This article considers the pinning quasi-synchronization problem for a class of leader-following multilayer heterogeneous complex networks. The leader has nonzero control inputs that are unavailable to the followers. Multilayer heterogeneous networks with heterogeneous node dynamics and two different layer structures are proposed in this article. Two types of discontinuous coupling laws are designed for achieving synchronization in multilayer heterogeneous networks. Based on Lyapunov stability theory and the matrix theory, some sufficient criteria for pinning quasi-synchronization are derived, and the upper bound of quasi-synchronization errors is solved. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Gallium based room temperature liquid metal alloy has attracted continuous attention due to it combined properties of both liquid and metal, such as low viscosity, high surface tension, great thermal and electrical conductivity. Besides, it has low toxicity compared to mercury. These properties enable liquid metal to be used in various fields, especially in the soft electronics and soft robotics domain. Liquid metal could transform and move under electrical field in alkaline solution. Besides, by adding aluminum to liquid metal, it can actuate itself for minutes. What’s more, we have discovered that by inserting a thin copper wire into the self-actuated liquid metal, the copper wire could oscillate by itself. It is the first ever discovery of liquid metal and copper wire coupled oscillation phenomenon induced by chemical and mechanical principle. However, the oscillation period varies along time and the motion behavior of the copper wire is unstable, which limits its further application. Here, we propose several new ways to stabilize the oscillation process and extend the motion direction. By arranging the position of several separate liquid metal droplets, we manage to realize stable and continuous oscillation. Besides, bended copper wire could also oscillate in circular manner. Such findings enrich the liquid metal based soft robotics research and have potential applications in liquid metal-based sensors, actuators and counters. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper proposes a fake news spreading model with similarity taken into account, assuming that the similarity between individuals can affect the transmission rate. Simulations show that the similarity of two connected nodes and the product of their degrees are positively correlated when the network temperature is small, and the similarity of two connected nodes decreases as the product of their degrees increases. Thus the transmission rate can be expressed as the function of their degrees in the proposed model. The theoretic analysis demonstrates the critical threshold is related to both the influence coefficient and the similarity function. Simulation results show a smaller influence coefficient leads to a larger critical threshold and smaller final density of stiflers. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

In this work, the lead-time stability control for nonlinear continuous system is investigated. The convergence time of the system under the proposed algorithm can be given as needed within any physically allowable range. Namely, the system achieves stability before the preassigned time, which does not depend on initial conditions or other controller parameters. Furthermore, the convergence error of the lead-time control for the system with disturbances can be reduced to an adjustable range. Compared with the prescribed-time control, the proposed algorithm has better disturbance rejection and can avoid the sudden change at the certain time for the prescribed-time system. Finally, two numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

The target of this paper is studying the quasi-synchronization problems of the heterogeneous Lur'e networks with impulsive feedback control. By introducing impulsive feedback control, the heterogeneous Lur'e network is analyzed. The sufficient condition for guaranteeing quasi-synchronization is derived by means of linear matrix inequality (LMI), the Schur complement and the principle of comparison. More over, the upper bound of exponential quasi-synchronization errors is further calculated. Finally, the numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the control protocol and theoretical results.

EFSA: Towards Event-Level Financial Sentiment Analysis

In this paper, we extend financial sentiment analysis (FSA) to event-level since events usually serve as the subject of the sentiment in financial text. Though extracting events from the financial text may be conducive to accurate sentiment predictions, it has specialized challenges due to the lengthy and discontinuity of events in a financial text. To this end, we reconceptualize the event extraction as a classification task by designing a categorization comprising coarse-grained and finegrained event categories. Under this setting, we formulate the Event-Level Financial Sentiment Analysis (EFSA for short) task that outputs quintuples consisting of (company, industry, coarse-grained event, fine-grained event, sentiment) from financial text. A large-scale Chinese dataset containing 12, 160 news articles and 13, 725 quintuples is publicized as a brand new testbed for our task. A four-hop Chainof- Thought LLM-based approach is devised for this task. Systematically investigations are conducted on our dataset, and the empirical results demonstrate the benchmarking scores of existing methods and our proposed method can reach the current state-of-the-art. This paper addresses the global consensus problem for multi-input multi-output saturated systems within a sampled-data framework, aiming to advance global consensus, manage heterogeneous actuator saturation across components, and preserve distributed characteristics by using sampled-data feedback. We propose a distributed control algorithm that incorporates a redesigned saturation function, represented as decentralized dynamic saturation levels. These levels for each agent’s dimensions are autonomously updated through an adaptive strategy, which mitigates heterogeneous saturation by carefully selecting constant and time-varying saturation parameters in it. Lyapunov analysis proves that global consensus can be achieved under the proposed control law, provided the sampling periods of all agents remain below a calculated threshold. An example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

In this paper, we study the consensus of continuous-time general linear multi-agent systems in the absence of the model information by using the adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) based reinforcement learning (RL) approach. The introduction of the RL approach is to learn the feedback gain matrix to fulfill the construction of the control algorithm to guarantee the reach of consensus only on the basis of the available information. For the state feedback control, the RL algorithm relates only to the state and the input of an arbitrary agent, while for the output feedback control, the RL algorithm depends only on the input and output information of an arbitrary agent, irrelevant any model information. In this paper, the quasi-synchronization problem of the multiplex networks is investigated by impulsive scheme. First,a heterogeneous multiplex network with time delays is considered. Second, a leader is introduced in order to construct the synchronization errors between the nodes in the multiplex networks and the leader. Third, an impulsive control is designed, and based on the comparison theorem for delayed impulsive systems, the sufficient condition for achieving quasi-synchronization in the multiplex networks is obtained. Finally, a numerical simulation with a two-layer multiplex network is selected to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results.
