Borobudur Temple, as a cultural heritage, experiences unavoidable damage from degradation, human activities, and disasters. These problems must be resolved by considering the form and value of Borobudur Temple for future generations. This research aims to reconstruct cultural heritage by focusing on the case study of the Kijang Sarabha relief at Borobudur Temple. Digital restoration has previously been conducted by the Borobudur Conservation Center using 3D photogrammetry laser scanning technology. This restoration effort will continue with the goal of sustainability. The research is practical in design and utilizes a black box process framework method, which consists of the following steps: inputting the 3D photogrammetry of the relief, analyzing literature, references, and documentation within the black box, and outputting the reconstructed deer relief object. The result of this research is a digital reconstruction of the Kijang Sarabha relief, which could serve as a recommendation for digital reconstruction processes for other cultural heritage objects. The techniques used not only rely on initial 3D photogrammetry data but also include 3D modeling techniques such as displacement mapping, pro cutter 3D, and texturing. This research can serve as a reference for further studies on the restoration and reconstruction of cultural heritage using 3D digital design technology.

There is strong evidence that people with psychosis are highly responsive to environmental changes. The institutional tradition has been blamed for chronic psychotic illness in the past, but there has been little evidence to identify the negative influences that it has perpetrated. This study attempts to identify hitherto unknown factors embedded in the physical design of psychiatric environments. Agrounded theory methodwas chosen for this study. The study was undertaken from April 2013 until May 2015 in a mental health facility with 110 male patients with psychosis mostly diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia. Data were collected by covert non-participant observation and unstructured interviews with nine centre staff. The study found that there are standing patterns of behaviour around affordances – that is, around opportunities for action. When these encourage self-expression, better sensory, and bodily engagement and form meaningful experiences, they are positive and recovery-oriented. However, when they involve competition for territory and relative comfort, they are deleterious to mental health. Standing patterns of behaviour are predictable – be they good or bad. An understanding of these patterns will enable better mental health facility design in the future.

To examine the effects of cultural factors in sound evaluation, a comparative study was carried out between the UK and Taiwan, with six case study sites, three in Sheffield and three in Taipei, representing typical urban texture of residential areas. The study included a series of questionnaire surveys as well as noise measurements and simulation of the case study sites using noise-mapping software. The results reveal significant differences between the two cultures in a number of aspects, including choosing and evaluating living environment, noise noticeability, annoyance and sleep disturbance, activities, and sound preference, although it has been demonstrated that both in the UK and Taiwan, acoustic quality is an important consideration of the overall urban environment.
Light pollution is part of the contemporary environmental crisis that threatens directly and indirectly humans and biodiversity. This phenomenon has been deteriorating the last years. Scientists have given the last de...

Formaldehyde evolves from various household items and is of environmental and public health concern. Removal of this contaminant from the indoor air is of utmost importance and currently, various practices are in the field. Among these practices, indoor plants are of particular importance because they help in controlling indoor temperature, moisture, and oxygen concentration. Plants and plant materials studied for the purpose have been reviewed hereunder. The main topics of the review are, mechanism of phytoremediation, plants and their benefits, plant material in formaldehyde remediation, and airtight environmental and health issues. Future research in the field is also highlighted which will help new researches to plan for the remediation of formaldehyde in indoor air. The remediation capacity of several plants has been tabulated and compared, which gives easy access to assess various plants for remediation of the target pollutant. Challenges and issues in the phytoremediation of formaldehyde are also discussed. Novelty statement: Phytoremediation is a well-known technique to mitigate various organic and inorganic pollutants. The technique has been used by various researchers for maintaining indoor air quality but its efficiency under real-world conditions and human activities is still a question and is vastly affected relative to laboratory conditions. Several modifications in the field are in progress, here in this review article we have summarized and highlighted new directions in the field which could be a better solution to the problem in the future.
