We sought to revolutionize the classification of Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (AdHd) by pioneering an innovative approach that seamlessly integrated auditory and visual tests with electroencephalogram (EEG) coherence analysis, forming the foundation for our Support Vector Machine (SVM) models. Our primary objective was to achieve precise differentiation between individuals with AdHd and those without, aiming to reshape the landscape of AdHd diagnosis and early intervention. We constructed an SVM model based on CATA coherence, incorporating a carefully selected set of 180 features, and another grounded in CPT coherence with 70 features. Astonishingly, our exploration uncovered that a model incorporating CATA's coherence and Power Spectral density (PSd) as features achieved an astounding accuracy rate of 97.7%, using only half the number of features. This revelation hints at untapped potential for multivariate advancements in the realm of AdHd classification. The landscape of AdHd diagnosis and intervention is perpetually evolving, most notably with the FdA's approval of game therapy for AdHd. Leveraging the transformative power of our findings, we envision the development of user-friendly game therapies for in-home use, empowering both clinicians and parents alike. This marks a paradigm shift in the realm of AdHd intervention, offering objective, data-driven tools for the early management of AdHd. Gamified therapy not only enhances accessibility but also fosters engagement and compliance, all of which are pivotal in the long-term care of individuals with AdHd. In summary, our study represents a significant advancement in our comprehension and classification of AdHd. By fusing auditory and visual tests with EEG coherence analysis, fortified by state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, we have achieved an unprecedented level of accuracy in identifying individuals with AdHd. Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PdA) is a pernicious disease characterized by an immunosuppressive milieu that is unresponsive to current immunotherapies. Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) is a natural anti-inflammatory cytokine;however, its contribution to cancer pathogenesis and immunosuppression remains elusive. In this research, we investigated the role and mechanism of IL-1Ra in malignant progression of PdA. Results: Through analyzing clinical dataset and examining the pathological tumor tissues and serum samples, we have demonstrated that IL-1Ra expression is elevated in human PdA and positively associated with malignant progression of PdA. To study the biological function of IL-1Ra in tumors, we generated a set of mouse pancreatic cancer cell lines with a knockout (KO) of the Il1rn gene, encoding IL-1Ra, and compared the tumor growth rates in immune-competent and immune-deficient mice. We found that the Il1rn KO cells exhibited greater tumor inhibition in immune-competent mice, highlighting the crucial role of a functional immune system in Il1rn KO-mediated anti-tumor response. Consistently, we found an increase in Cd8⁺ T cells and a decrease in Cd11b⁺Ly6G⁻ immunosuppressive mononuclear population in the tumor microenvironment of Il1rn KO-derived tumors. To monitor the inhibitory effects of IL-1Ra on immune cells, we utilized a luciferase-based reporter Cd4⁺ T cell line and splenocytes, which were derived from transgenic mice expressing ovalbumin-specific T cell receptors in Cd8⁺ T cells, and mice immunized with ovalbumin. We showed that IL-1Ra suppressed T cell receptor signaling and inhibited antigen-specific interferon-γ (IFN-γ) secretion and cytolytic activity in splenocytes. In this study, a series of Al complexes bearing amidates, thioamidates, ureidates, and thioureidates were synthesized and their catalytic activity for ϵ-caprolactone (CL) polymerization was evaluated. SPr-Al exhibited a higher catalytic activity than OPr-Al (3.2 times as high for CL polymerization;[CL] : [SPr-Al] : [BnOH] = 100 : 0.5 : 2;[SPr-Al] = 10 mM, conv. = 93% after 14 min at 25 °C), and USCl-Al exhibited a higher catalytic activity than UCl-Al (4.6 times as high for CL polymerization;[CL] : [USCl-Al] : [BnOH] = 100 : 0.5 : 2;[USCl-Al] = 10 mM, conv. = 90% after 15 min at 25 °C). Regardless of whether aluminum amidates or ureidates were present, thioligands improved the polymerization rate of aluminum catalysts. density functional theory calculations revealed that the eight-membered ring [SPr-AlOMe2]2 decomposed into the four-membered ring SPr-AlOMe2. However, [OPr-AlOMe2]2 did not decompose because of its strong bridging Al-O bond. The overall activation energy required for CL polymerization was lower when using [SPr-AlOMe2]2 (18.1 kcal mol−1) as a catalyst than when using [OPr-AlOMe2]2 (23.9 kcal mol−1). This is because the TS2a transition state of SPr-AlOMe2 had a more open coordination geometry with a small N-Al-S angle (72.91°) than did TS3c of [OPr-AlOMe2]2, the crowded highest-energy transition state of [OPr-AlOMe2]2 with a larger N-Al-O angle (99.63°). © 2023 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Supervised learning of deep neural networks heavily relies on large-scale datasets annotated by high-quality labels. In contrast, mislabeled samples can significantly degrade the generalization of models and result in memorizing samples, further learning erroneous associations of data contents to incorrect annotations. To this end, this paper proposes an efficient approach to tackle noisy labels by learning robust feature representation based on unsupervised augmentation restoration and cluster regularization. In addition, progressive self-bootstrapping is introduced to minimize the negative impact of supervision from noisy labels. Our proposed design is generic and flexible in applying to existing classification architectures with minimal overheads. Experimental results show that our proposed method can efficiently and effectively enhance model robustness under severely noisy labels.

