Traditional multicast routing methods have some problems in constructing a multicast tree, such as limited access to network state information, poor adaptability to dynamic and complex changes in the network, and inflexible data forwarding. To address these defects, the optimal multicast routing problem in software-defined networking (SDN) is tailored as a multi-objective optimization problem, and an intelligent multicast routing algorithm DRL-M4MR based on the deep Q network (DQN) deep reinforcement learning (DRL) method is designed to construct a multicast tree in SDN. First, the multicast tree state matrix, link bandwidth matrix, link delay matrix, and link packet loss rate matrix are designed as the state space of the DRL agent by combining the global view and control of the SDN. Second, the action space of the agent is all the links in the network, and the action selection strategy is designed to add the links to the current multicast tree under four cases. Third, single-step and final reward function forms are designed to guide the intelligence to make decisions to construct the optimal multicast tree. The experimental results show that, compared with existing algorithms, the multicast tree construct by DRL-M4MR can obtain better bandwidth, delay, and packet loss rate performance after training, and it can make more intelligent multicast routing decisions in a dynamic network environment. Computed Tomography (CT) is an imaging technique widely used in clinical diagnosis. However, high-attenuation metallic implants result in the obstruction of low-energy Xrays and further lead to metal artifacts in the reconstructed CT images. Deep supervised model-based metal artifact reduction(MAR) approaches are limited in clinical applications due to the difficulty in obtaining paired artifact-affected and artifactfree data. Furthermore, these model-based methods lack the consideration of data consistency in the sinogram-domain to perform exact metal trace inpainting. To address these challenges, we propose a Data-consistent unsupErVised diffusiOn model for meTal artifact rEDuction, called DEVOTED-Net. First, DEVOTED-Net leverages prior knowledge to guide the conditional diffusion model for fine-grained metal trace inpainting. Second, an unsupervised MAR framework is designed in the reverse process for the unknown metal traces restoration in the sinogram domain. Third, to further enhance the sinogram-domain data consistency, physics-based consistency constraint loss including conjugateray consistency loss and accumulation-ray consistency loss is designed. Extensive experiments are carried out to verify the performance of our algorithm on the publicly availab.e dataset and clinical experimental dataset. This efficient, accurate, and reliable MAR approach holds great potential in clinics.

With rising uncertainty in the real world, online Reinforcement Learning (RL) has been receiving increasing attention due to its fast learning capability and improving data efficiency. However, online RL often suffers from complex Value Function Approximation (VFA) and catastrophic interference, creating difficulty for the deep neural network to be applied to an online RL algorithm in a fully online setting. Therefore, a simpler and more adaptive approach is introduced to evaluate value function with the kernel-based model. Sparse representations are superior at handling interference, indicating that competitive sparse representations should be learnable, non-prior, non-truncated and explicit when compared with current sparse representation methods. Moreover, in learning sparse representations, attention mechanisms are utilized to represent the degree of sparsification, and a smooth attentive function is introduced into the kernel-based VFA. In this paper, we propose an Online Attentive Kernel-Based Temporal Difference (OAKTD) algorithm using two-timescale optimization and provide convergence analysis of our proposed algorithm. Experimental evaluations showed that OAKTD outperformed several Online Kernel-based Temporal Difference (OKTD) learning algorithms in addition to the Temporal Difference (TD) learning algorithm with Tile Coding on public Mountain Car, Acrobot, CartPole and Puddle World tasks. In the past decade, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have shown prominence for semantic segmentation. Although CNN models have very impressive performance, the ability to capture global representation is still insufficient, which results in suboptimal results. Recently, Transformer achieved huge success in NLP tasks, demonstrating its advantages in modeling long-range dependency. Recently, Transformer has also attracted tremendous attention from computer vision researchers who reformulate the image processing tasks as a sequence-to-sequence prediction but resulted in deteriorating local feature details. In this work, we propose a lightweight real-time semantic segmentation network called LETNet. LETNet combines a U-shaped CNN with Transformer effectively in a capsule embedding style to compensate for respective deficiencies. Meanwhile, the elab.rately designed Lightweight Dilated Bottleneck (LDB) module and Feature Enhancement (FE) module cultivate a positive impact on training from scratch simultaneously. Extensive experiments performed on challenging datasets demonstrate that LETNet achieves superior performances in accuracy and efficiency balance. Specifically, It only contains 0.95M parameters and 13.6G FLOPs but yields 72.8% mIoU at 120 FPS on the Cityscapes test set and 70.5% mIoU at 250 FPS on the CamVid test dataset using a single RTX 3090 GPU. Most Cross-modal hashing methods do not sufficiently exploit the discrimination power of semantic information when learning hash codes, while often involving time-consuming training procedures for large-scale dataset. To tackle these issues, we first formulate the learning of similarity-preserving hash codes in terms of orthogonally rotating the semantic data to hamming space, and then propose a novel Fast Semantic Preserving Hashing (FSePH) approach to large-scale cross-modal retrieval. Specifically, FSePH introduces an orthonormal basis to regress the targeted hash codes of training examples to their corresponding reasonably relaxed class lab.ls, featuring significantly reducing the quantization error. Meanwhile, an effective optimization algorithm is derived for modality-specific projection function learning and an efficient closed-form solution for hash code learning, which are computationally tractable. Extensive experiments have shown that the proposed FSePH approach runs sufficiently fast, and also significantly improves the retrieval performances over the state-of-the-arts.

