3D models are a new kind of cross-media resource which can be frequently seen in the network. Since the amount of them is very huge now, content-based retrieval can help to recognize a certain object or retrieve similar ones from the giant database. This paper presents a new method for deriving 3D moment invariants and uses them as shape descriptors for the representation of 3D models. They are insensitive to surface noise and can be used in pervasive environment conveniently. Text classification is becoming one of the key techniques in organizing and handling a large amount of text data. In this paper, a combination of ontology with statistical method is presented to improve the precision of text classification. In this study, first, different kind of linguistic ontology knowledge will be respectively acquired by learning training corpus to determine text classifiers. For an actual document,the semantic evaluation value of the document will respectively be gotten by different kind of linguistic ontology knowledge and the categories will be judged by the highest evaluation value. Compared with Bayes, k-nearest neighbor and support vector machine, the proposed approach outperforms previous works.

For information retrieval, users hope to acquire more relevant information from the top indexing documents. In this paper, a combination of Ontology with statistical method is presented to retrieval initial document set and improve the precision of top N ranking documents by re-ranking document set. The experiment with NTCIR-3 Chinese CLIR dataset shows the proposed method improved the precision of information retrieval.

We present an adaptive detection (AD) for broadband communication in the presence of co-channel interference (CCI). In the case of imperfect channel estimation, a robust AD (RAD) is proposed to maintain the good performance. We also show that both AD and RAD can be further improved by using an iterative scheme, referred to as iterative AD (IAD) and iterative RAD (IRAD), respectively. Numerical examples show that all the proposed methods outperform the conventional maximum likelihood sequence estimator (MLSE) significantly, and that they are also computationally more efficient.

After investigation by 415 fish disease cases and experiments, it is found that eutrophication and the pollutants of NH3, H2S as well as heavy metals and organic compounds are the main reasons of inducing fish disease in the north of China. Generally speaking, an early warning system for fish disease based on water management is a cheaper and alternative choice available for the fish farmers to warn the risks and to minimize disease problems. In this research, we developed a three-dimensional finite-difference-time-domain algorithm that incorporated the Lorentz-Drude model through the use of Z-transform technique. This algorithm was used to compute the spectral response of infrared bandpass filters which consisted of the openings of cross-shaped structures in a thin gold film. In creating structures, a graphical user interface was built using Matlab development environment. The created structures were then simulated by running the simulation code written in Fortran. It was observed that cross-shaped structures with large center-broadening effect yielded the highest transmission intensity among the structures that were simulated with a transmittance of approximately 80% at the wavelength of 1.2 μm.

As a suitable tool for analyzing concept interconnection formally, the theory of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is applied. FCA deals with formal mathematical tools and techniques to develop and analyze relationship between concepts and to develop concept structures, and concepts are important building blocks in the concept-interconnection. This paper mainly discusses how FCA can be used to support concept-interconnection analysis from an application point of view. In order to introduce our idea, two kinds of concept-interconnection and interconnection measure in detail are discussed. One is based on Concept-Backbone and the other is based on the attributes. It is seen that FCA can support the building of concept-interconnection as a learning technique, but the established concept-interconnection also can be analyzed by using techniques of FCA.

Quality of service (QoS) multicast routing has continued to be a very important research topic in the Internet. A method of multicast routing is proposed to simultaneously optimize several parameters based on multiobjective genetic algorithm, after the related work is reviewed. The contribution lies on that the selection process of such routing is treated with multiobjective optimization. Different quality criterions in IP network are taken into account for multicast communications. A set of routing trees is generated to approximate the Pareto front of multicast problem. Multiple trees can be selected from the final set of nondominated solutions, and applied to obtain a good overall link cost and balance traffic distribution according to some simulation results.