Over the years, the grinding wheels industry has played a crucial role in mechanical engineering. Grinding wheel specification is composed of various factors such as abrasive type, wheel grade, bond type, and more, which are derived from customer workpiece operation information. Traditionally, the determination process of grinding wheel specifications is complicated. Experienced engineers need to check out the limitation and consider the interaction of each factor. When the new specification order comes, engineers have to spend a lot of time on historical data search and discussion. Recently, the application of artificial intelligence attracts more and more attention in the manufacturing industry. Through collecting historical data, the model has the ability to extract the domain knowledge, predict the specification that does not exist, and reduce the decision time. However, when training the model, this grinding wheel specification faced multiple imbalanced targets and multi-task issues. In the past, research efforts primarily focused on studying single-task learning (STL) algorithms. Seldom of them has a systematic way to discuss the model determination of multiple targets and correlation influence, especially on the tabular-type dataset. In this study, we proposed a multiple resampling chain multi-task learning framework to address the issue of data science. To tackle the multi-task imbalance resampling problem, we also proposed a resampling strategy called Multiple Resampling Chain. Moreover, we conducted a sensitivity analysis to examine the correlation effect on model improvement. Finally, we proposed a cyber-recommendation system that integrates the training model and interface to provide a more intuitive way of specification prediction. This system not only can help engineers to improve the time spent on making decisions, but also make the whole manufacturing process to be more intelligent. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor with a high mortality rate among women. Therefore, it is necessary to develop novel therapies to effectively treat this disease. In this study, iron selenide nanorods (FeSe2 NRs) were designed for use in magnetic hyperthermic, photothermal, and chemodynamic therapy (MHT/PTT/CdT) for breast cancer. To illustrate their efficacy, FeSe2 NRs were modified with the chemotherapeutic agent methotrexate (MTX). MTX-modified FeSe2 (FeSe2-MTX) exhibited excellent controlled drug release properties. Fe2+ released from FeSe2 NRs induced the release of •OH from H2O2 via a Fenton/Fenton-like reaction, enhancing the efficacy of CdT. Under alternating magnetic field (AMF) stimulation and 808 nm laser irradiation, FeSe2-MTX exerted potent hyperthermic and photothermal effects by suppressing tumor growth in a breast cancer nude mouse model. In addition, FeSe2 NRs can be used for magnetic resonance imaging in vivo by incorporating their superparamagnetic characteristics into a single nanomaterial. Overall, we presented a novel technique for the precise delivery of functional nanosystems to tumors that can enhance the efficacy of breast cancer treatment. © 2024 The Authors. Human health/socioeconomic development is closely correlated to environmental pollution, highlighting the need to monitor contaminants in the real environment with reliable devices such as biosensors. Recently, variety of biosensors gained high attention and employed as application, in real-time, and cost-effective analytical tools for healthy environment. For continuous environmental monitoring, it is necessary for portable, cost-effective, quick, and flexible biosensing devices. These benefits of the biosensor strategy are related to the Sustainable development Goals (SdGs) established by the United Nations (UN), especially with reference to clean water and sources of energy. However, the relationship between SdGs and biosensor application for environmental monitoring is not well understood. In addition, some limitations and challenges might hinder the biosensor application on environmental monitoring. Herein, we reviewed the different types of biosensors, principle and applications, and their correlation with SdG 6, 12, 13, 14, and 15 as a reference for related authorities and administrators to consider. In this review, biosensors for different pollutants such as heavy metals and organics were documented. The present study highlights the application of biosensor for achieving SdGs. Current advantages and future research aspects are summarized in this paper. NOx is a universal term for nitrogen oxide relevant to air pollution namely nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (N2). Mostly NOx is generated from the anthropogenic activities. Currently photo-catalysis is an emerging tool used for the reduction of air pollutants which helps to improve the air quality. In this experimental work Bi2S3 doped into g-C3N4 used as catalyst and the resulting products were characterized such as XRd, FTIR, EdS. Bi2S3@g-C3N4 can harvest the solar light due to narrow band gap which improve electron hole pair and generated hydroxyl and superoxide radicals. Furthermore, Bi2S3@g-C3N4 increased the photo-oxidation efficiency of the transformation from NOx to NO3. In short, this study provides accomplished and effective approach to prepare Bi2S3@g-C3N4 photocatalysts for NOx degradation under solar light. © 2021 IEEE.

The kitchen waste compost treatment of diesel contaminated soil has the advantages of good bioremediation effect and low treatment cost. However, through understanding the mechanism of microbial degradation of diesel, the disadvantage of biological treatment time in the composting process is too time-consuming. The research results showed that the evolution of microbial communities was affected by physicochemical parameters in the composting process. during the heating period, it was found that Lactobacillus sakei and Escherichia coli were acid producing bacteria. Pseudomonas putida GB-1 is a terpenoid producing bacterium. Bacillus sp. was found to be aldehyde and sulfide producing bacteria during high temperature composting. Brevibacillus borstenensis and Low G + C Gram positive bacteria are ammonia producing bacteria. The microbial degradation mechanism could be deduced according to the VOCs change in compost gas, and the strategies to promote the efficiency of biological treatment in the composting process were provided for reference. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd
