The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding assigns standardized codes to diseases. Automating this process enhances the efficiency and accuracy of clinical records processing. However, current methods struggle with noisy and lengthy clinical texts, making it difficult to ensure the reliability of feature extraction. Furthermore, they typically make separate binary predictions for each code, overlooking the dependencies between them. To address these issues, we propose a novel model called Hierarchical Feature Optimization and Rescorer (HiRes). We employ a cascaded convolution architecture to mitigate noise and enhance feature representation. Additionally, a masked autoencoder-based rescorer is introduced to capture ICD code interdependencies, refining initial predictions for improved accuracy. The model also considers the inconsistencies in code representations. Experiments on the MIMIC datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our model.

Multimodal image fusion aims to merge features from different modalities to create a comprehensively representative image. However, existing medical image fusion methods often struggle to handle noise generated during image acquisition, significantly diminishing their impact on visual quality. To address these challenges, we propose a semantically text-guided medical image fusion model, named TDMF. Specifically, TDMF guides classical image fusion through textual semantics and effectively coordinates the resolution of degradation and interaction issues during the fusion process. By integrating text encoders and interactive fusion modules, TDMF establishes a unified framework for denoising and interactive fusion of medical images. Extensive experiments have demonstrated that our proposed text-guided image fusion strategy offers significant advantages over state-of-the-art methods in medical image fusion performance.

Safe and Reliable Diffusion Models via Subspace Projection

Large-scale text-to-image (T2I) diffusion models have revolutionized image generation, enabling the synthesis of highly detailed visuals from textual descriptions. However, these models may inadvertently generate inappropriate content, such as copyrighted works or offensive images. While existing methods attempt to eliminate specific unwanted concepts, they often fail to ensure complete removal—allowing the concept to reappear in subtle forms. For instance, a model may successfully avoid generating images in Van Gogh’s style when explicitly prompted with "Van Gogh", yet still reproduce his signature artwork when given the prompt "Starry Night". In this paper, we propose SAFER, a novel and efficient approach for thoroughly removing target concepts from diffusion models. At a high level, SAFER is inspired by the observed low-dimensional structure of the text embedding space. The method first identifies a concept-specific subspace Sc associated with the target concept c. It then projects the prompt embeddings onto the complementary subspace of Sc, effectively erasing the concept from the generated images. Since concepts can be abstract and difficult to fully capture using natural language alone, we employ textual inversion to learn an optimized embedding of the target concept from a reference image. This enables more precise subspace estimation and enhances removal performance. Furthermore, we introduce a subspace expansion strategy to ensure comprehensive and robust concept erasure. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SAFER consistently and effectively erases unwanted concepts from diffusion models while preserving generation quality. © 2025, CC BY.

The goal of fusing hyperspectral images (HSI) and multispectral images (MSI) is to generate high-resolution hyperspectral images for downstream tasks. However, most existing methods overlook the specific requirements of these tasks, leading to a gap between the fusion process and its subsequent applications due to insufficient guidance from downstream tasks. To address this issue, we propose a classification-guided multitask interactive network (CGNet) that integrates both fusion and classification tasks into a unified framework, with two branches producing the fused image and classification results, respectively. In the fusion branch, we design a multi-level residual refinement module to efficiently integrate spatial and spectral information. Additionally, an attention-based multi-scale fusion module, incorporating both spatial and channel attention, is carefully crafted to enhance representation learning. In the classification branch, both 2-D and 3-D convolutions are employed to improve classification performance. Moreover, an information interaction module is proposed to guide the fusion task based on classification outcomes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches on the Pavia Centre and Pavia University datasets.

