There are broad benefits to developing pedestrian spaces in terms of environment, culture, and economy. Given this context, accurately measuring pedestrian traffic is considered a critical indicator of sidewalk usage. Currently, the mainstream method for detecting pedestrians utilizes RGB camera footage installed along sidewalks. However, especially during nighttime and adverse weather conditions, insufficient lighting hampers detection accuracy. In contrast, Far-Infrared(FIR) imaging does not require a light source as it measures radiated heat. This study proposes a pedestrian detection and tracking model that integrates the strengths of both RGB and FIR cameras through image fusion processing. Specifically, pedestrians are detected from fused images using a pedestrian detector and then tracked using a tracking system to measure pedestrian counts. Additionally, a version of the pedestrian detector trained on the fused images through transfer learning is developed, and its detection results are compared with those from a non-transfer learning model. The experimental results demonstrate that using fused images for detection and tracking is effective in specific data scenarios, confirming the utility of the image fusion model under varied conditions.

Aquatic vegetation plays an important role in the maintenance of wetland biodiversity and ecological function. As the complex spectral characteristics and growth environment, its spatial distribution is affected by many factors. This study investigated the potential of using remote sensing to map aquatic vegetation distribution on a large scale in Honghu Lake, China. According to aquatic vegetation's ecological characteristics, the study firstly analyzed the selection and extraction of optimal feature images benefiting aquatic vegetation classification. Next, classification knowledge mining based on these feature images was discussed. Finally, a multi-classifier combination method, which combines decision tree classifier, naive bayes classifier and supporting vector machine classifier, was proposed to distinguish different wetland types. Validation using in situ surveys suggested that this approach could get higher accuracy than each single classifier in mapping aquatic vegetation distribution on a large scale.

Blockchains have become increasingly important in recent years and have expanded their applicability to many domains beyond finance and cryptocurrencies. This adoption has particularly increased with the introduction of smart contracts, which are immutable, user-defined programs directly deployed on blockchain networks. However, many scenarios require business transactions to simultaneously access smart contracts on multiple, possibly heterogeneous blockchain networks while ensuring the atomicity and isolation of these transactions, which is not natively supported by current blockchain systems. Therefore, in this work, we introduce the Transactional Cross-Chain Smart Contract Invocation (TCCSCI) approach that supports such distributed business transactions while ensuring their global atomicity and serializability. The approach introduces the concept of Resource Manager Smart Contracts, and 2PC for Blockchains (2PC4BC), a client-driven Atomic Commit Protocol (ACP) specialized for blockchain-based distributed transactions. We validate our approach using a prototypical implementation, evaluate its introduced overhead, and prove its correctness.