Dual-energy CBCT imaging plays a crucial role in advanced imaging applications due to its ability to quantify material components. Although there are multiple established systems for dual-energy imaging, they often come with high deployment costs. This study investigates the feasibility of dual-energy material decomposition on a less expensive dual-source CBCT system. Due to the specific geometry of dual-source CBCT, cone-beam (CB) artifacts seriously degrade the material decomposition quality when the direct inversion method is adopted. In this paper, a novel dual-source intra-guided material decomposition framework is proposed to suppress CB artifacts in the material maps. Firstly, a dual-source two-pass algorithm is developed for artifact pre-correction during image reconstruction. Then, the structure of small cone-angle regions from one X-ray source is utilized to guide cone beam artifact removal in large cone-angle regions from another source. Finally, direct matrix inverse material decomposition is applied to the filtered image. Extensive experiments have been conducted on the authentic human phantom and demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves excellent performance in cone beam artifact reduction compared to other methods, and significantly enhances the quality of the material maps.

Transformer-based image denoising methods have achieved encouraging results in the past year. However, it must uses linear operations to model long-range dependencies, which greatly increases model inference time and consumes GPU storage space. Compared with convolutional neural network-based methods, current Transformer-based image denoising methods cannot achieve a balance between performance improvement and resource consumption. In this paper, we propose an Efficient Wavelet Transformer (EWT) for image denoising. Specifically, we use Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Inverse Wavelet Transform (IWT) for downsampling and upsampling, respectively. This method can fully preserve the image features while reducing the image resolution, thereby greatly reducing the device resource consumption of the Transformer model. Furthermore, we propose a novel Dual-stream Feature Extraction Block (DFEB) to extract image features at different levels, which can further reduce model inference time and GPU memory usage. Experiments show that our method speeds up the original Transformer by more than 80%, reduces GPU memory usage by more than 60%, and achieves excellent denoising results. The application of CBCT systems in intraoperative environments has become increasingly common, but concurrent CBCT systems are unsuitable for situations that require a large longitudinal imaging FoV, such as orthopedics. To increase longitudinal coverage, we developed a dual-source CBCT (DS-CBCT) system in which two ray sources are symmetrically placed along the central plane. After further analyzing its geometric characteristics, we propose an analytical reconstruction algorithm termed DT-FDK specialized for DS-CBCT, which combines cone-beam rebinning and two rays with smaller cone angles among the four conjugate rays to further suppress cone beam artifacts. The system design and reconstruction algorithm are tested on both simulated and real-scanned data. Results show that the DS-CBCT can expand the effective imaging volume by 37.1% compared to single-source CBCT systems. The reconstructed images by DT-FDK also show improved image quality compared to traditional reconstruction algorithms.

A Quality-Centric Framework for Generic Deepfake Detection

This paper addresses the generalization issue in deepfake detection by harnessing forgery quality in training data. Generally, the forgery quality of different deepfakes varies: some have easily recognizable forgery clues, while others are highly realistic. Existing works often train detectors on a mix of deepfakes with varying forgery qualities, potentially leading detectors to short-cut the easy-to-spot artifacts from low-quality forgery samples, thereby hurting generalization performance. To tackle this issue, we propose a novel quality-centric framework for generic deepfake detection, which is composed of a Quality Evaluator, a low-quality data enhancement module, and a learning pacing strategy that explicitly incorporates forgery quality into the training process. The framework is inspired by curriculum learning, which is designed to gradually enable the detector to learn more challenging deepfake samples, starting with easier samples and progressing to more realistic ones. We employ both static and dynamic assessments to assess the forgery quality, combining their scores to produce a final rating for each training sample. The rating score guides the selection of deepfake samples for training, with higher-rated samples having a higher probability of being chosen. Furthermore, we propose a novel frequency data augmentation method specifically designed for low-quality forgery samples, which helps to reduce obvious forgery traces and improve their overall realism. Extensive experiments show that our method can be applied in a plug- and-play manner and significantly enhance the generalization performance. © 2024, CC0.

Because of the complicated mechanism of ankle injury, it is very difficult to diagnose ankle fracture in clinic. In order to simplify the process of fracture diagnosis, an automatic diagnosis model of ankle fracture was proposed. Firstly, a tibia-fibula segmentation network is proposed for the joint tibiofibular region of the ankle joint, and the corresponding segmentation dataset is established on the basis of fracture data. Secondly, the image registration method is used to register the bone segmentation mask with the normal bone mask. Finally, a semi-supervised classifier is constructed to make full use of a large number of unlab.led data to classify ankle fractures. Experiments show that the proposed method can segment fractures with fracture lines accurately and has better performance than the general method.