Electronic health records (EHRs) play a crucial role in the development of personalized treatment plans for patients. However, EHRs are often highly incomplete, posing significant challenges for predictive modeling. While existing deep learning models employ various imputation techniques to reconstruct missing values, they often fail to represent missing data in a personalized manner and do not learn from the missingness patterns in EHRs data. This limitation reduces their effectiveness in practical personalized healthcare applications. To address this issue, we propose SPIME, a self-supervised model that generates personalized imputations in EHRs data for patient health status prediction. We introduce a personalized missing mask (PMM) based on the frequency of feature measurements. Additionally, we incorporate a masked imputation task (MIT) loss that minimizes the loss of artificially introduced missing values, thereby enhancing the model’s capability to handle missing data. SPIME adopts self-supervised pretraining to learn representations from personalized missing patterns and reconstructs missing data in the latent space. To further enhance representation learning, two independent attention mechanisms are applied separately across the feature and temporal dimensions. Experimental results on two real-world EHRs datasets show that SPIME outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods in predicting in-hospital mortality and decompensation, demonstrating its effectiveness in reconstructing missing data and predicting patient health status. As the population ages, the precise assessment of pulmonary senescence becomes essential for the diagnosis and management of chronic respiratory diseases. However, existing medical imaging analysis techniques encounter significant chal-lenges due to data scarcity, especially in the domain of lung CT imaging. This research proposes an innovative method for assessing lung aging in CT images-T-M Net. This method combines transfer learning and MS-CNN to improve the accuracy and efficiency of lung aging assessment in CT images. We employed a pretrained ResNet18 model, capitalizing on transfer learning to harness the insights from extensive datasets, thereby minimizing the computational demands of model training. Furthermore, a channel attention mechanism is integrated within the transfer learning framework to heighten the model's focus on critical pulmonary regions, thus augmenting its predictive accuracy and interpretability. To accommodate the distinctive characteristics of lung CTs, a MS CNN architecture was developed, capturing multi-dimensional information ranging from microscopic details to macroscopic structures through variously sized convolutional kernels. Testing on a lung CT dataset revealed that our approach surpasses traditional methods in accuracy and generalizability, underscoring its potential utility in the early diagnosis and effective treatment of pulmonary ailments.

This paper studies the extreme learning machine (ELM)-based time-constrained trajectory tracking control of a class of robotic manipulator systems with model/input uncertainties, matched and mismatched disturbances. A uniform robust exact differentiator (URED) is developed to construct a multi-layer virtual control framework of the robotic manipulator system. Under the control framework, adaptive ELM-based control strategies are proposed to suppress the influence of the uncertainties and disturbances layer-by-layer, combining with the minimum learning parameter (MLP) technique which is employed to reduce the calculation complexity of ELM parameters. The significance of this study is that general model/input uncertainties, matched and mismatched disturbances can be effectively compensated within a limited time, so that bounded trajectory tracking of the robotic manipulator can be achieved avoiding the complexity explosion issue. The time-constrained stability of the closed-loop robotic error systems is proved through Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, comparative simulations are employed to display the feasibility and superiority of the designed robust adaptive ELM-based control schemes of a robotic manipulator system. © 2013 IEEE.

Tensors are naturally suitable for representing high-dimensional data. Tensor train decomposition is an effective data processing method to cope with high-dimensional tensors. It is widely used in many fields, such as recommendation system, data completion and dimension reduction. However, experiments show that the traditional tensor decomposition method is only suitable for processing small-scale data. With the increase of the amount of data, the traditional algorithm will not be able to meet the efficiency of processing data. Therefore, this paper improves the traditional tensor train decomposition algorithm. Based on the most crucial step—SVD in the algorithm process, we first divide the matrix into column blocks, and then, considering the storage characteristics of cache, we call multiple threads to process different submatrix blocks. Each thread calls the one-sided Jacobi algorithm respectively to parallelize the SVD process of the matrix. In this paper, performance comparison experiments are carried out on simulated tensor data. The experimental results demonstrate that this method shows good scalability and can greatly improve the speed of tensor train decomposition.

Nowadays, computing resources are widely distributed and diverse, and the demand for efficient execution of various workflow tasks on wide-area resources has been raised. multi-objection scheduling method based on space-time attribute of tasks. A scheduling scheme is generated through the three stages of workflow scheduling queue generation, resource selection combined with task spatiotemporal attributes and task and resource matching, and the selected resources of workflow are run according to this scheduling scheme. This method constructs a scheduling problem model to minimize workflow completion time, cost and resource matching degree, and finds the optimal scheduling scheme to improve task execution efficiency. In the process of the experiment, the workflow is actually run in the multi-cluster environment, and the experiment proves that it has a good effect in reducing the completion time and cost of workflow.

Hyperspectral super-resolution involves combining low-resolution hyperspectral images with high-resolution multispectral images to produce a high-resolution hyperspectral image. Recently, although many methods for hyperspectral image super-resolution have been proposed, they often fail to fully utilize the high similarity among adjacent bands to enhance fusion performance. Therefore, we propose a grouping strategy-based progressive fusion network (GPFNet) for hyperspectral super-resolution. The core of GPFNet is the grouping strategy fusion block (GPF block), in which grouping-based spatial-spectral information fusion and spatial information refinement are performed. We design the spatial-spectral information fusion module (SSIFM) based on grouped convolutions to capture the feature differences from adjacent bands. To refine spatial details, we develop the spatial information enhancement module (SpaEM), which leverages the hierarchical features extracted by the multi-scale feature extraction module (MIEM). Additionally, a progressive fusion strategy, which involves using multiple upsampled hyperspectral images and downsampled multispectral images, further preserves spectral integrity and spatial details. Extensive experiments show that GPFNet outperforms state-of-the-art methods both qualitatively and quantitatively.
