lens inspection technique that leverages a small dataset of contact lens images. This method involves training YOLO v9 with the limited number of images that include various defects such as bubbles, cracks, and foreign particles, as well as images of defect-free contact lenses. © 2024 IEEE.

In modern wireless communication systems using multiple antenna elements, accurately identifying the signals contained in the received signal is very important. Conventional signal number estimation algorithms operate for the entire set of antenna elements, resulting in high computational complexity. In order to enhance this high computational complexity problem, this paper proposes beamspace based Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Minimum Description Length (MDL) algorithms based on a concentric circular array (CCA) antenna for efficient signal number estimation. In addition, computer simulation results are presented to evaluate the signal-number estimation performance of the proposed algorithm.
