With the development of deep sequencing, recent studies indicate that a miRNA precursor can generate multiple miRNA isoforms (isomiRs). The family prediction of canonical miRNAs and isomiRs could provide a basis for miRNA functional research. In this study, we propose a novel method for family identification of canonical miRNA and isomiRs based on incremental learning. First, a benchmark dataset is constructed by processing data based on miRNA sequences and their family annotation. Moreover, sequence embedding and RNN are used for capturing essential features and inherent dependencies within a sequence. Finally, incremental learning is applied to accommodate the continuous influx of miRNA sequencing data, enabling RNN to stay relevant and effective over time. Comparative experiments and ablation studies illustrate the effectiveness of our model, which can help to comprehensively understand miRNA's function. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the most important services provided by cloud service providers (CSPs), cloud storage is economically attractive and can provide on-demand data storage service to resource-constrained tenants in the manner of pay-per-use. Therefore, by embracing cloud storage service, tenants can store their large-scale data on the remote cloud host to tremendously reduce local storage burden and computational overhead. However, due to the separation of cloud data ownership and management, cloud storage inevitably suffers from a few new security challenges, such as fine-grained cloud data deletion. To achieve data deletion in cloud storage, we design a vector-commitment-based publicly verifiable data deletion scheme, which can achieve data integrity auditing and block-based fine-grained data deletion. Specifically, our proposed scheme disguises the data deletion operation as data update operation. Therefore, the tenants can achieve data deletion by updating the cloud data blocks with some unrelated data blocks. Meanwhile, the tenants can prevent cloud data from being polluted by periodically performing data integrity auditing operation, thus guaranteeing that the cloud host sincerely maintains the data. Moreover, we formally analyze the security, which shows that our proposed scheme can satisfy all of the anticipative security requirements without interaction with a centralized third party. Finally, we develop a prototype system and evaluate the performance of our proposed scheme, which can intuitively demonstrate the high-efficiency and practicality of our proposal. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Laryngeal leukoplakia classification is challenging using white light endoscopy images. Relevant research focus on normal tissues versus non normal tissues, cancer versus non cancer classification. The objective of this paper is to classify laryngeal leukoplakia in white light endoscopy images into six classes: normal tissues, inflammatory keratosis, mild dysplasia, moderate dysplasia, severe dysplasia and squamous cell carcinoma. We proposed a dense multiscale convolutional neural network including parallel multiscale convolution, dense convolution and recurrent convolution in favor of extracting dense multiscale features of laryngeal leukoplakia for fine classification. The proposed network achieved an overall accuracy of 0.8958 for the six-class classification. It has high sensitivity and specificity for each class which are, respectively, 1.0000 and 0.9394 for normal tissues, 0.6667 and 1.0000 for inflammatory keratosis, 0.8889 and 0.9744 for mild dysplasia and moderate dysplasia, 0.7500 and 1.0000 for severe dysplasia, 1.0000 and 0.9767 for squamous cell carcinoma. The experimental results show that our proposed model is superior to the state-of-the-art deep learning-based models. © 2023 IEEE.

Zero-reference low-light image enhancement (LLIE) techniques mainly focus on grey-scale inhomogeneities, and few approaches consider how to explicitly recover a given dark scene for achieving color and holistic illuminance enhancement. In this paper, we propose a novel Zero-Reference Color Self-Calibration framework for low-light image enhancement, namely Zero-CSC, that effectively accentuates channel-wise representations that contain fine-grained color information, achieving a natural result in a progressive manner. Furthermore, a novel Light Up (LU) module with large-kernel convolutional blocks is proposed to improve the holistic illuminance, which is implemented with a simple U-Net. The experiments are conducted on representative datasets, showing that our model consistently achieves SOTA performance on all datasets with the same architecture. © 2024, The Authors. As the largest class of small non-coding RNAs, piRNAs primarily present in the reproductive cells of mammals, which influence post-transcriptional processes of mRNAs in multiple ways. Effective methods for predicting piRNA and mRNA target relationships can help identify piRNA functions, investigate the possibility of piRNAs as biomarkers and therapeutic targets. In this study, we propose a computational approach for classifying the relationships of piRNA-mRNA pairs based on an interactive inference network (IIN). First, we gather piRNA-mRNA target data, collect sequence data by position alignment, and construct a benchmark dataset. Furthermore, a reliable negative set is constructed by positive-unlabeled learning. Finally, we view a piRNA and a mRNA sequence as a premise and hypothesis sentence, respectively, and IIN model is used to predict the relationship between them. The experiments demonstrate that our method effectively characterizes piRNA-mRNA interaction and could be beneficial for researchers to investigate piRNA functions. © 2023 IEEE.

DCGSD: Low-Light Image Enhancement with Dual-Conditional Guidance Sparse Diffusion Model

When restoring low-light images, most methods largely overlook the ambiguity due to dark noise and lack discrimination for region and shape representations, resulting in invalid feature enhancement. In this work, we propose a physically explainable and prior guidance model for low-light image enhancement, termed Dual-Conditional Guidance Sparse Diffusion (DCGSD). Specifically, we introduce an elaborately designed Luminance Structure Guidance Head, which can be easily plugged into the existing diffusion model to emphasize the value of the luminance and structural representation. Furthermore, for reliable noise analysis, we provide a novel Sparse Attention Enhancement Module that is adaptively empowered to exploit the most useful region-to-region dependencies. This dynamic selection makes the diffusion process from dense to sparse, thus improving the efficiency of the reasoning noise distributions. To avoid noise amplification, we further present a Skip Calibration Module, which can be used to refine the local neighborhood that contains noisy and structural information. Extensive experiments have been performed to verify the superiority of the proposed method. DCGSD shows that leveraging dual-conditional guidance can support the diffusion model to produce sharper and more realistic results. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

The development of the software and hardware has brought about the abundance and overflow of computing resources. Many internet companies can lease idle computing resources based on the peak and valley cycles of usage load to provide IaaS service. After the surging development, more and more companies are gradually paying attention to the specific user experience in cloud computing. But there are few works about that aspect in load balance problem. Therefore, we consider the load balancing resource allocation problem, from the perspective of user experience, mainly based on geographical distance and regional Equilibrium, combined with user usage habits, in multiple service periods. A detailed mathematical definition has been established for this problem. This article proposes a mathematical model for the problem, along with an modified CMA-ES (Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy) algorithm, called WS-ESS-CMA-ES algorithm, to allocate computing resources and solve the above problem. The process of using the proposed algorithm to solve the problem of cloud computing resource allocation in real scenarios is simulated, and compared with some other algorithms.
