Deep image hashing aims to map input images into simple binary hash codes via deep neural networks and thus enable effective large-scale image retrieval. Recently, hybrid networks that combine convolution and Transformer have achieved superior performance on various computer tasks and have attracted extensive attention from researchers. Nevertheless, the potential benefits of such hybrid networks in image retrieval still need to be verified. To this end, we propose a hybrid convolutional and self-attention deep hashing method known as HybridHash. Specifically, we propose a backbone network with stage-wise architecture in which the block aggregation function is introduced to achieve the effect of local self-attention and reduce the computational complexity. The interaction module has been elaborately designed to promote the communication of information between image blocks and to enhance the visual representations. We have conducted comprehensive experiments on three widely used datasets: CIFAR-10, NUS-WIDE and IMAGENET. The experimental results demonstrate that the method proposed in this paper has superior performance with respect to state-of-the-art deep hashing methods. Semantic segmentation of remote sensing images (RSIs) is essential for applications such as environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster management. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and their variants struggle to capture comprehensive spectral context for learning discriminative representations. In this paper, we propose a Spectrum-Enhanced Network (SPENet) that leverages the Frequency Transformer Block (FTB) to capture rich spectral context. FTB integrates Spectrum-Enhanced Attention (SEA) with Multi-Head Frequency Self-Attention (MH-FSA), incorporating more informative contextual cues. Specifically, SEA aggregates spectral statistics through covariance matrix normalization before applying channel-wise attention. By projecting feature maps onto the frequency domain, MH-FSA provides the network with a broader context, extending beyond the low-frequency focus of standard self-attention mechanisms. Extensive experiments on the ISPRS Potsdam and LoveDA datasets show that SPENet significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods. Besides, the proposed SEA module notably rises average F1-score/overall accuracy/mean insert over union wiht more than 2.5/2.6%/2.3%, as demonstrated by ablation study. © 2025 IEEE.

Recently, a new concept called multiplicative differential was introduced by Ellingsen et al. [7]. As an extension of the differential uniformity, it is theoretically appealing to determine the properties of c-differential uniformity and the corresponding c-differential spectrum. In this paper, based on certain quadratic character sums and two special elliptic curves over $$\mathbb {F}_p$$ , the $$(-1)$$ -differential spectra of the following two classes of power functions over $$\mathbb {F}_{p^n}$$ is completely determined: (1) $$f_1(x)=x^{\frac{p^n+3}{2}}$$ , where $$p>3$$ and $$p\equiv 3\pmod 4$$ ; (2) $$f_2(x)=x^{p^n-3}$$ , where $$p>3$$ . The obtained result shows that the $$(-1)$$ -differential spectra of $$f_1(x)$$ and $$f_2(x)$$ can be expressed explicitly in terms of n. Moreover, an upper bound of the c-differential uniformity of $$f_2(x)$$ is given.

Edge intelligence (EI) is recognized by academia and industry as one of the key emerging technologies for future cyber-physical-social systems (CPSS), which provides the ability to analyze data at edge rather than sending it to the cloud for analysis, and will be a key enabler to realize a world of a trillion hyper-connected smart sensing devices. As a part of future CPSS, online social networks are large-scale complex networks that consist of a large number of network nodes and links. The dynamic discovery of communities, especially overlapping communities, is important to understand the evolution of online social networks. However, traditional community discovery algorithms cannot effectively discover overlapping communities in social networks. In order to address this challenge, an edge intelligence-enabled dynamic overlapping community discovery and evolution prediction model (EIDEP) is proposed in this article. This model encompasses a label propagation algorithm based extension (LPAE) algorithm, which is able to efficiently discover the user community structures in online social networks. Based on the LPAE community discovery algorithm, a user interest behavior based evolution prediction (UIBEP) algorithm is incorporated in our EIDEP model in order to realize a fast yet accurate community evolution for online social networks, by considering the interest similarity of unlinked nodes in a given community. The performance of our proposed LPAE and UIBEP models is validated and evaluated against notable state-of-the-art community discovery algorithms, through extensive experiments conducted based on a Twitter dataset. © 2021 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Efficient and stable Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been successfully produced using a dual-layer modified (DLM) perovskite thin film. This method simultaneously modifies both the bottom (SnO2/perovskite) and top (perovskite/SpiroOMeTAD) interfaces of the perovskite. The crystallinity of the perovskite film is enhanced after the DLM treatment. Additionally, thin barrier layers are formed on both its bottom and top surfaces, which reduce surface defect density and non-radiative recombination of carriers. The bottom and top modifier layers prevent direct contact between the hole transport layer and the electron transport layer, forming a high-energy barrier that promotes carrier transmission in PSCs. Consequently, the methylammonium acetate (MAAc)-PSC achieves an efficiency of 21.96%. © 2024 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Deep learning methods are data-driven. But for pathological voice detection, it is difficult to obtain high-quality labeled data. In this work, a weakly supervised learning Method is presented to improve the quality of existing datasets by learning sample weights and fine-grained labels. First, A convolutional neural network (CNN) is devised as the basic architecture to detect the pathological voice. Then, a proposed self-training algorithm is used to iteratively run and automatically learn the sample weights and fine-grained labels. These learned sample weights and fine-grained labels are used to train the CNN model from scratch. The experiment results on the Saarbrucken Voice database show that the diagnosis accuracy improved from 75.7 to 82.5%, with a 6.8% improvement in accuracy over the CNN models trained with the original dataset. This work demonstrates that the weakly supervised learning method can significantly improve the classification performance to distinguish pathological voice and healthy voice. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Multimedia recommender systems focus on utilizing behavioral information and content information to model user preferences. Typically, it employs pre-trained feature encoders to extract content features, then fuses them with behavioral features. However, pre-trained feature encoders often extract features from the entire content simultaneously, including excessive preference-irrelevant details. We speculate that it may result in the extracted features not containing sufficient features to accurately reflect user preferences. To verify our hypothesis, we introduce an attribution analysis method for visually and intuitively analyzing the content features. The results indicate that certain items' content features exhibit the issues of information drift and information omission, reducing the expressive ability of features. Building upon this finding, we propose an effective and efficient general Behavior-driven Feature Adapter (BeFA) to tackle these issues. This adapter reconstructs the content feature with the guidance of behavioral information, enabling content features accurately reflecting user preferences. Graph Neural Network (GNN)-based methods have recently emerged as effective approaches for multimedia recommendation. Typically, these methods employ message passing on the user-item interaction graph, and model user preferences by exploiting co-occurrence patterns. Despite their effectiveness, we argue that they insufficiently exploit the individual information, potentially limiting recommendation performance. To validate our argument, we first analyze existing methods from spectral graph theory. We identify that existing methods focus on capturing global structural features, but underutilize local structural features that convey individual information. Further detailed experiments reveal that such an underutilization leads to overly similar user preferences modeling. Furthermore, we propose a novel Principal Graph Learning (PGL) framework to address this issue. The idea is to enhance user preference modeling by effectively mining and utilizing principal local structural features. PGL first extracts the principal subgraph from the user-item interaction graph using two novel extraction operators: global-aware and local-aware subgraph extraction. It then employs message passing on the principal subgraph to comprehensively model user perference, with the aim of simultaneously capturing co-occurrence patterns and individual information.
